    "I love this, did you use a late 60's 302 flywheel and bolt on the 8N pressure plate and 9" clutch? I'm wanting to do this to my 2N, From looking at parts the late 60's flywheels look like they would be a direct bolt on for the Tractors clutch setup... ? I think they use the same 9" clutch etc? If you know please let me know. Thanks

      Used a Flywheel off a 1977 Ford F100 302 . Have to redrill the hole pattern from the 8n pressure plate to the Flywheel. I guess any 60's-70's Flywheel would work. Used what I had laying around

    Would you say a 460 would go in about the same as far as clutch setup and the rest

    • @MrBarrymundy
      @MrBarrymundy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what the distance is from the back of the 460 block to the flywheel. You would have to do some measuring and figuring to come up with the thickness of what the adapter would have to be. I don't know what the diameter of the 460 flywheel is either. So I can't tell you if this will work or not

      Do you remember how thick it was ? And did you weld up the holes and redrill the flywheel ?

    • @MrBarrymundy
      @MrBarrymundy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im thinking it was 3.5 inches thick,but not sure.I did not weld the holes in the flywheel.I put both bolt patterns in that adapter ,best I recall the AC Crankshaft hole pattern was smaller than the 350 crankshaft hole pattern,so you could bolt the adapter on to the 350 engine with counter sunk socket head screws and still have a flat surface to bolt the AC flywheel to. I will try to check this week and see If I wrote down how thick that adapter was and let you know ,If not I will try to remember how I came up with those measurements

    • @MrBarrymundy
      @MrBarrymundy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have a drawing. but with the flywheel installed on the AC engine.measure from the face of the flywheel to the back of the engine ,add the thickness of the engine adapter to this measurement. This how far the face of the flywheel should be behind the v6 engine,.or it should be same distance with the engine adapter installed on the v6. I have a picture of the flywheel adapter.if you can send me your email i will send it to you

      That is the only adapter that I made for the 8N tractor. It was a figure it out as you go deal and I made no drawing.I think Awesome Henry or someone like that offered a 302 adapter at one time but last time I looked they didn't offer it anymore.Anyway if you attempt to make one, make everything from the crankshaft center-line and the transmission imput shaft center-line .
