CIA timings, my friend. They sometimes mess up depending both on the source mod and the player/tracker used. IIRC, Blue silence had an Atari Falcon, so he might have used a different version of Protracker than the Amiga's. And the mod just happen to play correctly under FTII clone

Check out a perfect example of this : th-cam.com/video/384iRpK9TqU/w-d-xo.html I couldn't get this mod replayed correctly neither by PT clone nor FT II clone. So I had to resort to emulated DeliPlayer.

And yes, I tried DeliPlayer for Windows too : no good.

@@Captainumerica A module whose only tempo command is an F05 (which appears on the first row of the second channel in the first pattern and others, though the others could be omitted) does not need to use the CIA chips since, with the BPMs stable at 125 all the time, the way to calculate the tempo is to count 5 refreshes of the vertical blank in each row (that's what the F05 command does when it's not accompanied by a second Fxx command on another channel that modifies the standard BPM and forces, hence, to use the CIAs for timing). So there's no way there's going to be any problems calculating tempo with such a module. Check it out, one second is equal to 10 rows in this MOD (as would be the case for an F05 command alone on an Amiga PAL using a simple replay routine based on the vertical blank). This MOD is a standard Protracker module, nothing special about it. FastTracker II, although it tries to adjust its frequency tables to those of the Amiga when loading a Protracker MOD, does not implement all commands identically and this can be verified by comparing it with Protracker. Have you tried loading this MOD in Protracker Clone?

@@Captainumerica Darkroom is a 40K intro by Stellar, with music by Strobo, and the module was originally in The Player 6.x format. So, any MOD you got is a conversion. Anyway, I have the MOD in my collection, the size is 57862 bytes. Does yours have the same size? You can find that MOD well converted to Protracker in many places like, for instance, in Modland, in Amiga Music Preservation and in Kestra Bitworld.

@@Captainumerica That is true, they didn't have anywhere near the same resources. But I feel like decent gameplay doesn't necessarily need more developers - games like Cave Story or Axiom Verge were made by a single person. Granted it's also easier to make games today - but I still feel like Speris Legacy fell short of what was possible on the Amiga during that time.
