The Will to Walk
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 มิ.ย. 2020
Please join m on my journey as I try the newest of modern pain management devices and medicine to walk after shattering my heel in January of 2018 and developing CRPS 2.5 months later. I hope this serves as both a guide and encouragement to those who have sustained a broken heel, has CRPS, or is looking into technology like Spinal Stimulators to battle their chronic pain.

The trial was hell. I didn't expect that I would have such pain in my spine ! Again, everyone is different. However, it did work for my CRPS pain in my foot . I do know that when I get my permanent inplant in January -2025 that it could change based on others stating that they had relief during the trial however, the permanent was not the same for them. Im trying to be more prepared mentally for the permanent one thats for sure! It's crazy that you have to go through hell to feel better. Nonetheless, thank you for sharing your experience.
I never look into other people's crps stories. They either get me mad or sad, and it's hard enough dealing with you're own stuff, kwim? But...the odd time I will and I see something like this and think, "I can't believe there's people out there so similar to me...even the way we describe things... If these videos help you out in any way, please keep it up. (You'll do whatever you see fit though, of course) All I have to say is that, today, in this moment, this actual video helped a long-term crps survivor get through to tomorrow at the very least, and thats a lot. So thanks, hang in there, and you're beautiful. Not just talking about your personality either...sorry, but it had to be said. Hope you put out another one...like an update. Good or bad news, doesn't matter.
hes getting big . going well jen
I had my stimulator 3 years but recently my pain came back but it was a miracle for me for 3 years I could do anything. Now I’m starting having pain again.
My Dr is suggesting the stimulator im doing my research and I hear a lot of testimony of people and a lot of them they saying that they passing for a lot of pain that they regret to put the stimulator. My question is how you being feeling since then l? Do you recommend me to put the stimulator l!? I don't want to put a device inside then start having complications. I prefer the Dr remove my disc that is pitching my nerve on the S1 I already have the Fusion on L4 & L5. Is been a year and im still having problems on my back.

Hi Jenn. You look good, better to be informed with this doctor willing to take you on as a new patient and with your other care team on board. Tough as this situation is, I know the right decision will come to you clearly. Holding you in the light always and praying for you. Thanks for the update. 🙏💜🙏
Thank you for sharing your story... I recently shattered my heel after a fall from a scaffold (open fracture).. Very bad break required a life flight to get me to a hospital. Just trying to wrap my head around what I'm facing. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks for the update. Hope the visit to the surgeon proves fruitful. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for taking your time to post helpful videos for us. I am getting my stimulator in 3 days and I am apprehensive. This will be my 6th back surgery. And the last attempt to control my pain. I have exhausted all other methods. How are you doing? I pray that you are doing well. Blessings to you. ❤
@@docgregg2 Praying that all goes well for you! Unfortunately life continues to throw curveballs, as I required an amputation revision a year after losing my leg to osteomyelitis and necrosis resulting from a series of destructive flares, fell and ended up in the hospital for a month due to a broken femur and accidental Graves’ Disease diagnosis, needed my second stimulator removed this spring due to a malfunction, and am currently waiting on surgery for severe endometriosis (Excision with a hysterectomy). Sadly, only 1 doctor in the entire state agreed to take my case because my body is so messed up, and during this long wait for surgery, I’ve lost bladder sensation and any remaining quality of life 😕
I started slowly walking today. It's OK to try bicycle.

You got CRSP? You sound like it.
I have full-body CRPS among several other debilitating conditions. A string of bad CRPS flares burnt my left leg off my body 2 1/2 years ago, and bad flares cause 2nd degree burns throughout my back and chest. I cant even sit up without my Spinal Cord Stimulator and rely on pain meds around the clock. Every doctor says I’m the most extreme case of CRPS they’ve ever seen…at “title” I’d give anything not to have
Jen, I am holding you in the light. Try to remain calm and positive. 🙏💜🙏

Dear Jen, so many people are praying for you. Your spirit is strong and I wish I could take away your pain. It sounds horrible and unfortunately it seems like the doctors are afraid to treat you. Please don't give up, no matter what.
You're strength and wisdom continues to be a source of inspiration for me. I had my ALIF surgery in August and doing well. Considering I wasn't able to walk prior, I'm doing much better. I support and love you. I pray that this surgery helps relieve your pain. 🙏💜🙏
I'm so sorry to hear that things continue to deteriorate :-( My wife and I ask God to heal you and/or provide the grace to be able to continue every night. Please hang in there.
5 hours??? mine was like 30 minutes
@@starrriaa it’s because I required a neuropsych evaluation since I had a traumatic brain injury 2010. Most evils only take 30 minutes tho
Thank you for the video. You’ve been through so much. I developed CRPS in right foot after a motorcycle accident. Foot got crushed by motorcycle. Anyway, have had ketamine infusions for it, nerve blocks, pain meds, etc… and they have been trying to get me to agree to a spinal nerve stimulator and I don’t want to do that. But today, the pain doctor spoke to me about the Sprint PNS and seeing your video explaining everything ( better than the did), gave me a better understanding of everything. Thank you so much
I wouldn't recommend operating when you have CRPS. For many years now, I've noticed that the pain can change position in the body. It's like an inflammation of the brain, I think. And now with the change in temperature it's tough, or maybe wait for the summer Stay strong
@@vinm2648 I’ve unfortunately needed multiple medically necessary surgeries over the years despite my CRPS, some have triggered flares while others haven’t, but they can’t spread it because I already have full-body CRPS. This surgery is a must because I’ve not only lost bladder sensation from the extreme pelvic and abdominal pain but am flaring more often and experiencing extra complications with my Graves’ Disease due to the extra strain on my body. Prolonged stress could lead to a fatal thyroid storm, so this could easily become a life or death situation. If surgery wasn’t absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t have it…Heck, I fought so hard to avoid amputation when my CRPS became destructive that I was on the verge of sepsis due to the antibiotic-resistant osteomyelitis and necrosis that resulted.
Hi maam I recently lost my left leg due to car accident and its really difficult to walk with one leg as when I use crutches my one leg pains a lot as whole weight is put on that leg did you also face this problem when you lost your leg?
@@Haydenlewis7 I had already been in a wheelchair for years before losing my leg so don’t experience heaviness thanks to the stump rest that keeps my residual limb propped up.
