Desert full of holes. what a powerful metaphor, Never get to the water, just keep on digging shallow holes everyone. Also the yogurt example is excellent. So many choices these days, Thank you Jetsunma for these metaphors.

Speaking of Katagiri, besides having sex with a number of his female students he also attempted to rape a woman closely connected to Mpls. Zen Center, though not a member. She managed to fight him off. I believe attempted rape is a felony. But you don't want to know about things like this. You know. The truth about him. Andrea was there. It happened in 1979.

Also in a 16th century document, there is a note of a monk playing the amida sutra on his shakuhachi rather than chanting it because, as the taigensho states "his voice was weak."

Michael is such a wonderful teacher. I really enjoyed my years studying with him. I enjoyed your presentation a lot. First I wanted to comment on the Shomyo piece you mentioned. It seems that the guy chanting is from the Tendai tradition? Would I be correct there? Shichi no Bongo, this is my translation of the meaning of the work from my shomyo textbook. I studied with one of the head shomyo artist in the Shigon tradition. Also known as "Four" or "Four Stories." A Sanskrit hymn composed in India around the 7th century to praise the Great Sun Tathagata in the Vajradhatu Mandala. It's a translation of Sanskrit Shloka verses (16-syllable, 2-line poetry) into Chinese. "Four Wisdoms in Chinese" pays homage to the Chinese translation. The Bodhisattva is representative of the assembly of the Vajradhatu Mandala, offering homage to each Buddha of the Dhyani Buddhas. The title represents the Four Wisdoms of the Four Tathagatas (Four Buddhas): Wisdom of Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, Equality Wisdom, and Marvelous Wisdom. The interpretations are not directly related to the title or lyrics. According to "Autumn Collection," the melody changes twice, from "kiyana" to "makaban," and finally returns to "iketsu," but the doctor explains that the "ro" part has been transferred to "ritsu" and is notated with the tuning of the entire board. The distinction between "ro" and "ritsu" is preserved in decorative notes like lilies. Traditional chanting tones also follow the rhythm. Additionally, in the first half of the "ro" part, "sho-no-hakase" is sung at a complete fourth (quintuple meter) pitch and notated with symbols. At the end of the piece, yakitsugi instruments are struck as an offering. Are you familiar with the hitoyogiri? The hitoyogiri I think is the missing link between the Shomyo chanting and the shakuhachi. Shomyo is played in modes as is hitoyogiri, where as the shakuhachi plays in edo keys. Another thing that is interesting is that there are many techniques that are shared from shomyo and shakuhachi. For example, the technique fuki kiri is found both in Shomyo and in Shakuhachi.

The mind and body work together of course There are ways to correct these...this of course requires positive energy..fluid motion has to do with atomosphere...this is for us the air we breath..which contains the oxygen we need to think clearly..each breath is an instantaneous response..releasing carbon and waste..static charge in the air..magnetics we call gravity...this is a charge that we balance in our body by being who we want to be..not who we are ..gills.fish.water.oxygen..lung air oxygen..think. clouds and humidity.. Something our species never think about.. Creation creates all from nothing..man destroys..so do not destroy yourself in the process of life..THINK CLEAR. and survive closest to nature....bio metrics...
