Guard Off-Road: a group of friends that love to go wheeling
Long Canyon and Strawberry Pass 4x4 trails
We did two easy trails in the El Dorado National Forest to make a full day of wheeling with incredible views. My Jk swaybar motor went out and Jim’s front driveshaft u-joint failed on his YJ.

👍K.jeeper, looks like fun.
@@jeff503 it was a great time!
nice dogs 😅
Might want to change those settings on the welder, just saying .................
@@phxamigo that’s a lot of periods
@@GuardOffroad sorry! 😁
@@phxamigo it’s ok 😆
Good vid guys! We were in the group in front of you guys! Nice meeting you all! I had the Grey Jeep Commando.
Thanks, it was nice meeting you guys too! Sweet commando 👍
@@GuardOffroad Thanks!
Bad spotting in this video.I spotted better when i was a teenager on the Rubicon then some of these guys. You want your tires on top of the rock's that way you don't hang up on your dif or undercarriage
Nice 👍
Super fun trail 👍😎
We had a guy 2 weeks ago roll his Jeep on that trail after the first obstacle. His suspension flexed out and his brake line broke. Was told 3 times to fix it. He wanted to wait till he got to flat ground. Next thing you knew it he rolled it on top of the roof. I'm sure he learned a valuable lesson that day. My crew didn't even get a chance to get to the bottom. Their day run trip ended right there. Took one Jeep to pull and another Jeep to push it out.
I heard about that. I’m really glad him and his family are ok
Did it memorial day weekend, oh how fun!!!
Yeah I saw your video with the adventure crew. Badass xj you got there!
@@GuardOffroad Dude, thanks, I can't believe how high the lake is already, wow...... This is a very tough trail, I was pretty nervous the whole way down. You guys killed it !!
@@theangrycamper yes it was rising fast! Awesome trail. Can’t believe I only winched once 😆. Very tough!
@@GuardOffroad apparently next time I do this trail I am not allowed a spotter :O, so I will be bringing diapers ;)
@@theangrycamper dang! He’s going all Mr. Miyagi on you 😆
Ampin
Did he even use the central tire system to air down?
He did, just not low enough. Second time out was better.
Disconnect the sway bar AND the track bar and the YJ will actually flex. You don't really need the track bar on a YJ because the leaf springs hold the axle in the center.
If you use your brakes and throttle till pressure is applied then release the brakes it usually fully locks the differentials on some military vehicles….enjoy
He was just figuring things out on his first snow trip. His second trip was awesome. He was aired down lower and climbing hills, pulling out two jeeps at a time. No problems in the deep stuff either.
Without lockers, that’s a liability.
You should see it aired down.
Tyler is a journalist...Good Job! 🤩
Does the LMTV not have lockers ?
No lockers but he’s considering it.
Put a detroit eaton no spin in the lmtv for next time...
I think it has air lockers for the front and rear and centre…but he might just not know how to use any of it.
@@someguy4476 none of them have air lockers
Great until you get it really stuck....then a little 4500lb jeep aint pulling that 10klb truck out
It’s an 18klb truck and he was barely stuck and the little Jeep couldn’t pull out the truck. He used his winch.
What mount did you use for the front reservoir?
Dobinsons mount
Thank you for inviting me to go with yall! Had so much fun! Will be buying a jeep asap
It was great having you along! You definitely need a bigger vehicle for next time 😉
@@GuardOffroad LOL! Actually getting a jeep this weekend 93 XJ B)
I had Soo much fun watching this😁😁

Awesome vid!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Loved the part where the lmtv was going through the snow. Every5ing else was cool tho
Thanks! The full video is up if you want to see more LMTV in the snow.
Just a heads up for you guys an LMTV comes in around 17,000lbs and has 46" tall tires.
Thank you! That is some good info.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind words 👍
🤣
😊
Looks like a BLAST! 🙌😁
The most fun I’ve had on 4 wheels!
Well that's awesome
Thanks! Full video coming soon!
Hey awesome vid! I have been wanting to get out to the Prairie City off road area for a while now, but I don't know the process, or what type of terrain there is. Are the people there pretty chill? I am still new to offroading and I don't want to get in anyone's way. Are their courses or obstacles for those who aren't crawling? I've got a couple inches of lift with 33's and only a rear locker on my Colorado.
Thank you! Right now the only open terrain is the obstacle course area due to mud. There are some easy obstacles in there for you to play around in. Ive always gone alone for the past 20 years and never had a problem with anyone. It is best to bring a friend and some recovery gear if you’re just starting out but not necessary. I used to go in my XJ on 29s and still had fun. Strangers would happily pull me out of the mud when I got stuck. It’s closed Wednesdays.
May I ask what was he doing in the mudd ?
I have no clue. Maybe just out exploring.
@@GuardOffroad LOL
Looks like a fun trip but please never hold a tensioned winch line in ur hand synthetic rope or not! Love the rigs too
Thanks! I’ll let him know 👍 I think because it was an easy pull and he needed to re-tension a little after having his line wound up without tension.
Looks like some fun trails and even better with all the pups!
Love those pups! One of the best areas yet for snow wheeling.
Love the Donuts, Wont be doing those in a 392 🙂
Can’t be done 😄
Fun video to watch
Thanks! We appreciate that. More to come!
Nice! Any mods on the 4Xe and JLU Rubicon?
Thanks! The 4xe is bone stock except for the winch, custom winch cover plate and lights. The JLU has a 2.5” ish lift with Rusty’s control arms. Thanks for watching.
Very nice. What wheel and tire size is this? Thanks.
@WOLFWARRIOR they measured out to 31” but I forgot the tire and rim size

Love watching the little red Jeep.

I like the old small red Jeep!
Me too! 😃
That looks like so much fun. I WILL be on the next trip.
It was a great run! You better 😉
Headed there next WEEK!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Should be weather then! Taking your Tundra?
@@GuardOffroad I am taking the Tundra there but going to ride with Vas from 4WD Adventure Crew, Tundra is a little too big for me to want to take it up there lol.
Although I'll probably wish I would have taken it up there ha ha ha ha
@@theangrycamper nice! That will be a fun ride!
Could you please post all the options you've chosen from Dobinsons as there is a lot of options for the MRR shocks and springs combinations. Thank you

how did you get the v8 badge on the grill?

Hey 👋
Can’t wait to see this thing on the trail!
17:14 Why didn’t we get to see the Scrambler get up? 😁 Great video and nice editing. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I messed up on that footage and a lot of the whale bones footage. Hopefully I can get more scrambler video soon. Thank you though!
Great video! That’s a really clean WJ.
Thanks I’ll let him know. New rubicon video coming soon.
@@GuardOffroad Sounds good, look forward to seeing it 👍
That moment when people ask "why do I need rock sliders"? 7:06
Definitely. I think she’s doing a lift kit and some sliders soon. Should look pretty cool. 😎
We went up a few weeks back. There was a TRX Ram up there 😬
Wow that’s brave! Such a nice truck.
We got hella hole video coming soon then deer valley
