That is why there are so many different campers on the market: they're all built with different customers needs in mind. I personalldont carry more than 350lbs of cargo at any given time with my E Pro 20FBS

All their a/c's in a cougar product should be racetrack ducted. Adding the second air adds volume.

@@DapperRV in the 2022, is the second optional AC ducked or does it just blow straight down like the 2021?

Best to ask a service technician to show you during the walkthrough. All slide systems I've seen have a manual override/disengage to keep you from being stranded.

Not disagreeing. I'm sure if asked the manufacturer would have a reason. It does keep you from mixing them up.

It's a phenomenal layout for a camper. Really glad you like it.

To be the length it is I've always felt it does the opposing slides really well.

The dealership I'm at stopped carrying this brand middle of last year. Expect pricing to be inline to what a travel trailer would cost.

I haven't heard of any changes to their wall construction but doesn't mean they aren't. I'd assume they'd be changing over the floors first as they've been working in a composite there for a while.

@@DapperRV They have changed the walls to composite on 2025 cougars I know for a fact. They prob not saying much right now because then the 2024s will be sitting on lots.

Because many are telling the manufacturers that they'd rather take their own speakers with them.

Everyone gas a different experience that leads to a different opinion.

Pricing varies from dealership to dealership that I do not include it on these long walkthrough videos.

Yeah I still recommend a 2500 for any 5th wheel simply for the wind sheer.

There is! That awning has an led strip underneath. Most model will feature that now too.

Is there a winterizing video for this 27REX somewhere? If so, could you please share it? If not, could you create one? We have this camper and are perplexed as to where the pump and valve are located for the antifreeze? We've been enjoying ours for the first season, and now that fall is coming soon, we are only now starting to think about it 😀 Thank you.

All campers are winterizedin the same manner. Best option is to ask your local service dealer to walk you through it. They normally do that on the walkthrough when you purchase.

It's been sold for nearly a year BUT even right now low retail NADA is $8500.

Ensuring the water pump is off and the city water is also off then all that's left is opening a sink valve to release the pressure.

Correct that people should ask questions, look at them inperson, and know they have the opportunity to have a third party RV Inspection done on any possible camper they're considering. I only know campers for the past decade or so but have already seen a big change in how the industry has adapted materials to get a better balance with cost/weight/longevity. All I can do is pass along what I know. I do not say any brand is inherently better than another for any particular reason because each brand builds campers with a customer and usage type in mind. If you only have $30k to spend then your needs are very different than another that has $100k to spend. Same would be true with a car but they all get you from point A to point B.

So long as this doesn't lead to an argument. I pass along the information that's made known to me or that I learn from my own direct experience. That said 99% of camper manufacturers do not produce the frames/chassis that their campers ride upon. Some have seen excessive frames flex but I have not heard that being mentioned by other brand sales reps abouy Grand Design which leads me to think it's a small number that had a negative experience associated with it. Frame flex occurs in all metal chassis as it's designed to move slightly to take the beating it gets on the road. The larger flatbed trailers really exaggerate this if you look at their upper curve. Grand Design has been in existence since 2012 and all of their brands have received dealer service awards each year, they were the first company to do a post production inspection, and they have built a very loyal following among existing camper owners. I've seen frames flexed and even sheer away on weld points....but only in campers over 15 years old, from fulltime usage and with what appeared to be overloaded chassis too.

3/4" plywood is the base with really simple joinery using wood screws. A local carpet supplier had cutoffs (lefotvers) that matched well to the existing carpeting so picked that up and used oversized staples (hand driven) to keep it in place. Residential carpeting is too thick to glue in place easily.

I guess that is why I always had money my whole life and always will have money because I believe in satisfying the customer and helping them out in every way I can.. The tires are placed there partly for turning radius and ease of installation for the factory. Then there's the motivation to lower weight and cost which would both be higher with separated setups. That said I'll be asking the reps that question!
