Every day thousands of newborn babies are tortured by having their genitals mutilated in the US. The US government not only promotes this is its own country but also in Africa and does so in the guise of aid. The term FGM was coined by a radical feminist who having a Jewish/American cultural background in all likelihood had her own sons mutilated, set out to draw a sharp distinction between her own cultural cutting practice and that of Africans who did not discriminate by treating their daughters differently. The term is therefore a discriminatory one when used in a broad context as it is here. Genital mutilation ia a harmful cultural practice irrespective of gender, creed or culture and the US is a prime violator.
