A GOLDEN AGE OF CAVE EXPLORATION AND SCIENCE
Thailand
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 ส.ค. 2018
These are an excellent series of talks organised and part funded by Andrew Eavis over a long weekend in December 2017 at the Royal Geographic Society in London. They give an eye opening account of the extraordinary results achieved by 50 years of more cave exploration and cave science. In particular it is apparent that aspects of cave science, have become pivotal in wider fields of study. Please watch them and subscribe.

Showed my wife the left image of 10:41 I got a giggle and an eyeroll....
Excellent presentation. We have dug open and explored hundreds of lava tubes here in Washington and Oregon.
A quick query. How do you select the cavers in Abode of the cloud caving program? And how could one possibly become a part of it and contribute for the good cause. Thank you
Thanks for making it safe for us!
Wow! Gorgeous amazing caves! Thank you for the presentation.
What a fantastic presentation!
Some people are talking about the Movie The Rescue. This is a National Geographic Documentary and with a lot of actual footage from inside the cave, and is absolutely Brilliant, No actors just the Real Heros who where there. Don,t confuse this with Ron Howards movie 13 Lives which I have also watched and it was so dissapointing.
Agree absolutely and the feature film, although well done reduced a complex interaction of skills and cultures into an oversimplified hero story.
I used to know a Les Williams at Upper Pits, back in the 90's. I think the speaker must be the father or grandfather of the Les I knew.
Fascinating how caves are only now being scanned and modelled, time to up our game.
I have this book :) Thank you Martyn!!
The first man who found all the boys n the coach.big respect to them,🙏
Nobody ever taught you fear Rick. The Rescue was the most powerful doc I’ve ever watched. Extraordinary world changing adventure….. those boys will never forget either
Just want to let you know ‘the ‘Rescue’ was THE most powerful movie I’ve ever watched. Watched w others and solo 9 times already.
Brave people! I've never been comfortable getting into a cave. The air is sparing and it's always dark. Not to mention diving in the murky mud. Respect!
I love it!
Brings back memories of teenage caving trips on Mendip in the 70's, using helmet mounted premier carbide lamps. Miss the accents, don't get many West country accents here in New Zealand...
Poetic Justice, but at 100m depth, impressive!
Wow
What a great video

Excellent presentation by Martyn as ever. For anyone not yet aware I recommend checking out Martyn's own site which has numerous cave diving videos including the full versions of the ones shown here. And his book's a classic read too.
Les - always entertaining!
British Cave Rescue Council BCRC. Like the RNLI but they dive into muddy holes.
NASA Technology for Americans and a nicked upturned wheelie bin for the Brits in the same sentence, Ha ha , sheer class. Respect to all of the volunteers of the BCRA.
Thank you, Martyn, for sharing your discovery of Avalon with us,
Hows does providing a better date for something through radiocarbon dating have a NEGATIVE effect? Surely correcting what had been an erroneously old date to something more recent is a positive thing? More accurate = positive not negative?
This was pre-edited by the RGS. I only wish Tony could have been in shot more. Watching his energetic performance was as entertaining as the screen!
Outstanding!!
It's always a pleasure to hear Goon speaking about caves and caving.
A remarkable man in so many ways.
