Doesn't the laptop get really warm after some light to moderate use on battery ? For me typing was a little bit issue as the heat is dissipated to keyboard area too.

Based on your needs I would probably recommend something like the zephyrus g16. On sale it goes for 1500$ and is a little thinner with huge battery life improvment from the 7i. But enjoy the laptop. :D

Well It's good that you use external keyboard. My past experience with laptop taught me one thing, don't rely heavily on your laptop keyboard because when it breaks, it'll give you headache you never expected
