The smooth sound of exhaust and engine of Honda VTX 1800 S

The Honda VTX 1800 has a very smooth engine and possesses a distinctive sound, which is a combination of both the exhaust and the engine sounds. While the exhaust sound is more intuitive of a tractor, the engine sound (if tuned properly on the valves) is a very slight ticking sound of a sewing machine (to the discerning ears only. This video attempts to capture both these sounds distinctively. ...

I'm thinking of using one of those spray solutions for belts and try and eliminate the sound. Hopefully that will do the trick.

    Im loving your content about the c109 and would appreciate it if you'd post more basic maintenance videos like ( supension adjustments/service, air filter replacement etc ). Just bought mine, an 08 with 4k miles and it seems to have a surge/ hesitation in the first 3 gears at low/ steady rpms. It seems like a common issue on both the c109 and m109 according to some forums. Do you have that issue with yours? Thanks in advance.

    I own a 2009 C109RT black and red. I have the cobra street exhaust on mine and u don't just hear mine but u feel it too. I compared the ride from my C109RT with a M109R and the M109R is renowned for it's Muscle but coming from my experience the C109RT has more muscle and is all around better from speed to torque to comfort and smoothness it's a true power cruiser and they are so incredibly rare.

    • @rahulranecool

      Yes, could be a 09 thing. Sorry I am not aware of that. The studded cargo bag was a loaner from my Vulcan VN2000 as mine from the 109RT was borrowed by a friend for a trip.

    so the rear wheel was not tracking straight. Sometimes the marks on the swing arm don’t line up correctly on the axle marks. Here is the shore way to do it. I did this on my factory Road racers back in the day. I never trusted the swing arm marks, because at very high speed, you can put you into a high-speed tank slapper.. get a piece of white string about 20 feet long. By the way, I have a video on TH-cam showing how to do this on my Kawasaki Z 400 .. you get to the middle of the string and wrap it around the front wheel about 6 inches off the ground at the front of the tire. You bring the two equal lengths of string down both sides of the bike, and pull them one on each side of the rear tire. Do you have someone sit on the bike and try to hold the front wheel straight.. you can tell it straight if the string is making contact with the tire and four places.. sometimes it helps to put a spacer on each side under the string in the front wheel, so that the front tire is as wide as the back tire with the spacers, holding the string out to make the front as wide as the rear tire now lay on the ground and eyeball the string, holding it about six or eight or 10 inches off the ground just so that it clears the discs, sprockets, whatever you will be able to see very easily, if the rear wheel is pointed in exactly the same direction as the front wheel, using the tight string on both sides. If it is not perfectly straight, tracking behind the front wheel, loosen the axle and adjust it, then make a note of where your indicators on your axle slides are in reference to the swingarm marks. You can check your marks, or you can see how close they are or how far off they are that way.. I saw that being done in the pits of the factory Road race teams. They were checking to see if the frame was still straight after a crash. I was talking to one of the mechanics, and he said, string don’t lie.

    So oil level is to the bottom mark of dipstick, correct?

    • @MrJaxco
      @MrJaxco 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe that is just for checking his initial fill to know not to overfill the oil. If ya think about it, twisting it down from there will probably put the oil right in the middle of those cross hatches. So properly filled when touching the bottom of dipstick before tightening it down.

    You’re assuming the swing arm is perfectly symmetrical, and that may not be how Kawasaki calibrated the notches just saying The other thing I’ve heard, and I believe it’s true is that the belt on the V2K should actually ride a little bit to the outboard side of the pulleys not directly in the middle, I don’t know if you read or heard about that

    • @rahulranecool
      @rahulranecool ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Measurements and references were made from the front as well to arrive at this. The video has been made to give the final results, so people can benefit. Also squeal free riding takes the fun to another level. Yes I've heard some people say let it ride on the left. Most shops will go by the factory calibration which is the belt on the left anyway.

    • @corneilcorneil
      @corneilcorneil ปีที่แล้ว

      It is impossible to let the belt travel at the same spot. If adjusted correctly, make a long left turn... the belt travels to the left side of the pulley. Iden dite for a long right turn.
