    A selection from the Tantra of the Great Liberation, the Mantra Sastra and the Garland of Letters shows that the supposedly meaningless Bija (seed) mantras invoke TM Hindu gods. For example, "AING" is a name for Saraswati. We also discuss the meaning of "advanced techniques". As further evidence that TM mantras are well known and available across India, we add statements from the Kropinski case showing that TM is no different from Japa (mantra repetition) as taught by Swami Sivananda - and can be derived from his teachings. "" When is a meaningless sound not meaningless? If it's a tantric name of a Hindu god "" [up ] * "Night Techniques" From the late 1960s to at least the late 1980s, various advanced technology teachers of the TM movement taught long-time TMers the notorious "night technique". As is so often the case, this "advanced technology" has changed a lot over time. Below are variations uncovered by long-term anonymous practitioners. "

      Transcendental meditation is presented as a secular practice with no religious affiliation. As a former TM teacher, I can attest that the truth is exactly the opposite. THE PUJA - AN OLD HINDU RITUAL A puja is an ancient Hindu ritual or ceremonial worship, the purpose of which is to create a channel of transmission from a Hindu god to whoever performs or participates in the puja ceremony. Objects of worship can be various Hindu deities or gurus who are believed to embody the divine.

    I don't normally use a mantra while meditating, I simply focus on my breath at first and any steady sounds around me and that puts me into the 'no thought zone' no problem! Eventually I am right there, no need to repeat a mantra or use a specific technique, just so long as you get into that flow state... In my opinion

    • @babajaiy8246
      @babajaiy8246 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true, but there is a secondary benefit of using specific mantra sounds(other than facilitating a transcending process), that occurs over long periods of time using them(years). Also understanding the purpose and process of a technique(if one is using it) can be more useful to some people. I remember talking to a neighbor and on a topic I suggested they learn how to meditate. They 'complained' they can't get their mind to 'sit still'. The had such a strong reaction based on what they believed a meditation should be and should not be, the conversation couldn't continue because of it.

    • @mikeboosh8776
      @mikeboosh8776 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using that same approach (breath focus) for a couple of years now, and frankly always found it quite difficult... hitting that 'no thought zone' is a bit haphazard for me and although I usually get something out of a session it's often a chore. I've been trying mantra meditation for only a short while now (couple of weeks) and have so far found it much easier to reach that same state, pretty much every time, with less effort. I suspect people are better suited to either one technique or another, and probably need to try both.

      Just pick 3 random syllables. The important thing is they shouldn't have any particular meaning or remind you of anything - the aim is to avoid anything that makes you think of a particular subject, you just want noise that's going to bore your mind into submission. For example, use "eee arrr omm". If that doesn't work, try some different sounds. I'm not a certified master, but then again I'm not charging you 2 grand.

Still, your point has validity even to a person such as myself who is very unhappy and anxious and has not enough money. Crazy as it sounds I try hard to not drown. Hence my looking for a solution. I literally have a hard time doing the most basic things for myself. I do not love myself and as such am not even really able to do something for myself. So when I found TM, or information about TM, I did feel disheartened by the price. Because, I truly felt as if I had found something pure. Something I may 1 day invest enough in to become a teacher myself and return this gift to others. I‘m 47 years old and wanting to be, just be, me, myself. I have not travelled since a teen, I have not had the pleasure of having kids, never had a job and the man I loved for 25 years left me. I feel grateful for his love for 25 years. But now, I just really want to find some stability and peace. How? No idea. I wondered for a moment if TM would be a tool. But at such a price I could neither do it for myself nor ever become a teacher. So yes, in my ideal world people should not have to pay for spiritual guidance. In the real world, those who are lacking money often become those in need of such tools that are expensive, too expensive. Do I want to change the world? Yes… I hurt no animal, try and respect nature and live too isolated most of the time to meet many people. But the little I do is my way of contributing and this is, smiling at nearly all who walk past me. I feel if every single person on this planet felt some happiness, peace or contentment… violence would cease to be and then the beauty of the world would reveal itself in all its splendor. I do feel sad I do not contribute more than a smile, truly. But yeah, maybe little things add to a better planet also? I just have 1 cheeky question for you, how did you or why did you end up on this video? If ever you, or anyone else, wants a more chat- like version of communication do find me on IG at @NatureTalking. Have a wonderful day…. :).

    A handy dandy tip. I was taught by a lady who back in the 60’s, met with the Maharishi. And I was taught under the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation Foundation. The lady who taught me always said to close the eyes, wait for about a minute before starting your Mantra. I don’t feel bad letting some of my knowledge on this out, after all, they charged me so much money that, every time I would meditate, and drifted from the Mantra to a thought, the thought would 70% of the time be “why did I waste my money on a technique that I could do?” But when I wen’t into a blissful state on the odd meditation, That would remind myself why I payed for it. But I still believe it should be free. You even have to sign a confidentiality paper stating that you will not attempt to teach anyone, be it stranger, friend or family member. But I don’t feel I’m breaking that by sharing a tip like waiting a minute before saying your mantra. Anyways, I’m open to giving more ‘tips’, not ‘teachings’ as that would be breaking those terms.

      @@JohnMoseley Hey John, sure thing! I have been meaning to get back to Lauren here as well, so I'll try and give you both the most detailed tips I possibly can. So, TIP 1 is like I said before... When beginning a meditation session, start by making sure your sat in a chair with your back straight and possibly have a cushion or two behind you to make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes and wait for about minute before you start repeating the mantra. TIP 2, when you start repeating the mantra in your head, do not question how you are pronouncing it or how fast or slow the rhythm of the repetition. And certainly, do not change or manipulate the way the mantra comes to you in the session. Remember, each session will be different and sometimes the mantra will be slower or faster, sometimes the pronunciation will be a little different. (If you payed to learn from a professional TM teacher like I did, they should remind you that if you forget your mantra or think you need to get it checked, they will do this for you at both your next convenience). TIP 3, don't hold on to the mantra yet, do not stray too far from it either. My teacher had a saying "innocently favour the mantra". This means that when a thought comes you should not reject it after the first realisation that its there. You know your doing it right when you repeat the mantra and all of a sudden, you realise you have spent half a minute on a thought, so then just move back to the mantra until the same thing happens. Sometimes, an overwhelming state of bliss may hit you like a tone of bricks and it can be so beautiful that it honestly has you fearing that if you carry on with mantra or stay on a thought that the bliss state you just entered will fade. The truth is, it will fade as quick as your attention is usually on a thought. But what is important is that you let go when the bliss state happens and when it stops overwhelming you, you should go back to the mantra. TIP 4, Do not try to find meaning from the thoughts you have, they are just a by-product of a past trauma (big or small) and the thoughts are a way of your body and mind healing in TM. You are told to have 2 meditation sessions a day, 1 in the morning before 7am (no when after 7am, although I rarely stuck to this in the beginning) and 1 in the afternoon. We were told you shouldn't eat an hour before meditation (although drinking water should be ok as I remember on those cold, dark December evenings, walking to my local TM centre and being offered boiled water to drink. So, it may have been that she was either being cheap or there really may be some health benefits to this). Anyways, all of these tips came from my knowledge that I learned from my TM teacher. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to respond. Happy meditating!

    Monks use like an "Ng" sound; it is closest to a sine wave while simultaneously vibrating your core to "stimulate" Chakras. Everyone's pitch is different--i recommend the vibrations as they induce trance way faster than not.

      Hi Adam, I was foolish and payed a lot of money to be taught by a lady who was taught by the Maharishi back in the 60’s. I started learning back in December of last year under the Maharishi Foundation. I think I can help you out here. Step 1. Make sure your sat up straight making sure your back is not crooked (prop a pillow or two behind you). Step 2. (And this is where I think your issue may be), you need to close your eyes and do nothing for roughly 1 minute. Then you can proceed with saying your mantra in your head (the speed, pitch and pronounciation that you use the mantra cannot and should not be controlled by you, it should come as it is, do not manually change the speed, pitch or pronounciation midway through your meditation because the mantra may come to you slightly differently on each session). Step 3. When you begin repeating your mantra in your head, do not cling to. My teacher always said “innocently favour the mantra”, you know your doing it right when you stop repeating it and are in a thought for a few seconds until you then realise you have drifted and should return to the mantra. Step 4. Repeat the process or repeating the mantra and drifting to thought. You will find some thoughts pleasent, horrible, happy, angry, weird and some just plain won’t make sense but it is important to realise they hold no importance and that you shouldn’t interporate their meaning, their just a product of you removing negative clutter. Step 5. When you feel 20 minutes have been (or you have an app with a timer that sounds a gong after 20 minutes), then it is important that you do not come out and open your eyes straight away. What you must do is, stop the mantra and very slowly start coming out of any thought you were in, taking roughly 2-3 minutes to very slowly open your eyes. Remember, breathing should not be deep during this form of meditation, it should be the opposit, shallow, un-noticable and calm. If you think you have to focus on your breathing and mantra, then you are wrong. Only the mantra, breath as you would watching the television, doing the ironing, my point is when your doing those things, do you think of your breathing? No, Because your focused on the task at hand. Transcendental Meditation is no different, your just closing the eyes and focusing on the mantra, not the breathing. I really hope this helped you Adam, please try this out and let me know if it helped, I really would like to know. All the best!

      Aryeh Siegel is a former Transcendental Meditation teacher who left the cult and reveals its hidden Hindu practices. He is the author of "Transcendental Deception". Learn more at Transcendental meditation is presented as a secular practice with no religious affiliation. While Maharishi seems to have made it up, there are many variations of pujas, but all of them serve essentially the same function. In puja, offerings are made to the object of devotion, often represented by a painting or an idol, in order to deserve his love and blessings. The offerings - usually fruits, candles, incense, flowers - symbolize the devotion of mind, body, thoughts, desires, actions and possessions to divine beings or gurus and enjoy everything that may come back as a gift from them. The deity or guru, whose image is worshiped in the puja, is considered to be the living incarnation of the deity. They are treated as if the deity had descended from above and actually inhabited the image.
