Chasing the automotive dream
Buying A Porsche 911 Turbo & Driving it 3,200 Miles Home
4 days, 11 states, and 3200 miles later, I was able to drive one of my dream cars home from San Francisco, California, back home to Connecticut. I'm so excited to drive it around and build it to be one of the most unique 996 Turbos out there. Don't worry though, the Alltrack will be staying ;)

What's the suspension setup on that alltrack? Also what wheels are those
Bilstein B4 with Golf R springs and Audi TT top hats in the rear. Wheels are OEM Tiguan SEL-R line wheels from a 2019-2020
Concord toyota?? TH-cam suggestions getting to close to home
Small world haha
How much you paid if its not a secret?
35K
@BrendonWagner is definitely worth iti Once you sort out little issues, you will have 1 solid car
😂😂😂😂
A road trip in your freshly obtained sports coupe? WINNING 🏆
That was impressive, they really look good, i assume they are a lot more comfortable than the standard Alltrack seats....... i will find out soon enough when i pick mine up.
Huge improvement over the base seats in my opinion, it’s been one of my favorite mods so far
That looks good, i am about to get a 2016 uk version of this car and i had not thought of replacing them with the Golf R seats.
Looking at getting a 2016 one of these in the same colour, a 2.0tdi but being in the UK i doubt i will get anywhere near this kind of terrain. As long as it will cope with a bit of ice (if we ever seen any again), that will be fine.
sweet pick up...got mine in CA early August!
Thanks!
Nice ride bro! My fav Turbo (aside the 993 for 10x the price). ENJOY AND BE SAFE. God bless. Amen✝️
Thank you! 993s are amazing, but for the price, this 996 is still great
All season tires? This is a joke
Nice video! Those codes are all easy fixes. I missed what the abs psm code was. Congratulations on a sweet car!
Loved this vid so much, congrats on the car
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Great video and nice 996 turbo. That and the mk2 golf make a badass garage👌🏽
Thank you! Now I have to finish building my MK2 haha
@BrendonWagner No problem. Enjoy the builds
Best looking 911
Safari build eh? Subscribed. And great road trip! That's not an easy one.
I appreciate the support! That's the goal, I'll be working at it to have the car done within the next year
Fireeee videoooooo
Was shopping around for a 997 and took it for a PPI. Luckily the tech drove it for a few miles and an engine light came on. Later he found it was reset by the dealership and diagnosed it with misfires and borescoring. Saved my wallet big time. The dealer was called J&S autohaus. Run don’t walk.
No way! Concord Toyota?! I literally live like 10 min from that dealership!
so glad people are starting to appreciate the egg-lights
Can't go wrong with a 996.2
Congrats and welcome to the fried egg family 😎
Haha thanks!
Gracias gracias me estaba volviendo loco ..todos los tutoriales heran para el yetta
can I ask why you went on the west coast?
This car was 15k under market, and also for dad lore
put some seafoam in that thing
I plan on buying this car in India. I plan on driving close to 100,000 miles and keep it for 10 or so years. I have used some vw cars like polo vento jetta and octavia vrs in India. Tiguan has a dq381 , 7 speee dsg in india
Very cool, best of luck with your purchase!
Hello, I love your videos, the cars are very cool, maybe you are interested in making a review video of an in-dash car stereo or Carplay smart box? We can give you the product for free!
Great video
Thanks!
Epic road trip!
It sure was!
Where was that huge flat area in the beginning where you were doing donuts?
the Bonneville Salt Flats
Congratulations, on a Beautiful car and what is sure to be many wicked adventures! Just heard your comment from Toledo, under 21 and you have yo7r own Turbo! Double good for you!
Thank you for the kind words!
Awesome video and car man. Congrats! What a rip on i80. I had fun following along.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Congrats!!! 🎉
Thanks!
worthless video, your tires are trash.
2:25 why not sit down at some table that they have at in n out to EAT the food instead of eating it in a parked car next to the restaurant? Sorry I am not from the USA and never understood how you guys can eat in the car, when there are other options available haha
I was in the bay area and heard about how bad car break-ins are in the area, and I didn't want to leave all my camera gear and computer in the car when I ate. Good question though, I tried to eat inside once I got out of California lol
Congrats on the car! I just drove back my 997.2 C4S from Utah to SF, great way to get acquainted with the car
Thank you! I was originally looking for a 997.1, but this was a deal I couldn't turn down. Enjoy your new car!
peak male experience
They cleared the codes on the car to give it to you.
Possibly, but I also put more miles on it in 4 days than it drove over the last 5 years. It seems like a simple fix so hopefully it should work out okay
Damn man! Cool car and what an awesome video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Flew to Phoenix and drove my 996tts to Seattle. MAF prolly not it. Could have cleaned it to check. Replace all boost hoses, connectors and sensors. Lower the motor to get access. Might as well do motor mounts at the same time. Cheers
Thank you for your input, I will look into it
140 THOUSAND miles ?!
its like a 20 year old car! thats great for 20 years especially if its been well maintained. let the kid live, damn
There's a guy in Boston with 700k miles on his, the Mezger motors are very solid. I also didn't have $80,000 to spend on a 996 haha
@@BrendonWagnerenjoy it and live your life bro! Congratulations 🤝🏾
@@thejbjournal i was selling mine red with 67k miles
The Mass Air Flow and O2 sensor codes for me ended up being a leak in the turbo inlet hoses to the Y pipe and a vacuum leak. New MAF, not fixed. $2 coupling O-ring, and $1 worth of vacuum hose, fixed. For the traction control error, check your wheel sensors and make sure you clean out all the salt from connectors, sensors, and especially body metal. Good luck.
Thank you, I will look into it. I unplugged the MAF when I got home and the CEL went away, I already ordered the new sensor so I will try and throw it in somewhat soon
The salt flats remind me of when i was a kid. we had a hard mud flat and that was where I learnt to drive. Everyone should do this as part of their learning how to drive course.
If you really want to take it to the next level, hit up Bill at EuroZoneTuning north of Hartford, CT and get him to install (or do it yourself) the 9.2" MIB2.5 infotainment unit. I got it done on my 2018 Sportwagen S and it is a game-changing upgrade for the interior and center console. amazing. double the resolution, gps, ssd in the cpu brain for music storage...........can't recommend it enough, if you can afford it!
Culvers bacon deluxe with everything onion rings and cheese curds with cheese dipping sauce. Your order is good too though, been there done that! :)
Hahaha glad to hear it, I'll give our order a try next time I make it to a Culver's
Congrats What a beauty!! Connecticut here too. I did the same with my Macan GTS this past August, I flew down to Nashville on a Thursday, did paperwork Friday AM, came back Friday night and had it shipped home a week later. ( didn't want to drive the 1100 mies). If you need service / any work done, check out Musante Autosports in S. Windsor, I just had my 40k service done there, it's an awesome shop, was recommended by a few people to them.
That's awesome! thank you for the shop recommendation, my mom also just bought a Macan with 40k miles so I will keep that place in mind for suture larger services
Wondering how all your codes turned out once you got home and dug into them a little deeper? Always wanted to make a trip like this one. Buy a cool car far, far away and drive it home. You need a wingman though.
Please explain why it looks like an RHD Turbo. Great story.
man you could have put your car on red in Vegas and gotten two 911 turbos!!
Hahaha, I could have also walked home afterwards ;)
Thats dope, one my favorite cars. How much was it?
Easily like 50k. Could have been 60k or 40k for all we know
35K plus taxes, very under market haha which is why I flew across the country for it
@@BrendonWagner Ooooh thats a steal, damn I need to be on the look out too
@@MrEarlyMusic I had a very luck late night autotrader search haha
Love it man, I've recently pick up my 996 turbo from Salt lake city and drove it back to Denver.
Thank you! That’s awesome, I love that area of the country
