What a crazy landing. I know during strong storm bigger jets use the 22 for landing but i thought max size is a A321. Amazing to see an A 330 landing there.

Ridiculous! Hard is relative and not easily possible to determine from a video.

Didn’t slide off into the Columbia River, No banging, the overhead storage stayed in place…whoever made this ride/video has NEVER experienced a HARD landing….or sliding round & round on ice before. Coming into PDX that was a great landing! If you want a rough ride, fly into DFW, LOVE FEILD or anywhere in tornado alley during severe weather and tornado season!! That will rearrange seating pretty quickly. As far as ice on the runway, the South closes during ice storms bc the Govt didn’t allow $$$$ for equipment to take care of roads/runways or even have electricity during ice storms at least in DFW. Even if they did allow the funds, no one in the DFW area knows how to drive in icy conditions so they still close everything. 😊

Even with a good tough landing, I can see door bolts loosening,,along with all the rest. The ice storm was a bitty bit bad. We had 8°. Everything went to bald ice. Mail was EXTREMELY late. Not Northern Idaho mess, but a good picture into that for a day or so. NO ONE here knows how to drive in it.

From the title, I was expecting the plane to be going sideways down the runway (haha), but this looked pretty normal to me....thanks for the full description of what happened and the flight details. Good thing your plug door didn't fly off on the -900ER. I like your channel name, I am one of those window seat people who always keeps my window shade open too.

I know this feeling! I was on a flight to hawaii on an a330, and as we landed it used its reverse thrust, and it was probably the loudest reverse thrust ive ever heard

Even that firm landing looked smooth. It is like the A330 is just unable to slam a touchdown. It must be a really nice aircraft to fly on as a pilot and a passenger!
