Nissan Armada Gibson Exhaust - 12213
มุมมอง 14K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the Gibson Performance Exhaust Single Cat-back 12213 on my 08 Armada. The video does not do it justice. It is not the loudest exhaust, but it gives it a nice growl while limiting the drone. Perfect for you guys who want a nice upgrade but don't want to make the wife mad! Link to the exhaust: gibsonperformance.com/i-22729683-single-exhaust-system-aluminized-12213.html
2008 Nissan Armada Oil Cooler Gasket
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a quick video on the oil cooler gasket replacement on an Armada, Titan, or QX56. This is a pretty common leak on these models. Fortunately, it is a really simple repair. 2008 Nissan Armada Oil Change
มุมมอง 18K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This vehicle has the 5.6L V8. It takes 6.5 qts of 5W-30 oil. Filter used is an AC Delco PF2057. Hope this helps!
What kind of grease are you using?
Thank you didn’t realize I had to twist the piston in🤨. Used your needle nosed pliers trick, worked well. Thanks again 👍🏼
How much was it.
You didn't even show how you installed the pads!
So you have to twist it?
yes to compress the rear calipers
Im renting the tool for the piston from NAPA around $70 I really hope I wont be replacing the caliper latter. Mine wont go in with the alligator pliers. The bolts don't come off as easy as in many of these videos or at least my didn't. Before you begin get a 12-14" pipe that will slip over your ratchet or breaker bar for added leverage. (This would have been easy on a lift with air tools!) Use never sieze graphite grease when you assemble (in the right locations). I sprayed everything with brake clean and my hands still where black. You may want to wear gloves.. I used a 13mm and 14mm socket for the bolts. Good Luck!
How do you completely remove the parking break on this car? Dealership said there is no replacement cable and the cable needs to be completely removed due to the wire is exposed. Thanks!
Great video, but fyi the torx bolts don't need to be put back on. If you live in a rust belt region you'll never put them back on as they seize. They are only used to make it easier for assembly line when the car is put together. If you _do_ decide to reuse them, I'd definitely recommend antiseize on the threads. Another thing I do when working on Fusions is I use regular/thin wall sockets to take off the lugs. Most cars I use impact sockets, but the impact ones don't recess deep into the wheel because there isn't a lot of clearance and the impact sockets are thicker. By using thin walled deep sockets I have had better luck at removing them without destroying the cheap casing. But yeah, they are bad. Ford did a lousy job making them. Again, great video.
Any idea why it only fit only 2004 to 2011?
I would assume it would but I really don't know. They look the same but manufacturers always make little changes every year even if its the same generation. Perhaps after 2011 something was moved that changed the route of the exhaust?
It’s says 04 to 11 would it fit a 2015?
I wanted to get one for my 2012 but apparently it doesn't fit the ones after 2011. I thought they were all the same from 2004 to 2015 but guess not
I felt it in my soul when you said be really careful with those lug nuts. just bought a box of new ones. lol
Right? Horrible material for lugs.
Did this on a 2008 Nissan Titan! Without removing the plastic! Super easy! Thank you!
What size gasket do you need for this truck???
I would just get on any parts site and put in your vehicles information. It'll pull up the right size.
Can you tell me the socket sizes I will be needing?
I'm sorry I don't remember and don't have this car anymore. A quick google search will tell you, but if I recall correctly, a regular metric set will get the job done.
@@seanysockets7391 13 AND 14 MM For the braket and caliper bolts.
Is all that oil leaked around the area from that gasket? I have a 2007 Nissan Armada LE that seem to be leaking from that gasket but is very low noticeable it doesn’t cause oil all over and that’s one of the things I want to prevent by replacing it soon . Thanks in advance!
Yea I have the 2007 and I just fixed it
Yes, eventually it will leak pretty badly. I waited waaaaay to long to change mine. Good idea to get ahead of it.
Did you have good oil psi? Or was it low when it failed?
I never had an error code or anything but if its a bad enough leak i would think it’s definitely possible.
Question if your still replying to comments. I replaced the rotors and pads on my Fusion same year. My rear left were making a terrible scratching sound, when i removed the left caliper the pad material was completely gone. The right one had normal ware. when we were trying to put the rear left caliper back around the brake pads it was a pain to push it back but we eventually got it, but after both sides were done I took it for a test drive came back and it smell like something burning. we came to the conclusion that the rear left caliper is constantly pushing on the pads and that is why the first pair was totally gone. Do you think the caliper can be repaired or should I just get a new one?
My opinion is to replace the calipers when they are having issues like that. Yes, they can be repaired or rebuilt, but sometimes its worth saving the time and just purchasing a new one. They usually arent that expensive either.
Would this oil leak be the reason for white smoke when starting up the armada?
White smoke is typically from coolant being burnt. So unless the cooler is leaking coolant into the system, it’s probably not connected. A professional would know for sure though
Sounds like valve covers. Had the same problem. Change the valve covers and gaskets and boom noooo smookkeeyyy smoookeyyyyy
Are the brake pads the same as the v6 and v4 ford fusion because I brought v4 brake pads by accident for my v6 ford fusion just wondering
I honestly dont know. A quick google search will tell you. Or look up the part number on the pads.
Mercury Milan and zephyr, and all the fusions up to 2012 have the same breaks
My 2004 nissan armada oil level is going to the h while driving can you tell me what that means
If Im thinking correctly, that means you have high oil pressure. I would get it checked out, personally.
@@seanysockets7391 yes exactly what would cause that it acts up when its really hot outside and when i start my car it already moves to the h
It can happen when things are clogged in the engine. I am sure there are other reasons, however.
Replace those lug nuts ASAP. They’ll leave you stranded one day. The vice grip trick is great, thanks! Torque the caliper carry bolt, and do not use anti seize on it otherwise it will loosen and the caliper comes out. Don’t ask how I know that!!
Good tip! I wont ask lol. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Great tip for getting the piston to go down. I just bought a C clamp🤦🏽♀️
You need that for most cars! I got lucky on this one.
Mmh I tried doing my brake job but had to stop and go to mechanic as those couldn’t go down.
was there a black and orange o ring on there or just one orange one, look like an orange one in the middle and a black one on the outside
Its just the orange one. Looks like a black one but its just gunk and oil.
@@seanysockets7391 question I need to drain the oil ? Or I can remove only the filter ? My oil is only 2 weeks old , thanks
@@watchmanexpert i didnt have to drain it personally. Whatever was in the cooler drained out so you’ll need to top the oil off when youre done but thats it.
Thanks for video
I have an 07 and they put conventional oil then synthetic and back to conventional. Will that mess the truck up?
Everything i have heard says that it shouldn’t hurt it at all! These things are made for conventional but i actually just switched to synthetic. runs fine. I wouldnt put conventional in anything meant for synthetic though.
thank you very much for the video, going to change my oil this weekend.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
What size are those screws on the rotors
Are you talking about the screws that hold the rotor to the hub? Theyre just torx bolts
@@seanysockets7391 But what size torx bolt? I will need to buy one. Thanks.
@@geoffofks57 t40
Good video. Yours is simple and to the point. Plenty of lighting to show everything. Thank you. FYI. Dealers are into gouging. No matter what a dealer will not replace the gasket. They will sell you a cooler and the gasket replacement for $500 not including labor$.
Thank you for that. Thats ridiculous. No surprised though.
@@seanysockets7391 yep I’m about to do mine that’s what dealers do “flim flam” lol
You installed this kit in april of 2020...any issues or concerns since you installed them?
None at all. They get the job done. Thanks for watching.
Im about to replace my wife's rear brakes on her 2012 ford fusion. It doesnt look like i need that fancy tool... a pair of needle nose pliers work huh? Another thing if the brakes are locked tight would i hurt anything prying them off.
Needle nose plyers worked fine for me! Just be careful. If the caliper is fully pressing the pads into the rotor, you could try using a flatbed screw driver to get under it and sort of wiggle it loose. You could try a rubber mallet too. I’ve never had much of a problem getting them off. Just dont damage the pads, rotors, or caliper.
Where exactly did you locate the floor jack? I really don't see a suitable place to set up the jack, in order to get both front tires off the ground.
If I recall correctly, there are indented arrows along the frame rails that point to where a good spot is. Pretty sure there’s even a metal lip sticking out for the jack stands.
@@seanysockets7391 Yes, after doing a bit more research, I did locate the arrows, and yes, the rear jacking points have a protrusion that slips into the jack stand cradle. Have you bled your Brakes? If yes, did you do it by yourself, or did you have assistance? What method did you use? Thanks !!!
@@griffmustard glad you found it. I have bled the brakes at one wheel. I made a self bleeder tool out of a bottle and fuel line. chris fix has a helpful video on that i think. At the end of the day, it was quickest for me to have someone press the brakes for me while i opened and closed the valve. Doable by yourself though. Just takes longer.
@@seanysockets7391 OK.......Thanks Man !!!!
I usually do the pill change to my sienna. I’ll be doing my friend’s semana next week. Can I just go under the car without using any jack? Is it ok ? I do that in my sienna 06. Pls. Let me know if you have any knowledge or opinion about it. Ty.
Have you heard of Armada's having the issue with radiator/transmission problem, like they had on the 4.0 Pathfinders?
I haven’t! Mine’s still going strong at 190k miles
yes same crap where clamps begin to loosen up or tranny and coolant fluid get mixed. i had just recently installed an external transmission cooler.
I hope to be getting at 2008 LE FFV soon. What are some things watch for?
Good for you! You'll love it. Definitely watch out for the cracked headers Armadas and Titans are notorious for in this generation. Also, the oil cooler gasket will leak and need swapped out (easy fix - I made a video when I changed mine). Lastly, I believe there is a common power steering leak in one of the hoses.
Didn't even let us hear how it sounds.
🤣 you didn't stick around long enough
Same thing happen to my qx56. I saw your video and order the same exhaust
Manos5k nice! I looked at it as an opportunity to get a cool exhaust lol.
Did u say the drain plug was a 14mm?another video said 19mm just making sure
Yes, mine has a 14 mm bolt on it. Thanks for watching!
Yes its a 14 mm
