Restoration Broken Blade - @RedRustRestoration ⚒️
Restoration a chef's knife with the broken stainless steel blade.
This knife was abandoned in the garden of my house among the plants and is made of excellent stainless steel Tramontina brand, the main problem is that the blade was broken and in order not to temper it and ruin the edge I had to cut it very carefully so as not to raise its temperature too much. The problem of tempering the steel is very important because the blade will dull very quickly, this will cause the knife to tear or break instead of getting a clean and neat cut.
Apart from repairing the steel blade, I removed the old plastic handle and replaced it with a new solid wood handle with bronze rivets that I made from some old keys I had.
For the restoration, follow these steps:
00:00 Broken stainless steel blade.
00:18 Remove the old plastic handle.
01:22 Restoration of the stainless steel blade.
03:30 Openwork of the new wooden handle.
05:54 Preparation of the aluminum guard/heel of the knife.
09:14 Assembly and gluing of all parts.
10:05 Creation and turning of bronze rivets.
10:39 Carving of the wooden handle.
12:57 Riveting of the handle.
13:58 Oiling, polishing and sharpening of the restored knife.
14:57 Result of the restoration before and after.
Material used:
Microfiber edding
Masking Tape 3M
Epoxi Glue Poxipol
Antioxidant Spray WD-40
Flap Disc DeWalt / Tyrolit
Teak Oil
Sandpaper
Whetstone
Safety elements used:
Safety Glasses
Earplugs
Leather Work Gloves
Nitrile Gloves

Vintage Press Restoration ⚒️
This old and rusty cast iron press was used in ancient times to extract meat juice or also called meat tea. It was a type of broth, made with beef and water, that was given to patients to drink if they suffered from digestive problems, fever or weakness. People believed that tea was nutritious and easy on the stomach, which would help patients regain their former strength. The benefits of makin...
Old Hand Water Pump Restoration
A few days ago I went to visit my uncle who sells antiques, he buys them, repairs them and sells them, and among the things he had I found this old hand water pump and I proposed to restore it, and since he didn't have time to repair it, because I had to finish restoring other old tools for the fair of antique objects and cars called AutoClásica, I graciously accepted, but he made it a conditio...
Restoration Antique Hand Grinder - @RedRustRestoration ⚒️
I did this restoration on this old hand crank grinder I found on the shelf in the attic. It was all covered in grease and a lot of dust, but it still worked, and I thought it would be a good challenge to make a restoration video. When I began to test the operation I realized that something was not right and it stuck when trying to turn the crank. Disassembling and cleaning the grinder I found t...
Old Anchico Butcher Kitchen Knife ⚒️
How to restore this kitchen knife? I found this old cleaver stored in an old drawer, it is an old butcher's ax or also called a meat axe, this old manual tool was used for butchering meat. Restoring the old blade involved removing rust, repairing broken parts, filing, sanding, polishing, and making a new Anchico Colorado handle, among other things. How to restore this rusty knife? The knife was...
Make Bayonet M-9 and Kerambit
You softened the blade. You needed to temper it again. That knife won't hold an edge.
Hello, thanks for the comment, the blade never softened, never went untempered, because the cut was made by very slow wear without raising the temperature but in the video it is accelerated so as not to bore, the knife cuts perfectly, I have been using it for months in my kitchen. Thanks Greetings
@RedRustRestoration 👍✌️😜

Te ha quedado de categoría, felicidades.
Hola, muchas gracias 👍👍
Not restauration! you destroyed it!!
Hi, that depends on the point of view, this had become a practically useless object, garbage, and the idea was to restore it to give it a second chance to be used as a knife and it turned out very well. Thanks for the comment, Greetings 😉👍
Olağanüstü..
Çok teşekkür ederim, yorumunuz için çok minnettarım. Selamlar
TOP JOB BACK IN THE CUT

Ok - die Klinge bekam ein 2. Leben.

Wait...the blade was chipped way higher in the middle than what the fixed one was. I call shenanigans
Hi, all our videos are 100% real, we don't do any tricks or replacements. thanks for the comment Regards
It would be nice if the knife was old... This is a modern knife that costs 4 dollars. Just go buy it
Hi, yes, it is a good point, another point of view could be to restore an object that people discard as garbage because it is broken and give it a second chance and thus make life on the planet more sustainable. Thanks for the comment Regards

You just spent 4x what that knife is worth. I love people who renovate items, but dang, it has to be worth it.
Hello, The knife is made of good quality steel. This German steel is widely used by Victorinox and Cold Steel. And in general, DIN 1.4110 steel is mainly used for folding, kitchen and cutting knives. What are the advantages of knives made of DIN 1.4110 steel? Firstly, this steel is very resistant to corrosion. It is this property that allows it to be used in the manufacture of kitchen knives that are constantly in contact with water and other liquids. Secondly, the DIN 1.4110 steel blade is easy to sharpen and adjust. It is this steel that allows you to effortlessly hold the knife's edge. It is best to use a ceramic grinder or sharpener for this. All these positive qualities are backed up by a very affordable price. So, if you are going to buy a knife made of DIN 1.4110 steel, you will have a good assistant for many years. Chemical composition of DIN 1.4110 steel: Cr (chromium) 14-15%; Mo (molybdenum) 0.5-0.8%; V (vanadium) 0.1-0.2%; C (carbon) 0.45-0.55%; Si (silicon) 1%; Mn (manganese) 1%. With proper processing and hardening, the hardness of the steel reaches 55-57 on the Rockwell scale. Thank You!!!!
@RedRustRestoration thank you for explaining. Makes sense. Good job.
Excellent job. Congratulation.
