As per the IIT norms, we used bicycles. All the buildings be it hostel or mess hall are air conditioned so we always ate peacefully.

Hey Himanshu, the CAT cut-off gets updated each and every year, this also depends on a lot of factors like category, gender, etc. I am not aware of the exact numbers here but I would say, the CAT cut-off is just one of the multiple aspects which decide your cumulative/composite score. This cumulative/composite score is the deciding factor when it comes to selection. I will get back to you once I have the exact cutoff with me.

Though I do not know the exact cutoff but as per the best of my knowledge, this percentile should give you a chance, so you should apply, no doubt about that.

Gap years does not matter, buddy until and unless you describe what productive you did in that year besides studying for the CAT for example, when I took a gap year and studied for CAT, I used to also take care of my father's business for a few hours every day, that way I was able to successfully defend this gap year in each and every interview. Similarly, if not family business, you can opt for part-time jobs, freelancing or internships so that we can showcase that we just dint use the entire year for CAT prep, we also up-skilled ourselves and contributed to family livelihood.
