What are the average price to rent a house in District 1, long-term? A range of 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom/two bathroom homes would be good. Form average neighbourhoods to great neighbourhoods is OK, say 20 million+ VND. Also, what would a 10 or 15 million VND home to rent would look like in District 1? (Maybe there are none at that price! Let me know either way.)

I live in Germany...minimum here is 1300-1500 euros for doing anything...truck driver about 2600 euros, engineers earn about 3-5k upwards...Austria is even better...about 1000 euros more then in Germany...probably going to move there. Switzerland is even better but very expensive cost of living...kebab is about 14 Swiss Francs. If an engineer in Asia is working for a western company and gets 1000$ - that is exploitation!

HCMC is a beautiful city with very reasonable living cost. I think HCMC workers earn better than in Jakarta. We might earn similar income but living cost in Jakarta is a bit more expensive, especially in business district comparable to District 1 (SCBD) a modest lunch at street food vendor usually set at IDR 25k (1.5 USD) for a serving of rice with 1 kind of vegs and 1 kind of protein.

Most Vietnamese earn well below 10 million Vnd per month. Just think of the typical people you bump into on the streets on any given day in Saigon - office clerk, restaurant server, coffee barrista, security guard, sidewalk vendor, etc etc.
