May as well have replaced with the cost of all the parts and labor for all the work that you did
Problem was that it was r22. Indoor coil was in decent shape. It took us about 4 hrs.
Good 👍
Thank bro. I really appreciate it. Blower now working!
Very nice work 👍👍
Thank you 👍
wicked work
Thing works great for return boxes and putting in supply boxes
Wouldn’t that first capacitor need replacement for testing too high
This is the Godfather of time. Clocks going back at least 50 years. Gears and pins common wsir, but you first have to understand the clock. And the fail-safe. Excellent timer.
Should have sold them a new walking box with a new condensing unit and Evaporator, What a filthy walking box.Unfortunately this is what you run into. Health department time
So do I get contacted amperage from the motor info…im assuming?
Very informative. How can I get a hold of Portland book? Thanks
Yes, I am new to TXVs, I am having issues with a system that was running ok, then I didn't like the way it was running. I did a pump down, cleaned the evaporator coil. I did a nitrogen pressure test on the system; it held no leaks. Did a vacuum down to 400 microns. Now I have low suction pressure60 psi or so, good subcool, with poor cooling inside the home. I next am looking to clean the TXV because of the nitrogen test. I think it moved the inside debris to the TXV and caused this issue. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Great video!
Love custom stuff like this.
Good stuff 👍
Good job 👍
Ouch
Great work keep the videos coming
HI/LO PRESS SWITCHES. 3PHASE MONITOR PROTECTION.
Hi low pressure switches will be installed on site
Hell yeah
What about the TXV or piston
Piston
Piston
Here in Ohio I try to do the same, there are many options and drop ins for r22, some you have to change the oil and metering devices……my question is what kind of compressor did you use, I heard the scroll part but don’t know about the compressor type
Copeland zr21 I believe. It was a cross reference to the old Bristol compressor
Fucking well done mate. Keep on going
Good stuff what was the original diagnosis. And it's good to see people fixing rather than replacing. Me and my family run a small HVAC business and we primarily try to fix rather than replacing. With that being said when we do replace we usually put in York units. Also the fieldpiece gages are really nice
We had a bad compressor. Terminals blew out. Condenser was filthy. We brought the condenser to the van and did all the work in the driveway
Very interesting 👍
Why staybrite 8?
AIR COOLED CONDENSER?
Water cooled
It’s a great truck until about 100000 miles ,then it’s a money pit. Good luck
Personal? You’ve struck my curiosity I’m in hvac, not that long so I’m still learning but I was thrown into a truck and was told to figure it out lol
Can you explain this? Like what volume does this support
Don't give them the cheaper options order the correct parts and charge them for it.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Why not just use a copper stretcher, instead of slip couplings?
Your evaporator coils are what they call a cold plate's.
Interesting, I work on a lot of 30ton Lieberts that have p66 speed controllers or VFDs for the condenser fan motors. When the p66 or VFDs die we jump them out until we can replace them. This causes low head pressure during the winter, I was only worried about oil return, good to know this too. The TXVs are SVE-10 or SVE-15 depending upon size, not sure if its a balance port or conventional txv type.
Yeah I'm pretty sure SVE series is not balance port so head pressure is critical in having proper superheat. You need at least 200-250 psi head pressure for conventional r22 txvs or else you'll have superheat issues. In some cases compressor could kick off on LP. If your suction is too low you may have oil return issues too. Head pressure is literally a major opening force on a conventional TXV
Smallest chiller I've ever seen, and 422b from factory!?
Yeah. They had a POE compressor and they changed to mineral oil from factory. Something about the oil breaking down and acid rotting out the pvc on the water side
keep it commin brother lookin good lookin real good
Appreciate it
How did you determine to go with a 2.5 ton?
I counted each bedroom on a notepad and seen what I would put for a register and added all the cfm together into a number. Came out to approximately 1000cfm. It's and old school way sizing systems.
@@mikerefrigeration5736 so you went with a 400 cfm/ton approach rather than conducting a manual J load calc and selecting equipment via manual S parameters?
@jacobboeschen6391 yeah. Do you do that on every job? How much additional time is to perform a load calculation? I would be interested in learning how to do load calculations. Although the average customers budget is a concern. I do size my flex for .05. The problem is the customers budget. Residential is a tough market here in RI. Flex wasn't even to code on this job. It was r6 instead of r8.
Nice work bro! I dont envy the attic jobs. Thankfully in Utah, there is like next to zero attic systems. Mostly basements or sometimes crawlspaces. Keep on keepin on!
Thanks a lot for the comment!
What model hoshizaki did you pull this out of? Thats crazy lol
Km600mah. On another job - Ive actually clipped the plates together with battery jumpers at a Chinese restaurant a year ago and that machine is still running too lol. My customers are too cheap
@@mikerefrigeration5736 😂😂 that's hilarious man
Btw great duct running too, looks awesome im a big guy so i tend to stick away from installs, im service only for the most part and just actually switched over to commercial. Where are you guys based out of? This vid just popped up in my feed
No worries man I understand. Me and my father are both 5 ft 4 so don't mind attic jobs here and there. We do commercial/service and refrigeration mostly. We only do residential installation for the most part (to avoid needing man power). Thank you for the comment.
@@mikerefrigeration5736 of course man great so see actual responses you never get this type of intercommunication from TH-cam anymore proper good feed back amazing man
I never considered solder on hvac in residential 😂 just trained different. Will need to try it next time rather then carrying around my ace/oxy everywhere. And yeah 4 to 2.5 might be drastic seems like they were oversizing to oversell. Also prolly complained due to humidity up there during the summer
Soldering is the best option on soft linesets where you're doing minimal joints imo. Brazing is always a must. But solder when you can. Makes life easier. Here in Rhode island, a lot of guys stay brite 8 here.
that electrical work is horrendous, just strung across those joists
good work on the unit though
Lol my father and I were saying the same thing.
Why the change? 4 ton to 2.5 seems drastic?
The house was only 1000 sq ft and well insulated. I counted all my registers and only came up with 1000 cfm. The last installer oversized tremendously
Imagine insulating anything at any point.
Supply should at least be 5 feet
very nice bro
💯👍👍👍
💯👍👍
Brilliant workmanship nice installation.
Excellent tutorial very helpfull and interesting thanking you for sharing.
Great video. Do you just pulled the heat exchanger with a rope up to the roof?
Yes
