Stereo Peterlin: "Liberated Sound" Album Release // Listening Party announcement

Subscribe to my Bandcamp page to listen to the album and get notified about the Listening Party for the album "Liberated Sound". thanosfotiadis.bandcamp.com/ Listening party is planned on Tuesday 25th of June at 21.00 CET. Ciat-Lonbarde Stereo Peterlin: Session 4 (Think Aloud Patching)
มุมมอง 1454 หลายเดือนก่อน
I was mixing the tracks that I have recorded so far with the Stereo Peterlin and I realized that if I want to add a new track I need to start from a different place and have a new approach in order to explore a different territory. I recorded my voice thinking aloud and sharing this with anyone interested to follow my way of thinking with this instrument. If you want to know when the album will...
Ciat-Lonbarde Stereo Peterlin Drone Sessions One & Two
มุมมอง 2114 หลายเดือนก่อน
Coming to a close with this project I dived into the familiar ambient sessions that I used to do a lot in the studio. This time I've combined 2 sessions droning on the same frequencies, each with its own unique characteristics. The video is also a combination of both video sessions so it might get a bit too psychedelic, but in that case, just close your eyes and let go. The Zen Delay adds its o...
Ciat-Lonbarde Stereo Peterlin (& Golden Section) Session 3
มุมมอง 2414 หลายเดือนก่อน
Probably the most mature of all sessions so far, I know my way around a bit more and let the sounds evolve in their own way. Lots of interesting sounds in there. I didn't want to edit it at all. I think it's an overall balanced session. Enjoy. Choose your poison: thanosfotiadis.bandcamp.com/
Ciat-Lonbarde Stereo Peterlin & xRollz Experiments
มุมมอง 2034 หลายเดือนก่อน
After exploring the basics with the Stereo Peterlin set up, it's time to see how it interacts with other instruments in the Ciat-Lonbarde family. I was particularly curious about the xRollz because I use it to create weird rhythms but I had no idea how would that interact modulating parameters from the Stereo Peterlin. It turns out that it's a very interesting combo. The signals from the xRollz...

Ciat-Lonbarde Golden Section Tutorial & Demystification (!?!)
มุมมอง 2.1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a first tutorial on the basic functions of the "Gold" and "Section" modules that were added on the Peterlin to create this new inspiring instrument. It was an attempt to understand them myself before I dive in and start improvising and recording. I connected the Peterlin as well in order to show this concept of the "Stereo Peterlin" which is very exciting for me right now. Then I added ...

Noisebaas: The Making Of An Album (part 2)
มุมมอง 895 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the 1st part of the making of the "Noisebaas" album, using noise and feedback recordings from a Serge modular system, I was listening carefully and choosing samples from the recordings and loading them into a sampler. Now in this 2nd much shorter video, I'm trying to record a track live straight from the sampler. This is part of the process, to see what works and what doesn't. Is this way in...

Ciat-Lonbarde Rollz-5: The instrument that your 3-year old child can play better than you.

So that was a trip! 12 minutes of patching this instrument and I was nowhere close to the patch that my 3-year old son did the previous day without having any clue what he's doing. I love negative comments but never get any on my own videos. perks of being a small channel I guess. Think I fall into the adventurous listener category as I'm not well educated on music history or early electronic music. I just like to hear sounds that sound like electricity being sculpted. I think a video like this is sort of pointless because I feel experimental music is either you get or you don't. People saying "noise machine goes bleep bloop, write some real music" are never going to have the mental faculties to appreciate subtleties or step outside of their own personal perspective.

      Me 20 years ago I wouldn't have any idea about any of this. But I had curiosity and respect for people who did and I was willing to learn. Obviously you can educate yourself and you can keep listening to the most intriguing stuff. My brain loves a tickle, trying to understand what is going on is the most pleasant experience. Every person is wired differently but I cannot accept the word "pointless" you use. With the information available today anyone can learn how to approach and appreciate anything they feel curious about and attract it to. Cheers!

    I appreciate this. I think that TH-cam is better thought of not as a public space, but instead as a million rooms that channel creators open to the public. When you come to someone's room, you should be a respectful and curious guest. Thanks for inviting us into your room. 😁

    Revisiting this great walkthrough. Still love it. Since you are transitioning a lot, do you have a way to monitor what the next section is sounding before you transition it in? Does your mixer have for example good enough cueing ability for headphone checking before sending it out to the house? Thanks again for sharing.

    • @ethermod307
      @ethermod307 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thnx for going through it again in depth! All the elements of the set are well prepared from before, so I know all the sounds I have in my disposal. So there is no need to check the sounds before I bring them in. I also have practised how to play live with each sound so I know what to do in order to have variations in sound. And I leave the rest to the moment.

    Way too expensive for bleeps and bloops. Does it actually make musical sounds?

    • @ethermod307
      @ethermod307 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would be rather careful to use the words "bleeps and bloops". This is a well-crafted noise improvisation session with two experimental instruments as a stereo pair. What you call "musical sounds" can be anything, 99% of youtubers make that easy to be found. If you want something more exciting and hopefully inspiring you should check the drone sessions that i did with the same instruments: th-cam.com/video/B_UcrsEJGD8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eVNucj9UVMReCmoK

    Congratulations! I'm really enjoying what I've heard so far, and I'm looking forward to going back for a deeper listen later. Love the idea of 'liberated sound' as you describe it. I've been thinking a lot about how to forward the simple experience of encountering sound in my work. I think it works best as you've done here with a focused instrumentation and sound palette-to say "this is enough, just listen to it".
