Your February TBR looks fantastic-so much variety! I love the balance you strike between newer reads and books you already own. I also really appreciate your thoughts on The Wheel of Time-I had similar feelings about Eye of the World being a bit too Fellowship of the Ring-like, but I’ve heard that later books really come into their own. Also, Sea of Rust sounds incredibly intriguing (and possibly nightmare-inducing given current AI developments!). Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these reads!
Thank you so much! Yeah, it really is a fine line between wanting to read all the new, shiny books and balancing my pocketbook. I'm really enjoying the WoT books so much, but yeah, I could track beat for beat with Fellowship. I'll definitely let you know how Sea of Rust goes!
to kill a mockingbird is one of my favorite books! I want to re-read it as an adult too sometime. thanks for helping me put it higher on the list
I remember really enjoying it - I'm interested to see if that's still true!
And hello again 🏆 First of all: you look gorgeous in this video (you always do, but I love braids, so extra gorgeous!) Second off: all hail Lockwood & Co. And Locknation 💙 Then digged through my 2024 books and must say, my best book would be "The Liveship Traders 3" by Robin Hobb. Such a fantastic ending to the trilogy and I just love the character Althea and Brashen! I also cant really name just one worst book because I've read a couple Romantasy books by german Authors... which were very poorly written and very not plotted out and with just the most annoying and sometimes even dumb female mc's I've ever encountered...
Aww...thank you. 🥰 I was like "Am I too old to wear my hair like this?" In the end I just thought it was cute. I really need to read some Robin Hobb. I used to have the original releases of all her books that my mom gave me (but they were ruined while I was living abroad...😭)
What are you excited to read this month?
🦢🫶🏻 And I don't actually have a favorite book from December 🤔
Thank you for being here again! What did you read? Was there a book that was a little above the rest?
@@literatimedium Always 💙 Hmm... probably the third book of the Rainwild Chronicles from Robin Hobb 🤔 Wasn't the best buy I've read by her but the best I read in December.
A good breakdown, thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching.
Have you read this book? Or seen the movie? Or even the old miniseries? Which was your favorite?
Eh, this channel is a good idea
@@StephanieGaelan Thank you so much!
Such an excellent list! LockNation is lucky to have you! And while TCS is my personal favorite, I'm with you on the character introduced in THB. I love them so much! 💙🖤🧡
@@lovelyfanatical TCS does seem to be the fandom favorite (especially among Locklyle shippers). They are great! Thank you for watching.🥰
I am so happy that lockwood and co helped you be friends with so many people. I hope you have a very good year.❤
@KhloiiLomeli It was a great year! Same to you. Thank you for watching. ❤️
124 books is incredible, and I love the way you structured this list-not just highlighting favorites but also the ones that didn’t quite work for you. I totally get what you mean about Hell Bent cementing Bardugo’s skills as a writer; Ninth House was good, but the sequel really showed what she can do with character and atmosphere. Also, your love for The Hollow Boy is infectious-it’s always special when a series becomes more than just books and connects you with a whole community. Great video!
Thank you! I was pretty proud of how much I was able to read. I'll admit, having both my best and worst books in the same video is more for time. LOL. I wanted to cover both this month, but have other videos planned. I'm so glad you also liked Hell Bent. I think you nailed it when you mentioned her talent with character and atmosphere. Thank you for thinking my current hyperfixation is infectious. I really love this series and the community and need to spread the love to other people. Just saw you have a channel yourself. Looking forward to watching some of your videos! Thanks for watching. 🙂

Sorry this wrap up is so late! What was your favorite book from November?
Wow, very impressed! A very realistic and relatable topic, good flow, good editing, and good job on the room makeover.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. 😭
Very happy to have discovered your channel! I did NaNo but didn't use the site at all. I find the challenge incredibly useful.
I'm so glad you found me, too! The challenge definitely helped keep me on target, for sure.
That method sounds amazing! Definitely going to try it. Thank you!
@@oliviaschuster955 OMG, her book "How to Keep House While Drowning" changed my life. Highly recommend to anyone! Granted, it's more of a tidy method than a cleaning method, but the cleaning is much easier to do when things are tidy!
First video I've seen of yours - you did a great job! I especially love the curio cabinet and rug :) For the bookshelves - what about some peel and stick contact paper or wallpaper in a print you love, just on the backs?
Thank you! I mostly do book content, but this was definitely a fun video to make. That's suck a unique solution for the bookshelves! Thanks for the idea 💚
This was so fun to watch! your office is so beautiful now!

Hey ho! Slowly but surely working on catching up with all videos in my "watch later" So here I am... on the last day of November! 😂 anyway! Hope you had a good writing month!📒💚
Hey there! It's been pretty good, thanks for asking! Though I definitely didn't hit my goal ... 😅Hope all is good for you!
I had no idea about any of this, thank you for making this video. 💕 📓
Yeah, it's so disappointing as I used to love NaNoWriMo time (even though I didn't participate). I just thought it was so cool.
Which one did you like better?
📓 I dumped NANOWRIMO 8 YEARS ago after the 2016 election. Some self-righteous fool director there sent an email saying that if you voted for Trump, you are no longer wanted here. I thought that was so shitty to say and for the organization to put it under their masthead. The same people whine about the danger to democracy and free speech but promote ostracizing and canceling people over who they vote for. Now, who is the real threat to democracy? The book I was writing at the time was about a rock band in the early 80s. There was absolutely nothing about politics in it. But, that was enough to show me who they really are and I thank them for losing my business.
@WhatsWrongWithTheStreet And as an American citizen, that is totally within your rights to walk away from financially supporting a company who doesn't align with your ideals. Just like it is the left's side to not associate with people who have shown care nothing for their safety and wellbeing. I understand that seeing the anger in the left side of the political spectrum might be scary to those that don't agree. HOWEVER. The left is not the side with the guns. They are not the ones following my neice around in school shouting "Your body, my choice." The left will continue to support any American citizen's right to exist and live their life, even if we disagree, but we will call the right out when their speech gets hateful because a culture of bigots is not a culture we want to support. The human rights of members of the right are not being systematically taken away (contrary to what some may think). I have less rights as a tax paying citizen in my country than the day I was born simply because I am not a man. This is a fact. This is not because of the Left. All the Left wants is to live their lives in peace, and to do so however they see fit as long as it doesn't involve violence. I do not condone violence. I never will. No matter which side starts it. But I will always stand with marginalized communities because the REAL problem in this country is the billionaires like Musk and Trump who want to sow divides among our people as a distraction for what they are doing: accumulating all the wealth for themselves.
Lots of people are doing the challenge through TrackBear. I'm part of a leaderboard with around 200 other participants on the platform.
That's cool!
WorldAnvil also has a November writing challenge. They call it NovelEmber. Simultaneously in November they have a prep for their December challenge which is a world building challenge (WorldEmber) NovelEmber is 50k words WorldEmber is 10k words
Very cool. I didn't know that!
I did NaNo a few years back and it was awful for me personally. Pushing to get the words in lead to crazy burnout and I didn't write for like three months after. Which is antithetical to the whole point of the challenge. Add to that the 80k book I wrote was absolute trash and it was so frustrating to have put myself through that I made a video last year about NaNo and why I don't like it. I'm more of the opinion to find a stride that works for you and keep at it. I like the Terry Pratchett method of aim for 800 words each day. It's enough that it's easy to keep up with and if it gets me putting words to paper every day it adds up way faster than if I do 2k words like two days a week because I fried my brain
Yes, I agree! I think challenges can be fun and motivating, but I also felt burnout after NaNo last year.
I too opted out of NaNoWriMo this year. I found that my experience with the NaNo forums were not fun last year. So, this year I'm writing a novel, planning on hitting 100000 words by the end of December. It's sort of a double challenge. So ar, as of 10/14, I'm just over 30k words. Strangely, I feel less stressed than when I was doing the official challenge.
That's so amazing! Cheering you on! 🥳
I'm in the far north over Xmas shutdown, so it will be Nanookwrimo for me.
Okay, not familiar with what the "nook" stands for here. Would love to know!
@@literatimedium If you google for Nanook, you'll find some information. If you then, *in step two* , google for Nanook Zappa you will find some extra information. cheers! / CS
@@literatimedium Hi! I just posted a comment here. But something is strange. When I view comments sorted "newest first", then I can see my post, but sorted by "top comments", then my post isn't there. I wonder why. cheers! / CS
I'm doing the Rough Draft Challenge's 10k goal. I always wanted to do NaNoWriMo but I work a lot and never felt I had the time. So far, I'm on track! I take Lot's of days off during the week, and mostly write on weekends. The lower word count option is the only reason I'm writing at all
I'm so glad! As someone who also works a lot (I work 6 days a week), I also understand the time crunch issues. So happy it got you writing!
Ooh, I just picked up Frankenstein from the library and I'm looking forward to trying it. 18:00
I will say I was the only one in my book club that enjoyed it. (Filmed this before we met)😅 But I'm always pleasantly surprised when I enjoy a classic.
Thank you, very informative. I liked hearing the whole controversy in an organized fashion, and hearing a few new options instead of NaNoWriMo. Edit: I would recommend adding timestamps, because I had a bit of a hard time finding the names of the two other options that I'd wanted to look up...
Thanks for the feedback! I'll go in and add some Chapters for the options.

Helloooo 💙 To answer your in video question: i love the least to favorite thing (its 11 pm here in Germany and my english is out of the window or something 🤣). To answer your other question: since I only read one book in October, which I did not enjoy, I do not have a favorite book 😋
Good to know! I was worried it was getting confusing jumping around the challenge. Sorry you didn't enjoy the book. What book was it?
@@literatimedium it was "Stone Blind" by Natalie Haynes. Its supposed to be a story about Medusa... but her part was maybe 15 % of the book? A bunch of other Gods and Goddesses had way more POV's
I grew up loving doing nanowrimo with my friends, I hate how it’s turned out
I know. It definitely feels like an end to an era. I grew up with my sister doing a lot of NaNoWriMo
I'll have to finish watching this later - but I really liked the points you brought up, I left nano due to their initial controversy, so I wasn't aware of their stance on AI shifting. I will not be going back to their platform. That being said, I'll definitely look into the alternatives you described! The Order of the Word sounds very intriguing. I struggle to balance writing with my other hobbies, so it might be a good place to get motivated to focus on writing.
I completely understand that! As an ADHDer, I have a lot of problems with too many hobbies, not enough time.
