What seats ye got in this mate
Celica 5th gen I think
Good work , sounds good now , well done 👏👌
Thanks 👍
Time to get some miles in!! 🤘
That's annoying bloody TH-cam algorithm just spoke in person realised I was already subscribed but just not getting to see any of your vids in my feed
man those lifters are loud at idle ay?
The mic does seem to pick them out over other sounds, but I'm probably going to double check the clearances at some point
Have re checked them since and they were pretty loose, thanks for the observation dude 😎
@@therustroom4420 right on brother. Glad you got it sorted. Rip on!
What's the engine out of mate
Montego Turbo
Wow just come across your vid and me and my mates did this same thing 23 odd years ago as I had a montego turbo the got t boned and my mate had a maestro van with a 2ltr efi and we stripped the turbo lump out and replaced the 2 ltr efi he had in his van, this was back in the day when we would always be done Brighton cruise as Tony who ownerd it used to love playing with the cossie’s
The cossie slayer on Madeira drive 😂
Thats wicked, great minds think alike I guess! Must have been pretty rapid taking on cossies. Was there anything done to the engine tuning wise?
So good looking class 👌
Track ready
Hard work pays off.....! Nice one.
😁😁👌👌 sounds good Alex , will you take it out in the wet..?😁 This rate you will beat me to it..!!
Might need to be careful with the right foot if I do!
haha thats mint, love it
Congrats dude on getting it out and about
Class 👌
Thanks for that, I'll see how I get on with them but that sounds like a good idea for the future
Tony at PAW is a spot on chap and ran a Maestro turbo himself. I have one of his kits on my car although I'm using Wilwood calipers. I don't run the heat shield either. As for the outer CV boots then i use Rover 220 items with a part number of ZUA000900. You might find the ones you have slip off. All coming along nicely bit by bit.
Hi, I`m proud new owner of a S 1. Your videos are very interessting and helpfull for me. Thanks for that and stay tuned.
That TVR sounds epic! 😍💪
This was cool AF when you took me for a drive in it before, but its gonna be awesome with the new engine. 👌🏻💪
Hell yeah, hopefully you'll notice the difference 😂
Get in 💪🔥
Sounds well , just needed to get that choke and throttle balance right and away she went. Always tricky when doing it all by hand. Soon be needing another project..!!!😁
Well, still need to finish the rest of it yet!
Burble tune loadingggggg 😎
Just gotta wire up the 2 step 🤷🏻😉
Is that a gear knob under the bonnet
Yeah, holds the bonnet up and stops the alternator catching on it 😉
Whole point of track time is to push the limits. They aren't very good organisers if they get shitty about it. Impressed the engine held up tbh
It's probably the best outcome with the potential of what could have happened, just dented panels and pride...
YEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWW RUSTY!
😢
Nice one am about too go too sleep but watch in the morning got itch for me T16 Turbo van back ha ha!
Hell yeah, I probably saw pictures of yours back in the day when I first got mine which gave me some inspiration 👌
Great content lads, I'm glad u came across it as these Are the cars from my days especially MG had many metros Monty butnever a meastro I've been througha few of you old vids and will continue keep the work up look forward to future uploads👍👍👍👌love this van thou
Thanks Jason, hopefully the van will be up and running with the 2 litre Turbo soon 👌
Great video Alex , very informative as always , coming on well.👌
Thanks 👍
Awesome well done mate 😃
Great video, nice clip at 7:08 😉
Thanks for letting me use it dude 😎
@@therustroom4420 no worries :)
Tvr sounds sweet , looks like a great day out , love to see some more footage of the other cars on display , great video as always
Thanks Guy 😊 That was all the footage I got on the day, there are a couple other videos floating about of the event as well on other channels 👍
Wooop
Nice work Alex , you should be well pleased with that , bendy bits can be tricky. 👌
Cheers Guy 😁
Great work 😃
Progress 😃
Nice episode.
Thank you 😊
Nice to see Alex working..!!🤣
Working hard, or hardly working 😉
New unit looks good 🤘
Forgot about those spanner’s glad they came in handy!
Are you going to uprate the clutch?
Not sure, haven't got that far yet! I'm hoping there will be options, maybe in the t16 or lotus Elise world..?
@@therustroom4420 I'd start with a minimum of 228mm clutch from the L series, the 215mm standard clutch will hold a bit more but if you get it to the 200hp mark I reckon it won't last long. Easy to do now while is apart 😉
@@austinmaxi ideal thanks for the advice, I don't have anything yet so will need to do the research 👍
Just buy a Connect...!!!
Back in the day well mid 90's anyway when there were MG Montego turbos in the scrap yards there were a few Maestro van's with turbo O series engine's in. I've still got my Maestro turbo after 26 year's but now the parts aren't so available and now the car's are hitting £10-£20k!
Yeah we've had a couple of people with old "real" photographs of their vans with the O series in. Like you say the original cars are now worth too much to take their engines out! Wow I may have to ask you some questions at some point if you own a proper one, mainly where things go...
@@therustroom4420 Feel free to ask anything MG turbo related!
I'm a, T16 Turbo conversion guy owned the O series turbo cars too thirsty and not fast enough too justified the swap when T16 was readily available 15 years ago when was converting them! Van in my profile pic here still lives up Scotland and my brother owns turbo no 361! I do intend on doing a Montego T16 once I'm fit from my injuries as only one have not done turbo from the 3 M range of Austin Rover! Triple M range especially base models are the ultimate wolf in sheep suit!
@@lyndengrant1657 My van was O series turbo then perkins TD as me pal cooked the O series as had water leak! Then got bored of being bonny work an then T16 Turbo converted it! Was silly quick with T28 turbo and intercooler modified off Pulsaur! Was rolling road at 260hp beat a lot of modern metal!
@@micksroversmg558 I've got 410/505 which I've had for 26 year's now. Silly prices now for the car's and the parts but nice there is a following for them.
Great video. By the way, it is Chimaera not Chimera. Funny spelling I know. Look forward to your next video. Cheers.
Ah my bad, a little bit like Maestro then! Have you caught up with the whole TVR build series? Check out our playlists for all the episodes 🤙
Good stuff 🤘
Intermittent faults in old electrics in any bit of kit is one of the hardest things to fix. I think you are taking a sensible route
Cheers mark, fingers crossed it's been driving spot on since 🤞👌
I am trying to pluck up the enthusiasm to do my 1992 S3, it needs new outriggers, but where do you stop !!!!!???
It's worth it when you get to the first drive, trust me!
@@therustroom4420 I have been driving the car for 5 years , my first drive with the S3 was from the UK to the south of Spain where I live. and I had a 1972 Vixen s3 back in the early 1980's ( until I got married !!!!!)
Wow that's brave, proof they can be a long distance tourer 👌
Hi Guys good luck with your resto! Not sure why I came across this but in the mid 90's I took the body off a rusty S1 and fitted it to a 5.0L Chimera chassis with engine/gearbox etc. It didnt take that much work to make it fit other than narrowing that perimeter frame by about 40mm and chopping the entire fibreglass transmission tunnel out and making a wider one to clear the Chimera chassis. The registration number was B15HLT if you ever see it.
Sounds like an interesting project, bet it went well!
275th subscriber. Remember that when you're a gazillion thousand billion dollars rich. I may have a gallon of gas too then.
Will do, thanks for the sub 👌
Any updates on the bug, lads? See it’s been a year since you uploaded.
Has it really! Not particularly, floor pan is done and the shell is on a stand ready to have the welding done on it..
