Thank you, man! I know exactly what you mean. Chi is a great example of knowing how to play exactly what’s required for the song. He can make the simplest of bass lines sound incredible through his feel and tone. Beautifully simple and simply beautiful.

Thank you! It’s a Fender Jazz Elite. I had both pick ups on, a little compression, Slight cut on mids, slightly boost high and a little gain for grit. I hope that helps!

@@troytolbert2005You have this issue with it? I've never had an issue with neck dive on this bass personally. I do wear it pretty high with the strap while performing which may keep it more level. . I love the versatility of the thumb and it's ability to cut through the mix while playing various genres. . What's your go to bass guitar?

Thank you! I cant remember the exact settings, but essentially it’s compression, a little EQ to slightly boost the bass and cut the high mids, to let the low mids cut through, and then some gain to give a little grit. I hope this helps!

Absolutely. I did most of it through VSTs because I didn't have the correct pedals but you can achieve the same sound if you have these effects in pedal format: Compression > Fuzz > Wah > Octaver (in that order). I used a little EQ and compression after the effects to tidy the sound a little but it isn't essential to the sound. Have fun recreating this, it's a great tune and a really fun tone to play with.
