Where is water coming from?
My guess is a stream outlet, and the sea has washed the rocks up to cover the outlet. It seemed very unusual to me!

Yep, I made my comment as in England where I live as you know we all drive on the left the same as you. And our highway code book suggests that pedestrians either walk or run on the right side. I shouldn't worry about running towards traffic as most of the time you can usually adapt to your surroundings and be able to take any action in plenty of time by stepping aside onto a verge or whatever. My person feeling is that it's better to see the danger and have a margin to take appropriate action. And running towards the traffic sometimes means that you can use more of the road when there is little or no traffic around. Obviously you still have to be wary of what's going on behind you. But hopefully the only time you have to be careful is when traffic is busy on both sides. But being on that side still gives you a safer edge. I suppose it also depends on how the drivers react if they are unfamiliar with people on that side of the road. Of course you've gotta feel confident with any decision as your out there for fun. And I know how the smallest problem can sometimes spoil a run. 👍👍
Why are you running on this side of the road trusting the traffic behind you. Surely you should get on the other side of the road where you can see and avoid danger from any driver not paying attention.
That’s a great point! I might have to re-think that! My instinct is that if a car driver is not paying attention, that could get me anytime, either side of the road. I can hear cars coming from behind from a fair distance, and can get in to the edge. I wouldn’t like to run towards an oncoming car driver that wasn’t paying attention. Fair point, will think it through!
