Good to see one of the Thumpers running with the CEP trailer. They ran with or without it depending on the season. Unit 205029 unfortunately ended up being written off in the Cowden train crash.
i went on the extension from east Grinstead to kingscote it only did Sheffield park to kingscote when i went on it in the 90s then bus to east Grinstead well done to one and all involved in making it possible 👏i read they took out 70,000 tons of rubbish where did they put it all nice if the uckfield to lewis line was opened it should have never closed in the first place
The project to install a historically important Southern Railway/Region Westinghouse ‘L’ frame to take over all the signalling at Kingscote was completed in January 2016, and came into use on 5 February 2016. It will also eventually take over control of the East Grinstead layout and the interface with Network Rail, which is currently handled by a pair of ground frames interlocked through the use of the Annett’s Key on the token. The ‘L’ frame has a mixed pedigree of parts obtained from a number of sources. The main frame of levers 1 to 12 was donated to us having been previously used on the Dartmouth Steam Railway where it controlled Churston station from 1979 to 1991. This section is of historic interest in being from the very first ‘L’ Frame to be commissioned, on the Southern Railway at North Kent East Junction (near New Cross) on 1st December 1929. Other parts were supplied from two private collections, some originating from Crewe South Junction. The largest contributor was the National Railway Museum who kindly provided a quantity of parts from Clapham Junction “B” signal box.
Hiya there, my names Mike & I recently had the pleasure of filming the arrival & installation of P 178 at its current resting place at the One:One Collection in Margate. With your agreeance, I would like to use some clips of footage from one of your videos to show her in her former glory, credit will of course be given as will a link to your video. Please let me know if this is ok. Many thanks, Mike.
All the more mind-boggling as there was literally nothing there other than a bastardised station building! Incredible. (I'm proud to be a member and supporter)
Quite a handsome cove naked, must say. Next time a U comes into service, I'd love to see at least a photo op without deflectors, in the style that the class began (we can forget the smoke box snifters).
Hi John, I didn't know Archie was being tested until I arrived at Kingscote on Wednesday morning. An engine I know nothing about but good to see it on the tracks again
Class205-207 DMUs. When did you film these ?

Wonderful to think the VEP was back at East Grinstead last weekend and this time ran through to Horsted Keynes!
Fascinating to speculate, but can't you tell us the reason for the work in progress?

I wonder if that part of the line will ever be reopen
Big thanks to Hanson for showing you around, lovely video thanks for sharing
Fabulous! Where did that miniature lever frame come from originally?

yes that is perfectly OK
Thank you!
“Only” 115 years old. Looks much older because of the twiddly cab roof.
It’s a shame that the submitted plans won’t make use of the original station site, for obvious reasons of course
Completely agree!
Great video. Where is this filmed please?
Bluebell Railway

The No.34059 (21C159) ‘Sir Archibald Sinclair’, alive’s again!
I was born in Horsted Keynes in 1953 and one of the neighbours was David Harwood, any relation?

John, There are many local spellings for this area, but the one used on the Bluebell is the official railway one, Vaux End.
👍 Where can we buy these tracked dumpers?
You're a really useful railway.
There’s no sound
Very nice video thanks. Do you know what the purpose of the work is?
👍👍....
What is the work taking place?
The carriages and wagons that use to be on that siding where have they been moved to?
2 wagons have gone to West Hoathly for storage. Most of the carriages have moved north to behind the signal box and free space in the up yard.
@@mattlander9119 thank you
Train
Southeastern & Chatham Railway C class 0-6-0 locomotive
Interesting video John🙂 Many Thanks🙂
That bridge looks designed for two tracks so why only one?
I think it is to do with the weight plus it would cost more to lay and upkeep two tracks I imagine
