Jennifer Mata, Ed.D. - Graduated from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela, from where she is originally, with a BA (1996) in Early Childhood Education with emphasis in Educational Leadership and Administration. She received her MA (1998), EdM (1999), and EdD (2010) from Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York. Her graduate work was also in the field of Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Since 1995, Dr. Mata has been an infant, toddler, preschool, and kindergarten teacher, as well as taught in middle school, undergraduate and graduate levels, both in the US and abroad. the first 2 minutes and the last minute of the video all i could hear was static. But other than then that it was very interesting.

What books would you recommend as reference for further reading?
For this course, I typically use Assessment in Early Childhood Education (8th ed) by Sue Wortham and Belinda Hardin. Recently, I found Fair isn't always equal by Rick Wormeli, which is also a good text for assessment in education.
