First nitro rc (second actual rc car) was a nitro slash, such a great way to get into nitro rc
@ronaldoravelo6107 you're right. In my opinion as well. That's a good place to start. Good price and one of the easiest to tune/work on. Thanks for watching!
Love them nitro rc's man, just took a couple of mine out for a rip. Hadn't run them in years.
@@semajniffirg230 glad to hear that. Keep burning nitro!
Cool Jato. It looks like a flying squirrel coming at you when it goes through the intersection.
@tallpaul1269 thanks! Appreciate you watching!
You want to hear it shift to 3rd go to a parking lot and let that baby rip I know for a fact you love that sound but your neighbours don't like it all lol hahaha
@kevingalea92 contrary to that some neighbors do like it, but yeah some may not. LOL. It did shift to 3rd in the video though. Thanks for watching!
t-maxx will flip a lot but a wheelie king , revo is a thrasher hands down
Agreed. Thanks for watching!
os carb fit the 33 with no other mod? thanks
@sts.556 Yes. The OS 11k carburetor will fit no problem. This is the one I use, and they usually sell fast: www.ebay.com/itm/186277610606?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_Nf0eRE9Tnm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=DO9-34WpSP6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I bet your neighbours don't like you that much mine didn't like me at all when I used to run My Nitros and now I kinda understand lol hahaha tryed going to parks even then people would bloody bother me lol
Don't have that problem at this point. Been running them for two years straight and haven't had any issues or complaints. Had one neighbor tell me he loves when I run my nitros. I don't run my gassers in my neighborhood. Don't wanna push it.....😁
Dre, isn't it kind of lousy that Traxxas did not discount any of their nitro vehicles. I would have bought another, just throw us real engine guys a bone too, heck $50 off is all it would take for me.
I agree fully. They could've threw nitro runners a bone. $50 would've been a good start. They're priced reasonable, though. Also, the prices haven't been raised like on their electrics. I'm thankful for that.
It does take much for me to get another one, lmao!!

Happy thanksgiving Dre. Great video with lots of information I’m really wanting to get a nitro rustler I already have a tmaxx 2.5 maybe the wife will get me one for Christmas 😂
@@ryancenzer666 same to you! Good luck with the wife! Thanks for watching!
Happy Thanksgiving Dre, the one video I look forward to each Friday morning! This is certainly helpful for any newcomers that want to try this hobby out. And from a price point perspective and what you do get and the ease of the Traxxas starting system, Traxxas just can't be beat. If it's your first and you want the least chance of getting frustrated these are the way to go. Then when you get bored and want a more traditional nitro the Savages are ok but honestly I think there price point is just to high compared to the others, I would have to recommend the XL over the regular even though it's more money. It has a bit more size and the longer wheel base helps keep it planted to the ground. Then there is the USA 1 from Kyosho, Dre this is a fun truck and hopefully it finds its way into your collection. It's more of a bouncy, wheelie machine, very monster truckish. I think the tranny needs a bit more maintenance, I just had to change my second gear clutch and bell bearings but I can help but have fun with it. The .25 that's In it is surprisingly an excellent running and tunable engine as well. Thanks for the video and have a great day!
@@richardgordon9649 thanks for the feedback! I hav3 been considering the USA-1.....We will have to see next year! Thank you for watching!
Hey Dre, Whats your thoughts on using after run oil when storing for the winter months? Is it really necessary with oil already in the fuel?
@@afarley17 j suggest it. The engine could gum up , making it difficult to start later on.
I would love to try a Savage octane. Cool truck.
@tallpaul1269 thanks!
Great Video. I love each version of this buggy but i wish the gas version had 3 gears. id love to hear this thing shifting. anyway nice drive as always. woke uup the neighborhood didnt ya?

@justinmanse2849 wow! That's Traxxas tough! 😁👍
No way thats amazing man tuff car 😊
Hey Dre didn't I hear you say your making your own nitro fuel. Maybe I heard incorrect. But if you do a tutorial of that would be nice. Always wanted to dabble in that but not really confident in what to use for products. I have a bunch of Bones and some Byron's left but who knows what will be discontinued next. Thanks
I make my own fuel as needed. I currently have about half a gallon and I'll work on getting a video out on how I make mine. It'll likely be a little later, possibly early next year. It's due to the lower amount I've been running lately. I'm getting more inquiries about this, so stay tuned! It's coming!
Nice revo bro 😎 👍

❤❤❤. ไฟไฟ❤ไฟไฟแอดพ์ ? 😂🎉😢😮😅😊.
Thanks for watching!
Hey Dre, love your videos man. Can you teach us how you make your own fuel? and do you run all your nitros on your own made fuel? Thanks
Yes. All my nitros run on my homemade fuel. The hardest thing about making fuel is obtaining nitromethane. Unless you know someone personally, contact VP Fuels.
Dre, honest opinion? I have been on the fence last couple of weeks about the Jato, do you enjoy running it or are the Revo/T maxx just more all around fun. Seems to me that Jato is just a top speed runner and might not get used too much after break in. Just my opinion of course. The struggle is always real when it comes to getting a new nitro truck.
@richardgordon9649 Short answer, I would lean towards the T-Maxx/Revo before the Jato. Here's why. Out of the box, the Jato is set up for speed runs on road. Granted, you could modify it for off-road, but that kind of defeats it's purpose in my opinion. As you can see, I like to keep my R/C's original with a few modifications made to my liking. The T-Maxx/Revo does fairly well on road and great off-road, in my opinion. So, I do enjoy running those much more because of their versatility. Hope that helps!
@ Thanks Dre it does help a bit, I have always been one that want to buy all a manufacturer has to offer but many of my models end up sitting, that damm Revo has been my go to lately, such a good handling, smooth MT, just plain old fun! And I got truggys and everything. Costs nearly 3 times what a Revo costs to build a nice truggy and I just don't have the same kind of fun with it. Crazy indeed but that's me being honest. Thanks my friend! Have a good day!
@richardgordon9649 you're welcome!
@@Dre357 well I won't lie I just ordered a Jato last evening, I hate to think they discontinue that model for the new electric one and I end up kicking myself in the rear for not getting one when I could. Orange one on the way. I think Traxxas is decent about keeping the models in their lineup but it's a crazy world on the nitro side so no chances taken by me. Should have it this week coming up. Thanks for the input on this, weather is almost too cold up here in Vermont, snow is close and it's been in the twenties to start the days all week. But at least I will be ready for spring. Take care!
@richardgordon9649 excellent! I believe you made a great decision considering Traxxas most recent decisions. They usually release the replacement of a model before discontinuing the previous one.
Yessss!!! It was a great help, Thank You!!
@darrincelendano2676 you're very welcome Darrin!
The video I've been looking for. Trying to decide between the 2 now for my first nitro. I know the T-Maxx is a flawed design, but it's a classic that I need to get my hands on before it's gone.
@dereklatshaw3017 Glad to have helped! They're both great first nitros! The Classic comes with reverse, so if that matters, choose that one. Thanks for watching!
@ thanks! Reverse isn’t a big deal, but I appreciate the reminder. Also going to check out your video comparing the Revo and T-Maxx 3.3. They are all on my radar, all legends, and I definitely want to add 1 to my collection before they end up the fate of the other long running models like the E-Revo/Maxx and Summit.
@dereklatshaw3017 great idea.
@@Dre357 I bought a Summit in late 2021 for that reason. I just had a feeling it was going to disappear soon with the scale crawler craze, and it’s a Traxxas legend in my mind too. It’s not for everyone but nobody else ever made anything that can compete. 6 months after I bought it Traxxas axed it. I missed out on the brushless E-Maxx years ago, I need to make amends and I’m ready to change to nitro. The power and simplicity is nice, but I need more soul than an electric motor can provide somedays.
@dereklatshaw3017 great minds think alike! I grabbed a red Summit from a local seller for same reason! I also have a E-Revo VXL 2.0 Black Edition. Two discontinued models. I've been slowly grabbing spare parts for both as I come across them, but lately nitro and gas has been my focus. I won't be surprised if the T-Maxx Classic is the next to go. Considering that the 3.3 version is much more popular.
Dre!!! This is great!! 2 nitros running together, sweet music to my ears! And also a testimonial of how a proper nitro engine will run when PROPERLY TUNED!! Don't change a thing let us hear them run together. Thanks for the video!! Take care!
@@richardgordon9649 thanks Richard! Much appreciated!
Do u even have the car if not y talk about 😂😂😂😂 I got both nitro & the new one I like the new one it's great 💯
@rcmarylandmillz8390 🤣🤣🤣 It's quite irrelevant whether I own this buggy one or not. I don't have to own it to talk about the name. I'm glad that Traxxas finally got a 4x4 buggy and I'm actually interested in hearing more about the vxl version coming next year. I really just simply gave my opinion on the fact of naming it Jato. Instead of something like Bandit 4x4, which I believe is a better choice. With that said, congratuations! Enjoy your new buggy and thanks for watching!

Hey Dre, I just put together my second Revo, yea I know sounds crazy but I like to buy the parts from a parts seller and assemble rather then just buy one. It's way more fun to me and don't mind spending a bit more, honestly this truck sells way cheaper than the others as it is. But anyways I used the tires and wheels off the newest HPI savage and it adds about 2" of width to the Revo over stock. All that with the OS 21 should be quite a weapon! And I already know the Traxxas 3.3 is no slouch by any means, I love that engine. For its size compared to the big blocks it's just lays it down!
@richardgordon9649 sounds like a you're gonna have a winner! Should perform amazing off road!

Dre, good to hear from you closing the week. Man you hit the nail on the head. I rarely do anything with a tuning screwdriver once they are up and running. Honestly I always try to keep my trucks around the 200 range also. I know you can lean out and get a bit more power but why in my case. I can't race myself, lol. The Byron's was fuel magic but they are gone now. I am still burning up what I have left along with Bones. Looks like VP won the fuel monopoly and they will be the kings from here on it. Have a great weekend bro! Up here in Vermont the weather is trying to hold on but we all know what is in the way. I am trying to get all the nitro time I can. Thanks for the video!
@richardgordon9649 thanks! Right. Tuning isn't difficult at all, normally a small tweak every now and then. I'm gonna keep ripping as it gets cooler and will likely make videos showing how they run in the change in weather. Thanks for watching!

Hey Dre, my tmaxx never idles good. Traxxas carbs definitely need some work. Love your videos bro. Shout out from Michigan.
@marknugent2574 I've pretty much had the same luck with Traxxas carbs idle. It's usually high and will start cutting off when you try to lower it. My Nitro Slash, Nitro Rustler, T-Maxx Classic and Revo 2.5R all have the Traxxas carbs. Out of these, the T-Maxx Classic seems have the better idle. That's about the best tune I've gotten so far on the Traxxas carbs.
