Those things are nasty big holy crap
Not sure if I understood. You are doing the whole trip in 45 days and covering 11,000 miles. that's approx 250 miles a day each and every day. So it appears you are doing a trip to just say get there say hi head home. I would suggest taking a minimum of 90 days to do the same trip( if at all possible ). That way you have enough time to really stay visit and enjoy etc.
Whitebear, you make a good point. It’s only 4400 miles to get to Denali National Park. The 11,000 miles is a guesstimate of total mileage. Some days will be long drive days. Some days will be days of rest and enjoyment. We’ve scheduled a full 15 days in Alaska. That oughta be enough. 3 nights in Denali National Park and 3 nights in Anchorage. Several free play days scheduled in (who-knows-where-Alaska) and yes… a few days of Driving as well.
Where is this? Jackson county where?
Oregon. Near crater lake national park.
Also i think some dogsleds have wheels added on in summer to keep the dogs in shape! Worth looking into
That would be fun!
I think that map is mostly projection-corrected Canada IS huge!!!
how loud are they? mud tire loud or at tire loud.
We had Wildpeak MTs before. Theses are more quiet than those. We have Wildpeak ATs on our other SUV that are more quiet than the RTs. But of course street tires will be most quiet.
Awesome loadout! Can't wait to see the journey 😀
If you see something you want an Amazon link to- let me know!
Spare eye glasses if you wear them. Plenty of bug spray, mosquitoes and flies are killers in Alaska, we ain't got nothing in Alabama or Georgia like up there.
If you don't put a hitch ball insert in, carry an insert that has a tow ring and of course the retaining pin. I know you have tow hooks but it's just another place.

A roll of duct tape. Safety glasses. I saw gloves. Maybe a few pairs of those black disposable latex mechanics gloves. A jacket you don't mind getting dirty, greasy, muddy, a little ripped, you get it. Quart of engine oil, gallon of engine coolant.
Several flashlights and ways to illuminate. A few spare bulbs for the jeep, headlight, taillights, fuses, maybe one each of the most commonly used relays. A fuse puller. 20 ft of 12 or 14 gauge wire and some butt splicers and cutters/pliers. A couple of ratchet straps for whatever. A ziplock bag with some nuts and bolts and screws, for shock bolts, this and that.
Knee pads for working on the jeep, changing tire etc. Something to lie on when working on it or whatever on wet muddy, thorn covered, sharp gravel etc. Torque wrench for lug nuts etc. Socket extentions, at least 2 deep impact sockets for lug nuts. Redundancy, those things break and just vanish. Flat fix stuff, heavy duty, not play stuff. Extra tire valve stems. You can put the spare on, then drive the front tire up on the tire with the broken valve stems' sidewall to break the bead away from the rim and push the new valve stem thru from inside the tire. Not easy, but usually possible.
Dave, these are all great tips. We’ll probably bring all of what you suggested. Thanks for taking the time to,e to think about it and respond! By the way, we forgot to mention that we do have a couple of extra gas cans we’re attaching to the spare tire.
We have a 19 Sahara and are planning a trip to Utah in September. What part of ga are y’all from? We are from south ga.
Dylan, enjoy Utah. That’ll be next year for us, so give us some, pointers after you return. And, we live just outside of LaGrange.

Right. Unconstitutional.
It's no wonder he's at risk when crossing. Most of the time it's debatable if he's even within the crosswalk boundries. Play it again and watch his foot path. Wonder what those cute little banners and stands cost the local tax payers? Typically 5X the going rate,+. When does the signal turn green at the other end of town so the traffic can flow again?
It's so busy not one car has come thru during filming
Port Orchard has flags as well.
So does McCall ID.
IVE HEARD IF THIS lmao I'm sure it helps save lives even though it sounds silly haha
Sounds silly? It's ridiculous! More tax dollar waste. That's a very inexpensive way of avoiding installing flashing caution lights when a ped. is crossing but, not nearly as effective. The cute little flags are a "feel safe" token. Nothing more.
They have a similar thing in Japan.
Are this RT less noisy than the AT ?
I’ve got the Falken Wildpeak AT3WA on my Escalade. I can say that the RTs are more loud than the ATs.
The hard top looks so good!!!!!!!
Thanks! It is soooo quiet 🤫. It’s perfect.
@Jeep50states I bet it is in comparison. I'm glad the 16 Wrangler unlimited sahara we just got had both tops.
Wow! You said it best "Beautiful!!"
Wow, thank you!
How is the road noise? I’m really interested in the Road noise.
By decibels (measured by an Apple Watch) these tires are measurably quieter than the wild peak mudders. However, in a soft top jeep, there will still be road noise.
@@Jeep50statesWell, you fixed that.😊
I did not know about these tires when I got new tires for my truck about 6 months ago. I got the new Toyo open country R/T trails and I truly love them. Yes I do have a 3500 diesel truck and yes I do pull a 12,000 pound toy hauler and they handle grate pulling on and off road. I have driven in snow, ice, mud, not supper thick red clay mud, sand and heavy rain with standing water on road about 4 inches deep with no hydroplaning. And that and not a super heavy tire too, they have a 2 ply side wall but it is extra thick so you get the benefits of a 3 ply side wall with out the extra wight and they are not loud too.
But if you make your own roads off road then I would recommend you go with a M/T. The Toyo R/T trails are more of a 50/50 on off road tire. Yes they do everything I do. And would do more. But my friend has a Toyo M/T and when you go off road and I would say, make your own path the M/T I would say is more stable and gives you more of a bite in that type of train. I look at it as a trade off and what I would do.
Gotta love a good Rugged Terrain tire! Glad you’ve liked yours.
@@Jeep50states I do, and they hold the road good to.
Hey Crazy Horse! Remember me? I’m Ethan we went off-roading with Prodical overland in the Ranger with y’all. I am super excited to tell you I got my dream truck, that Chevy Colorado ZR2 I was telling you about. Anyways, maybe we can hook up and ride this trail. It’s such a cool trail (I did it in the ZR2).
I have the yokohama geolandar mt g003. Might get these next. Thanks for the update!
Thanks for mentioning the hydroplaning. Thats what I was worried about.
Well any tire is going to hydroplane if you drive fast enough. Would have been nice if he said about how fast he was driving and the condition of the road itself.
Thanks, quick and to the point!
I got so excited that you were talking about that they don’t have the snow flake and I was hoping you were gonna say that they still do excellent in snow and ice but then you never did… :(
Great comment/question. We drove it to UP Michigan this week and experienced snow, ice and rain. I am as confident with these tires in any weather as I’ve been with any other tires. Enjoy the video of us literally smashing through a creek covered in a layer of ice 1.5 inches thick!
Gotta love them Jeeps. I had 3 and miss them all.
Jeeps are amazingly capable toys, right???
Looks like fun
This was a once in a lifetime experience, for sure!
What is the size of your Falken RT tires?
How is the highway road noise. I noticed you said the Falken AT got to 70 decibles. How do these rate compared yo those? I currently have the Yokohama MT and they are loud as hell now after 31,000 miles. 81 to 82 decibles at 70mph
Good question. These tires are a bit less noisy, but I’m aiming for all terrains next time.
Lift size?
2.5” lift. Pretty sure these tires’ll fit a stock Rubicon JL/JLU without a lift.
Hey Crazy Horse! Remember me(?) I’m the birthday boy that has the dad (Jaime and Ethan) with the Ford Ranger. We went on that trip with Prodigal Overland. 😁 I’m surprised I found you… and I’m enjoying watching your TH-cam videos. Hopefully we will see each other soon. 🙂
Great hearing from you. That was a fun trip, wasn’t it. 😊
@@Jeep50states yes it was! Nice hearing from you!
They’re more like 33”(a little under) 315/75/17 is the size you described.
From Falken’s website (falkentire.com/Wildpeak/rt)… 34.1”.
Fal ken. Not fall ken 😂 great video.
I’m in Georgia. .. it’s Fall-kin. 😄
@@Jeep50statesThat's right! Speak your southern english just as natural as you please. Roll Tide.
"Badges of honor" Lol thanks for the video
Sometimes it's good not to go too wide. It will keep more "bite". Good choice!
R/T 01 Have 3 peak snow raking one tires 33s and smaller. Just ordered some 33 and they have 3 peak tasting.
Puddle, not MUD!!??
Not sure if you're aware, but there is mud present in puddles. Mud is a byproduct of water saturating the dirt on the ground.
what rating are those ? Im liking the idea of this tire. i’m novice and learning about all the tire options is nauseating. The side that I want is rated C. But there’s D’s and one E that would work as well. (35’s).
Greg and Beth that’s a great question. The higher the rating (E is greater than C) the greater towing ability and stronger side wall. I chose C mainly because that’s what Jeep had originally put on the Rubicon and I had great success with those through ice, hail, snow, rocks, hills, mud, sand… if you’re gunna tow or haul heavy stuff, get the D or E. If you’re not, at least get the rating that originally came on the truck. For off-roading and towing and hauling, you also want to make sure it’s a LT tire rather than a passenger tire. Good luck.
Hi do you know if I need the three Peak mountain symbol tires for Colorado ski slope? Thanks in advance I don’t understand about this or what’s state do I need it
Great question! I cannot answer that since we are not knowledgeable about CO’s laws for winter tires. Can anyone else answer the above question?
