Great video thanks for capturing this, my son Connor rode with you guys for a bit it was his first gravel race, he had a blast with you all he rode with. I hope he wasn't sucking wheel the whole time and did some of the time at the front :-) Hope to see you at some other events locally.
Good work!
Now that looks like lots of fun
I did Mass Ave a few years ago - tough course and that first corner is something else
I am also glad to see they took out the bricks around "Monument Circle" - too many crashes there
Knowing how solid and fast a rider you are just explains how outrageous P/1 is watching this footage. No real multi-second gaps and the whole race is just a LONG string of missiles! Bonus this year with no rain and what looks like better/more course lighting (at least for broadcast) for Littleton!
First time racing at altitude and heck yeah it was fast! Thank you for the kind words! After several big crashes last year and being 40 years old still trying to shake the nerves in those early laps that really put me in a bad position from the start. More to come!
The amount of surges you do is insane! Didn't think there was anyone in front of you in the last 2 laps.. sometimes these lappers cause confusion to our eyes. Also the big pull for your sprint mate in the end was selfless and strategic. I was too far behind to see all of this..
Great race man! Got to watch the start but not the finish so have been waiting for this to come out so I could see the whole thing!
Thanks for coming out! Great night of racing with the boys!
Any update on the riders. They looked pretty beat up. I've been interested in crit racing and we were actually going to go watch this one but kids had homework to finish up.
Our guy has a banged up shoulder. I believe the other is all good! Are you local? You should def come watch this week!
@@michaeleebowes5176 yep I’m local. Just over on the west side of Nashville. We are planning to come check them out this week.
That was a huge field! Midwest racers must be hungry to race. That's awesome
Thanks for posting. 😀 Your descent was more than decent!
Haha! That’s what I get for posting in a hurry!
this is one of the days i won't forget
It WAS amazing!
Very nice! The longest I’ve ever ridden is around 135 miles during the last stage in “The Race Across Louisiana” in 1985. It was very hot, but pancake flat.
We need to have you out next year Dan!
Is this a yearly ride for NLC? Minus the stops, would love to know the numbers for the ride if you've got 'em! Could stalk you on strava, too. lol Missed seeing you all at WS, but I'll catch you at Hammerfest!
This is a charity ride that Nashville Local supports. A select group of our pro riders are in charge of leading and setting a manageable pace. So much fun! Follow me on Strava for all the deets!
I'm interested in recording my group rides with this type of camera. Does anyone know the model used and how I can purchase one. Thanks.
Hey there! GoPro 10 on the helmet!
I'd be pissed given the race is realistically over and get taken out by someone going for 30th
💯 Shouldn't have happened.
Horrible riding by the guy that couldn't pass you without contact
Cool race 😺
Nice race 😜
how many miles is this decent?
From where I started it’s right at 21 miles.
😎🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Man that pulls the wind out of your sails getting stuck behind 2 crashes. Otherwise great video/race!!
Thank you! Even with it was a fun race and great event!
Did you encounter the Legion of Los Angles will you were there?
I sure did! They make several appearances in the video.
th-cam.com/video/Pm7YtFuk4YI/w-d-xo.html put your poop pants on
Damn, what a heartbreaker that one was but I guess better safe than sorry.
100%
I live in the Phoenix east valley and you gotta watch out for sand in the corners. My max when riding in Vermont was 55.4mph and that scared the hell out of me. Several riders had blowouts from the heat of the rim brakes. I ride 40mm with disc now. BTW... that was a decent descent 🙂
Thank you!
nice video ridesafe ..
nice video ride safe bro.im here now your home.pls.i home you can visit also my area .full support god bless..
who is the jumbo visma rider?
I believe that is Quinn Simmons little brother.
what's the average speed on this thing
I believe we averaged right at 28mph.
@@michaeleebowes5176 i believe LanternRouge said European Pro race avg. speed overall is 28.5mph.... Love this stuff!....
What qualifies riders or teams to take part in the pro race? Do they need to be uci registered pros? And what about to take part in the amateur cat 1 nationals? I was never clear on this.
There are some changes taking place for sure. In the future there will be basic requirements and a points system to get invited to pro nats. For this year you basically had to be a Cat 1 on a registered domestic elite team.
@@michaeleebowes5176 so are those non pro cat 1s who enteres the pro race also allowed to race amateur nationals? Would be kinda double dipping if so.
Agree 100% and that is a problem. Regardless what points structures or rules they make… first and foremost the #1 rule should be if you race “pro nats” you are no longer eligible for “amateur nats” that season.
@@michaeleebowes5176 I agree with you on that. If you're good enough to compete and contend in the pro race..... no reason to give it another shot in a lower tier.
@@michaeleebowes5176 what about Alexey vermeulen? I saw he was in the race. I know he is a formar pro, but no longer a pro and his team is not a domestic elite team right?
i went that fast once, downhill, with a tailwind, for 30 seconds...80 minutes at that pace is incredible homie, NICE JOB!!!
Nice ride 😜😜
Nice! Whats the total distance??
80 minute crit worked out to be right at 38 miles.
@@michaeleebowes5176 lolll, I did 50.86 miles today. Took me 3.5 hours though 😂
Good video! Just curious what place did you come in? Was it your plan to sit in and then pass as many as you can when they starting running out of gas? I'm new to cycling, so I was just wondering.
Great question! I ended up 39th out of 96 starters. Not terrible! So the plan was to enjoy the experience and finish. I had fantastic legs so attacked just for fun mid way. Last few laps the main issues always come when you are to far back and get behind guys pulling the plug as you can see. Gaps get MUCH harder to jump across when the field is going 35mph!
Also watch NorCalCycling, NationsNo.1Beast, and LanternRouge. Also, study Peter Sagan finish sprint videos. Do partner rides, and "bump drills" so you can handle full gas, full contact racing. And HYDRATE! Any place FINISH is always better than a DNF-CRASH! Learn to hold your line. Good luck, have fun!
Thanks for posting
My pleasure!
Hey, dude! Any chance you can do a short version with some voiceover? I always enjoy watching y'all and the different take on what's going on and the way different teams/guys approach the circuits. And I've got some podcasts to catch up on! Woo hoo! (hey to the Mrs.!)
I saw the livestream. That finish was amazing. I haven’t seen a finish that suspenseful in a long time.
Did you take that? Or did that big ole boy in green get ya? Hard to tell
He nipped me at the line. It was ok tho. He is my best bud and we both still won. LOL. 35+ and 45+!
@@michaeleebowes5176 oh nice...congrats!
Come on.
👍👍👍
great race< I have footage of that race on my page also. thanks
AWESOME, ;)
How in the world can anyone move up at speeds like this? 90 minutes of playing the accordion. Brutal
Wow 😮
Right?!?! So much fun tho!
Umm...... Where is technoblade?
Worth the hour watch for the waterworks show at the end
Was there any actual footage this year?
Nice !!!!
