Just a bit about what I do when racing pigeons. Maybe a few tips here and there but just showing what my routines are and the results of the races.

Returns were pretty low on the day got some more the next day to make it a bit better though.

Just a short one this time, I was away when the birds returned they definitely don't trap as well as when I'm calling them in. Clocked 3340 again that's the 3rd time this year.

Bonshaw 2, About the same time off from the winner again birds are clearly heading south east of me to swing north west back home. But hey its only early hoping the longer races favour me better :)

The road work continues still have a month to go before the race season starts. birds are progressing well fitness is increasing and health tracking along nicely.
Update and the goshawks are back!!!

birds go out for their afternoon exercise but the goshawks are back and stirring them up.

2nd toss from 3km west line, birds flocked up much better this time but a much calmer day birds done much better overall.

thanks really appreciate that, as you'd probably know a lot of work goes into them and I don't race a large team just need to start getting further up the places and ill be over the moon cheers legend.

thanks john the numbers are forever getting lower I'm losing 3 or so birds each race so hopefully ill improve that.

thanks mate I'm hoping when we get further down the road my results will pick up, I'm off line a bit so have to get them to break, very happy with the trapping the last couple of years and don't do any specific trap training.

I've been wondering about something. You seem to keep all your birds together. How do you keep them from mating when you don't want them to? Wouldn't it be better to keep males and females in separate areas?
I've never had any trouble with them breeding during the racing season. Being winter I think they don't have the drive to breed and there's no nest boxes for them. The older birds tend to pair up but don't lay. maybe when I retire one day ill split them up but don't have the time to deal with it ATM

The lofts a bit wild just and old shed we had on the property I fixed up a bit, I like that its a bit rough to show you don't need a fancy loft to race pigeons. I will build a new one someday though, cheers mate 😄

Great to see some vids from around Lismore. The area has certainly had it tough for a while. Nice birds. Looks like a good club and transport setup too. Enjoying the videos from Sydney.
