(Formerly Adventures in Imperfect Living) - From Rosary Army to The Catholics Next Door to Adventures in Imperfect Living, Rosary Army co-founders Greg and Jennifer Willits have been pioneers in Catholic podcasts since 2005. Funny, inspiring, and thought-provoking, they share their efforts to deepen their Catholic faith, raise a family, and live out Rosary Army's motto to Make Them. Pray Them. Give Them Away.
Trusting God When You’re Running on Empty
What do the Wedding Feast at Cana and Romans 12 have in common? More than you might think. This week, we reflect on the gifts God gives us, how to discern and use them, and why trusting Him-especially when resources seem scarce-is key to a faithful life.

How the Saints Endured Crisis in the Church
Thank you both for helping me learn more about my faith 🙏 and please let me know that when I make out my check do I make it out to Rosary Army? Praying for both of you and your family.
Thank you for sharing your plans with us. Be assured that we are praying for you. I’m so excited to see how God is guiding you forward for this years work with Rosary Army.
I listened/viewed this episode last week and wanted to thank you for the name endorphins.
Greg, you might find this book helpful: Scruples and Sainthood: Overcoming Scrupulosity with the help of the Saints by Trent Beatie
Greg, You’re describing GUILT. I know…You’ve been forgiven, but you still feel guilt. You can’t separate yourself from being human. That old saying, “To err is human…to forgive, Devine.”
Greg, Some areas of the Rosary you don't cover or at least very often. Have you reviewed the 15 promises Our Lady has made to those who Pray the Rosary? Remember, we can obtain Plenary or partial indulgence. A Plenary indulgence is granted if the Rosary is recited in a church or oratory, a family group, a religious Community, or a pious Association; a partial indulgence is granted in other circumstances. Enchiridion Indulgentiarum No. 48 This is the missing part you were referring to in your podcast. Sins are forgiven in confession; say your penance and the rest is taken care of with indulgence. Wham-O taken care of all clean. Thank you, Lord, and Thank you, Mother, most Holy. Have you made a Rosary or talked about our Lady of 7 sorrows and Mary untier of Knots. You are both doing a great job!! God bless, Frank
She is reading from AI generated text😂😂😂
As her husband, I can tell you she most certainly is not. She can't stand AI.
i dont know you at all, but this appeared in my fed whilst planning my lourdes trip this year. well done big fella for all your rosarys and the grace you found to be patient .... i can relate.
Matt - Thanks so much for this note. We're very glad this episode found you. Have a great pilgrimage!
Hi guys, I used to listen to your podcast years ago. I remember you talking about one of your sons possibly becoming a priest. Did that ever happen?
Rhonda - Great to hear from you! Nope, so far, no priests (but two of our sons - including the one who once talked about the priesthood - are now married).
Merry Christmas, Greg and Jennifer!
Merry Christmas!
Greg and Jennifer thank you so much for this interview. I am going to volunteer in the baths in Lourdes in February March 2025. I’m crying watching your video. I’ll pray for you there please pray for me. Helen ❤💙
I’ve done that! Used my fingers! I carry a rosary in my purse and have one in each of my rooms. 🙏🏻
Thank you for all you do. I pray the rosary with your app and art work all the time.
We're glad you're here, Mary!
Also, you both will be in my prayers echoing what you said: Heavenly Father, wash over Greg and Jennifer with Your infinite graces through Our Lady who asks us to request all graces from her, she who is Full of Grace. Specifically, Mary our mother, for Greg and Jennifer I ask for wisdom to do your work, and for the strength to do it according to your will which is in perfect union with the Holy Spirit. In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.
Much appreciated, Brandi!
Nope, I do not keep a rosary on my person. I will lose it every time. But this abacus method is efficient. I like it! Thank you, Jennifer! Now, if I am praying the Rosary and need to stop, I'm usually in the kitchen so I will jot on the dry erase calendar "3-0" to remind me to begin at the beginning of the third Mystery with an Our Father, or "4-6" to start again with the sixth Hail Mary in the 4th decade. A lot of times I will finish the day's Rosary as I'm putting my youngest to bed. I'm going to use this abacus method!
I love your podcast and have the app. Thank you for your ministry.
Thank you for the inventive way to pray the Rosary! I always (almost) use a rosary bracelet. They are reasonably inexpensive and that way I always have a rosary with me.
Thanks for doing this. I feel similar to Greg, that if I'm hurting badly & want to cry, I won't cry because I believe that things will get worse. Just this morning, my eyes watered & I said no, it'll just hurt more. As much as I am hurting & want to cry & as hard as I have been praying for & missing my daughter, I won't cry. Thank you for being here !
I love the “new” to me way of being able to track the Rosary on my hands! Game changer!! I pray you’ll continue to be open the graces God provides to persevere any attacks and hills The Lord allows. Know of my daily prayers for you and your family.
The two of you have made a positive difference in my life. My time with each of you has improved my relationship with Jesus. I have taken that mustard seed throughout the world and have exponentially grown the seeds you planted within me. Thank you.
Greg, I've had the same thought about rosaries hanging from mirrors. If it reminds a person to pray, even if they don't use the physical rosary that's hanging from the mirror, then it can be a good thing. But indeed, I never see people take them down to pray. It becomes a decoration or an outward sign to others. But the prayer is what is needed. If someone behaves badly on the road and another driver looks over and sees the rosary, it can also reflect badly on Catholics in general. However, if in an accident, a rosary could signal to an emergency responder that if things are serious, they could call for a priest (if they are a good emergency responder). But that also assumes the rosary is still near the person or vehicle, which isn't certain. A rosary in the pocket is more likely to remain with you. I also tend to think a rosary on a mirror is likely a rosary rarely, if ever prayed.
When I was in either elementary or middle school (I don't recall), a teacher taught us to use our hands to count using a different method. It allowed each hand to go from zero to nine. The way most Americans count from zero to four remains unchanged, and that does NOT involve the thumb. The thumb alone is a five (like how an abacus would have fives handled by the beads that are sectioned off from the others). Then the thumb remains for each of the next four counts using the other fingers. Ideally, the fingers would touch the thumb, but it's not critical. Using this method, I can count to 99 easily, or manage two systems of numbers, such as the mystery number and which Hail Mary I'm on. It does leave you with a gap for the 10th Hail Mary, but you should know you completed the 9th, and just get that last one out of the way as you then end that mystery. I've also used this method to keep score for people while they played volleyball. Some people wondered if I really only had 10 fingers, as they could tell I was counting on my hands, which is more stable than memory. But I was keeping score up to 25 points or so for each of two teams. I just added the arm position for that. When the arm was pointing down to the ground, the tens digit was zero. When the part beyond the elbow is parallel to the ground, similar to when one goes to shake hands with someone, then it was in the tens. When I brought my hand up near my shoulder, it represented the twenties. Then the digits took care of the one's digit. If they were too close to win by two and kept going up into the 30s, I would just repeat the cycle, with 30s being down, knowing the score was always one apart, which made it easy. The knuckle system can work well, as long as you keep the thumb firmly planted in the correct spot.
Especially if have had stroke cottages singing back
Thanks for your prayers Greg. So grateful. 🙏 ❤
Michael the Angel 😮??
@@beney2k Hah. I often don’t even hear the words coming out of my own mouth ;)
We’re so glad it’s helpful! We don’t talk about it as much now, but 3.5 years later and I (Greg) am still going to weekly therapy with 2-4 EMDR sessions included each month. It’s a lot of work, very hard at times, and anxiety is still there, but it’s much, much, much less than it has been in the past. I still don’t like crowds and many social situations, but it’s been a huge help to not only seek therapy, but have an understanding wife and family that has not only learned what areas are difficult for me, but actively helps me both deal with and sometimes avoid them.
Hi Greg and Jennifer, I'm from Colombia, South America and I wanted to get some Catholic advice about the EMDR therapy. I try being careful since the New Age is hidden everywhere, but I've noticed several Catholic therapists have a positive view about this. Thanks for putting this on the table. I speak Spanish. I hope my message is clear. Thanks a lot❤
Guys I used to listen to you a long time ago on Podcasts format! ❤ I remember the episode another family visited your family (or the other way) I have you guys in my heart. Thank you for coming to TH-cam 😊
Sounds like beginnings of a very fruitful Advent talk. Prayers that your visit with the ladies group goes/went well. Come Holy Spirit. Our Lady of Guadalupe, praying for Jennifer and Greg.
Jennifer, I'm so glad you are feeling back to normal. I could tell as you walked in, you were better. You seem back to your same lively self. :)
Yikes, Greg! So happy Jennifer is ok. After looking at the date on this video, this must have happened the evening after we talked on the phone.
Here's a thought that can be thrown out. You could number it RAR 0918 for Rosary Army Revival. Not just in reference to the podcast, and differentiate between the older and newer episodes. But also because Our Lady is always reviving the Rosary in every generation.
Thank you Greg and Jennifer. Certainly can relate to "what if" happens. It is a chore because it seems things change monthly and then pile up and anxiety sets in.
Thank you for sharing my comment @43:13 It's called brachycardia. Hopefully another episode won't happen while you're asleep. If I'm not mistaken, don't you need to ask the Apple watch for a reading....it's not automatic. I hope you'll follow up and make an appointment with a cardiologist soon. None of us want to admit something can go wrong with our health. God bless you both. Kathy
Jennifer, I just remarried three-and-a-half years ago to a man who reminds me of Greg!!!! You remind me of myself!!! LOL ... I'm specifically talking about your dynamic, back and forth (just wanted to share)🤗🤓
1:00:07 🤣 "why you making it about me, Greg"? That's right, Jennifer!!! It's not your fault 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the way you interact. God bless you both.
You're very kind! Thanks for watching :)
Oh my Glory!! Thank God you’re OK!! I was holding my breath the entire time Greg was on with the 911 operator!! Praise God he kept his wits about him and Praise God you are both still here!! Thank you for the video and podcast but WHY IN THE HECK DID YOU DO IT!!! As Mac would say, “Y’all’s are CRAZYTOWN BANANAPANTS!!! But Thank God you’re OK!! I hope and pray you continue to heal and I will especially pray for Greg’s impending bout of PTSD.😅 God Bless you both. How did Lily handle the news btw?
Lily was surprisingly calm. Currently editing the next episode where we talk about how we shared the news with the kids.
Thank You for sharing this beautiful message! God Bless you and your family!
Thanks so much, Maria!
I’m so glad things went well. It sure would be nice to know the cause of this episode. 🙏🏻💞
We’re still trying to figure out the cause. We talk more about that on the next episode (hopefully releasing in the next few days).
So glad you are 'OK'. Keeping you in prayer while you heal
Thanks, Theresa! Hope you’re well :)
I’ve just caught up - I’m so glad you’re ok, Jennifer! I hope you’re feeling better and that Greg and the kids have recovered from the scare too.
Thanks, Jessica! And thanks for sharing your thoughts about Rosary Army the other day. Very helpful.
God bless you both and the work that you do. I'm so happy Jennifer is ok.My heart goes out to the both of you! I had a health scare last month and it made me realize that i too didn't feel ready to go Greg. I feel like our dear Lord has given me a second chance to draw close to Him and love Him like I should. The love between you is evident. So beautiful. ❤
Laura - Thanks so much for the kind words, and so sorry about your own health scare! Appreciate you watching and being here.
Greg, you said you need to detach more…you need to be better prepared to give back to God what he has blessed you with. Maybe from a practical standpoint, but from an emotional and spiritual standpoint, I’m not so sure. Instead I would say, trust God and pray that He will give you the grace, peace, and guidance IF this worst case scenario actually occurs.
Good perspective, Lisa. We shared this comment (and talk about this point) on the show we’ll be releasing this week.
🙏 sending love and prayers for both of you .
Thanks, Mary Ann!
Glad to see you are okay and thanks for sharing this, very moving. Pray you never have to go through anything like this again...
Thanks, Jeff! Jennifer said it was a blast from the past seeing your name pop up here!
Your body has taken some shock Jennifer and you too Greg. Seeing you both regularly with your spirit and resolve, I think that in both cases your spirit will absorb this shock. God Bless.
It’s definitely been a shock. Thanks for watching, Thomas.
Wow! Glad you are doing better. Take care both of you.
Thank you! You too!
You have given all couples a life lesson. God bless you hoth
Mary, that’s about the most helpful thing you could say. We really appreciate that.
Oh my goodness! How scary for you both, I hope your doctors can help you find out what the caused this. Grateful that Jennifer wasn't hurt badly. Offering prayers for you both and for your family.
Thank you for the prayers. Please continue to offer them up.
