What's up? Greetings from Sao Paulo, Brazil
Awesome! Welcome to our corner of TH-cam.
I just noticed something on Sazz's desk. The '''WEST TOWER'' note has the E that looks like a backward 3 and a block letter E. So did she write the door notes?
You think Sazz isn't dead?
@@TheNerdSocial I'm hoping she's not. She sure seemed to have a lot of padding in her shirt. And the x-rays could be fake to set up her story.
Yes so so woke I'm a black guy and yes it is good that there is black characters but how many black characters especially women does it need. The police woman is not only black but over weight... proper proper woke because it's obvious they're woke character tick boxing. Does this not remind everyone of when they tried to make snow white black and the seven dwalfs not to be dwarfs 😂 No more batman, or superman. I the future it will be Patterson, and super person 😂 Tell you what... I got through 2 episodes and just couldn't watch it anymore. Everyone should be able to be who they want... live and let live. My problem is I grew up watching batman animated shows, movies etc you ask me what Alfred looks like and I tell you old thin white man. You ask what's commissioner Gordon looks like, and I tell you white guy mostash. Let them try and pull that crap with a big budget batman movie, and there will be outrage. It will go down and bomb like joker 2 with lady Gaga.😂
Thank you for the analysis and review! I've been looking forward to this one. Cant forget my tiasues though!
Hope you enjoy it!
They destroyed another legend.
Hello, this is my first time watching and I am definitely subscribing. I’m so glad you popped up in my feed today! Great recap!
Thanks for watching!
Isn’t hooters hooters for butts lol
We'd like not to objectify women, but generally speaking (even though there isn't much uniform down there) not necessarily. Sydney Sweeney did a SNL skit earlier this year set in a hooters and the focus was not butts.
It's a great idea for a themed restaurant though. Something I we could definitely think would show up in Long Island.
Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lars Croft 8/10
Glad you liked it. What did you like about it?
I thought this episode was hilarious too
Yeah, it was pretty funny.
It was the slowest moving thing I've watched in years. The horror was how long I had to watch a mom abuse her kids without anything interesting to back it up. Had to cut it off about 1/3 of the way through, up until then the only possession shown was a mom in possession of babies she did not deserve. Terrible!
I enjoy your channel
It was easily the best episode this season. Love the structure and the background of the Brother Sisters. There are so many brother directing teams, it's nice to see the flip on the trope. Especially with the girls being dark and weird, it's not often portrayed in modern media outside of projects like Wednesday. The only issue I had was I knew who's shoulder it was just based on the rest of the episode. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds.
Glad you like the episode.
I appreciate when shows take risks like they did in this episode. It doesn't always work very well, but I think this one went well.
Glad you liked the episode. I think the annoyance I had came from the Brothers Sisters. They aren't as compelling as Theo Dimas. Director Cherien Dabis was Emmy nominated for her work in "The Boy from 6B". The episode itself won the Emmy for Sound Mixing. I don't know if they are going to win any Emmy's for this one.
I keep thinking it has to be someone who has been in the building for a long time. Who has a grudge against all three? Who can silently go about the building without anyone getting suspicious? I keep thinking about Uma. She wasn't happy that the cameras were being installed throughout the building. Could she be helping someone or did she see something? She was angry about Bunny getting killed. This was an excellent episode. I knew someone was watching them because Sazz's phone would also respond when they were asking questions about Sazz so they would think she was still alive. Also, I can't get over the police didn't catch there were two left shoulder metal pieces. Interesting!
Yeah, when writing notes about these episode we sometimes forget things tht occur to us while watching. The police miss was definitely a big one. NYC police in this show is perhaps the worse. Love Detective Williams though. Your thought about Uma was our thought about Uma which is why we mentioned it.
Dude!? Your into is too good, your voice is too good, your vocab is too good, your analysis is too good for you to just give us 4:20 of a review/post. STOP CHEATING US. We need more of this in our miserable lives. We losers/ your fans need more. Please review Penguin, Agatha All Along and Tulsa King 👑. In depth.
Glad you liked the review. We do review Agatha and Penguin every week. Colin from our team reviews those shows. There is a spoiler-free review of Agatha from Nathan on our channel too. He got the first four episodes in advance as a critic.
I appreciate that you mention who wrote the episode. Hardly anyone ever mentions the writer. I have my eye on Marshall, he has 20/10 vision and looked like he swallowed a mouse when he saw Glen.
Yep, making productions excellent is a collaborative effort unlike solitary art. You have some good observations about Marshall, that didn't occur to us. Why do you think he reacted that way to Glen?
There is an audio sync issue at a certain point in this video. We did our best to fix this, but we didn't want the video to be any later.
Hoping you review Matlock, From and Grotesquerie.
We reached out to find out if it was even possible. Paramount has even responded to the request for Matlock, and FX said they don't have screeners even though we've gotten screeners from other divisions at Disney like Marvel and Searchlight.
@@TheNerdSocial How unfortunate. I will respect their preferences by letting their choices will inform my choices.
Please, about the West Tower, Who lives in the apartments across the corridor??? Anyone who lives there has access to Dudenof's apartment too. Right?
You know it seems like there are not apartments across the hall. Like there are apartments on different floors but on that floor there are no inner apartments. Love to see a blueprints for the building because the corridors seem to be different in the east tower.
@@TheNerdSocial There are doors across the corridor. You can see them in some scenes.
How are you watching episodes 3 & 4?
I think reviewers and TV critics were given an advanced viewing access and some were also in a viewing event. All of them are under a spoiler review embargo.
As Lorenzo said, we are critics. We have press relationships with several of the studios.
oh! So the show gets gay??! Count me in!
Ha! If you've watched the second episode there is already sprinkles of queerness. :)
great review!
Glad you enjoyed it
How do we know for sure that Sazz is dead? There hasn't been a confirmation from the police indicating that she was put in the incinerator. Not sure what to believe in this season.
Honestly, been thinking about that since this episode. When the Bartender said "No Body."
Sup her to drop a comment for motion
Pardon?
Pardon?
I think they should have Goldie Hawn as the next guest star! Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, have a great chemistry and made 2 of the funniest and comedic movies! The out of Towners! And House sitter!! Phenomenal! I think she would be an awesome guest star!! I wonder if Steve Martin has thought of working with Goldie Hawn again..? And if not I would love to know why not Goldie?
That would be cool!
Loved it❤❤❤ I'm re watching it for a second look to see if I missed anything
Glad you loved it. :)
Possessed child for the umpteenth time. Can someone write something original for a change?
Yep, it was kinda basic and it wasn't well executed.
The cast was quite good. Glenn Close looking like a 21st Century version of Baby Jane Hudson! Worse film Popes Exorcist with Russel Crowe looking like a distorted Richard Burton!
Thanks for this comprehensive report. I've filled my tv spreadsheet.
Glad to be of service!
Well done!
Thanks!
New sub here. Good job. Great voice. You do radio?
Thank you for the compliment. No, Nathan doesn't do radio. Everyone on the channel has other jobs though. Nathan runs a STEM youth nonprofit and is a Tech consultant.
Mora is Mabel’s last name.
Thanks! Missed that! They say Charles Hadden Savages's and Oliver Putnams full name far more often on the show so that completely flew pass my head.
I binge-watched 6-episodes, was about to call it a waste at he 4th when it took-a-turn and I wanted to see how it turned out. I can see unfinished business for S2, but it all depends on the writers sense of continuity .. .
Yes, as said in the review there are ways they could have wrapped up the show as a mini-series. However, there are some dangling things that could be developed in a season 2. We'll see if it's worth it.
Brandy its 12 years older than Andrew Burnap omg
Yes, she actually mentions this in the movie. When he was talking about veggie tales she says that was after her time. It might also speak to why he was pushed around so easily by the older women in his life.
Free Palestine.
Sure, but what does this have to do with the show?
We appologize for this being so late this week. Over the past couple weeks we tried to do some edits the day of the drop to include video clips from the episode (The versions of the episodes critics get are sometimes unfinished and always have watermarks). That worked well last week, but this week for hours TH-cam rejected different edits of this breakdown because of the clips. We edited the video more than 45 times and finally got an edit that the algorithm was happy with. We'd like to include clips to make the videos more visually interesting (Hulu only releases a few photos from the episode to press before the episode debuts), but if we continue having issues we'll go back to the way we broke down the premiere. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Glenn Close needs an Oscar for playing a part of an Old Woman who needs to dress and act her age ???
Absolutely! :) Have you seen how Glenn Close usually acts and talks? She transformed for this role. Also, the statement in the video was more about her body of work as an actress. Winning an Oscar on a particular year isn't always about the movie you are nominated for. When an actress like Glenn is nominated the voters often consider her body of work. Now they aren't supposed to, they are supposed to judge the performances in that year. Which is probably why she's just missed it several times. There was a performances in the years that she was nominated that was deemed exceptional (by them) and she loss. However, there are Plenty of actors with less than half her career who were just more lucky the year they were nominated and they won not so much for the role they were nominated for but their body of work because no one else that year blew them out of the water.
Thanks so much for this INCREDIBLE review!!!! Was the hardest movie we ever worked on, but so worth it!!!!
Hey Garin! See you worked as a Medic on this one! I could imagine there were a lot of injuries from the stunt performances. Did the actors do some of their own stunts?
It is no wonder why KAOS is the best show of the year; Jeff G turns everything to gold... and this show is no exception! I loved it.
Jeff G is pretty exceptional. Pulls something extra out of every script. :)
Brandy carried this movie but this movie was a slow and painful death. Solange was hell on wheels and that Norman guy was weak. I'm like dude, you making all the men look bad what you doing. Help brandy out.
He was weak, perhaps because he grew up with Solange. However, he did warn her and Belinda just ignored his warnings.
@@TheNerdSocial basically all of his warnings.
I adored the movie, went and seen it today 9/10. The two women killed the roles. Mama was getting the young mother ready for motherhood. With Brandy what they say Black don't crack!!!! The accent of Hunter wow sold the annoying mother in law. M E SS Mess.
Nope
What didn't you care for?
3:14 to be fair the police operator asked if they were in “immediate danger” and when he said no they were put in queue with “68 emergencies” ahead of them.
Yes, That's fair.
I loved that they used movie's titles for episode titles. I also wonder if the titles are some times a clue.
Well so far, they just seem to be clues to what's going on in the episode. Directly and indirectly. Not going to spoil anything but every episode we've seen has a movie title as an episode title. However, we haven't seen past episode 7.
Who played Zeus's pregnant lover in Kaos episode 2?
Actually it's really unclear. In the scene her name isn't mentioned. The CC call her "Lover", but "Zeus Lover" doesn't show up in the credits. What likely happened is that she was named, and perhaps when the edited it her name was cut out. If you go to the IMDB page you can check the actors for that episode: www.imdb.com/title/tt8551094/fullcredits It's likely Bianca Bardoe, who is credited as DIa.
@@TheNerdSocial You're right, it was Bianca Bardoe. I had to watch it again. Thank you.
Glad to hear you dug this one! The movie felt like a really good modern take on First Blood, and Aaron Pierre balances coming off as a guy who can rip your head off but also best you with his wits very effectively. The plot overcomplicates itself after the first hour and halts the momentum a bit, but still a very solid action thriller. Great review, dude!
Yeah, people are comparing it to First Blood and as mentioned in our review Reacher. Comparisons to Batman have also been made, given the pains he goes to to avoid killing. Though in his case not killing is probably more about self-preservation than a "Code" that a billionaire who could probably get away killing is trying to uphold. Given how grounded this movie is, his character probably rightly assumes there is no story he could tell that would allow a Black man to go around killing a bunch of police officers and survive in America.
👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pause the video on season 3 episode 10 where "sazz" is entering into Charle's room. Its Eugene Levy!
Really?! You mean Playing Charles?
@@TheNerdSocial yeah, it's obvious if you pause at the right time
Charles says the West Tower is closed off from "The Real Arconia." That's rather snobbish. Both towers are part of the Arconia.
Yeah, they are both a bit snobbish. Charles just tries to hide it more. Established that they both have some money from their previous careers. Oliver probably less given his flops.
