excruciatingly painfull, when i saw him tip the first mix onto a dry bank board, i new it was all going to go horibly wrong. the b&q gardening tools then reinforced my suspicion. however he has obviously had some help setting up profiles and getting started. i admire his enthusiasm and wish him well. to be fair what you have done already is enough to get you the sack from any bricklaying job. however it could, with a bit more practice give you a niche interior design job. i've been a brickie back in the day for 25 years, mainly new builds but it was always focused on building regs and bullshit. as we all know these days, we go to a "posh" restraurant, and the plaster has been ripped off, walls sand blasted and pressure washed and sealed with sillicone sealant. most of the old victorian large properties were pre cavity and 9" or 18" walls. and all the damaged/ broken face bricks were used up by the aprentices on the interior walls never to be seen again, until now, when interior designers made it their cash cow. I drove my wife crazy when out for a meal i would be fixated by the exposed brickwork and be explaining how it came to be. it dosent look to me that you will ever be a house builder, but you might make a living from interior design, its supprising how many hairdresser shops and nail salons like a bit of brick. good luck mate.

If that's not an outhouse you're building and it's part of your living accommodation it should be a cavity wall and not 9 inch solid.I wish you well good luck.

its a workshop garage - not living accommodation

Just for future reference you should not use hammer on hole cutters, with carbide teeth it damages the them, with diamond it knocks the diamonds off. You want the cutter to cut not hammer drill, hope this helps for future cuts..

Another one of those motorbike riders who do not heed the notices at the end of the road, fail to use the passing places provided correctly, thinking passing places do not apply to them, forcing other vehicles to take evasive action and drive off the edge of the road whilst forcing their way throught at 40-50mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

If you mean the van at 4:44. There was no passing place between the van becoming visible and the passing location. I was going 57km/h at the point of passing which is 35 MPH (not 40-50). Slamming my brakes on and slowing to a crawl doesn't make me any narrower, in fact it makes me more unstable and therefore harder to thread through a small gap! Finally, the van is fine - had plenty of room. It's not as if there was a hedge or any other obstruction. Where there was a passing place (at 6:43) I used it or (at 8:51) where the passing place was on the car's side, I slowed! At 9:42 I went off the road just after the passing place because there are three bikes behind me following, we can't all fit in the passing place! At 12:10 again, no passing place and enough room for the car I was going 43MPH. At 34:39 both myself AND the car had the chance to stop at passing places, but we both saw there was enough room and chose to slow and pass (rather than stop abruptly). At 34:54 I again stopped just after the passing place, mindful of the three bikes following me. But the car chose to stop and let us past (having missed their chance to pull in to a passing place just yards before). At 35:00 I slowed to 23MPH and went onto the verge, to let the car past - No problems. At 44:54 and 46:08 the car/motorhome pulled up and let us through, probably mindful of the fact it is easier to rest stationary in a four wheeled vehicle than on a bike packed with camping gear etc. They got a wave of acknowledgement for their kindness. The inescapable conclusion from all this is that four bikes caused far less obstruction, delay and evasive action for oncoming cars than four cars or motorhomes would have! PS Many thanks for your comment, because without it I would not have rewatched this journey and relived the memories of a great trip!

A little bit of chat or commentary on the bike would have been nice, camera work was good, bit of wind noise but you could probably dial that out. Nice bike that (biased though because I have one) 👍
