    Good video 👍👍 just to add it's advisable cooking the lesser celandine leaves before consumption, some sources say you have to change the water several times. I personally don't know for sure, so I just stay away from anything within that genus.

      ah sorry for the late response, absolutely fine, in the video I hold this one for quite a while. As far as I'm aware you can touch and hold any mushroom without any issues. As long as you're not rubbing it into open cuts or consuming it.

      Yes however it will not extract nearly the amount of active compounds as grain alcohol.

    Ok, I’m reasonably certain I’ve identified common vetch around Cambridgeshire. Is there anything that you need to be carefull of mistaking it for, ( I know some members of the pea family are poisonous).

      yes, one called jacobs ladder. The rule I tend to use is if it produces purple flowers then it's safe.

We’ve got both pink and yellow vetch, but we’ve been hesitating to eat it because I’ve been told either the yellow or the pink is ‘the poisonous one’ And then, typically, I could never remember which one was edible in which one was poisonous So is that all totally wrong? Can you eat both pink and yellow vetch? Obviously, if you’re sure it is vetch

      Have you tried lacto fermenting nettle with less salt? I've tried it with loads of different amounts and found that the lower salt ones I tried produced a really unpleasant mud like flavour (I tried it loads of times to make sure it wasn't just unclean utensils and storage pots) but definitely try it out yourself with lots of different amounts of salt and let us know how you get on too. We're all trying these things and learning together :)

    Just had my septic system replaced, & the disturbed area of soil is now covered w/it. $7k to professionally poison it, dig up the roots, burn it, get new loam, & re-seed my lawn. Must be followed up for 3 yrs, & there's no guarantee it will never come back, bcs it's not uncommon, & spreading in New England. 😠 Woe is me!

      the rule I follow is any with purple flowers are good to eat and I avoid the seed pods of all of them :)

      @@totallywilduk6228 Thankyou, and what's your rule when it comes to foraging in parks and woodland like the new forest? do you believe the plants belong to the trust and are forbidden? and do you believe you can forage from an over hanging tree/shrub from someones garden? I personally think anything that is owned by an individual should not be touched as that accounts for stealing, but where as certain trusts that say you can't forage plants because there rules are so all over the place they can kind of do one, because what right do they have ownership over them when the earth is The Lords.
