"Hazardous Material", turbocharged John Deere 70 Diesel ,pulling at Mardella Springs, Maryland 1999 in the Outlaw Open Antique class. Won the 5,500 lb class in a double pull-off with John Hills' super tough Moline UB. Hill won the 7,500 lb class decisively.

@@joutdoorsmen23 Well, they both run great, one an exhaust gasket had blown, the other, the transmission broke. So, no problems with the engines or how they are tuned.😁

We had an MD and a super MDTA a lot time ago
I wonder why they built the MD? About the only benefit I can think of is for easier starting in cold weather. I think the gas tank is too small to run the tractor all day long on gas.
Not designed to run very long on gasoline. Gas engine is ONLY used as a pony motor to start the diesel engine. You run all day long on diesel.
Fuel-efficient, run longer on same amount of diesel as gas

13 MM , 830 injection pumps, and drilled out inj. tips.
So I got a 720 with 13mm pumps you reckon it’s the same flow? Thanks for the feedback also.
@@user-yv5jx3ng7f There is a LOT of "tweeking" you need to do to get maximum fuel delivery, it takes a while to get it right.

Deere Power is my all-time favorite pulling tractor. She's not all shiny and fancy but boy does she go at the track and so her plain clothes will really fool ya until you see her run. I love her. Thanks for this video, Bill.

Bill -- Is this the video you was referring to when I said I wish there was a restoration / build video for Deere Power on the video for Ether Eater? This is a good video but I was hoping for one where you explained everything. Do you have one like that? Your mechanical skills really impress me. I never really knew how these super stock tractors are built and how they put out so much horsepower and I would really like to know that. Hint Hint. LOL. How many horsepower does Deere Power put out? BTW, The Wreck of The Old '97 is one of my favorite songs. This lady in this video sings it really well. Here is a Canadian fella I found a few years ago that does an excellent job on it. Sadly he died a few years back but I am glad his videos are still up. He does a great job on a lot of old time songs and you might want to check those out too. He really had a heart for the old songs. Does no one know how to change gears on the sled box?
The most fun I ever had in my life was watching 4 tractors pull a 50' long store building on runners about a 1/4 mile. A bunch of us 2 and 3 year olds were staying with mamaw. I love tractor pulling but for a young lad, actually seeing them accomplish something over a 5 hour period was bliss. There was a little kerosine burning John Deere that even out pulled the M Farmall and a 1975 model Diesel International. What is amazing is how much tire spin the John Deeres make considering it sounds like they are turning 800 RPM.

What size injector you running?
They are John Deere 4430 injectors. I drilled out the 4 hole tips, I think to .025 or maybe a little bigger. I wanted to run what they had back then.

Good eye! I had it stretched out to 4320 wheel base, called it a 4320 years ago.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I've been going to pulls for 54 years,most will argue there's no wheelbase difference between a 4010/4020 and a 4320,till ya Park em side by side
