Has anyone tried unlocking more brightness on an LCD model? I'm contemplating buying an 8K QN900B model from 2022. The reason I'm willing to go out of my way to buy a discontinued TV is, it appears to have excellent BFI mode at both 60 and 120hz. The only problem is, the 2024 4K QN90D from 2024, while inferior in resolution and slightly blurrier in motion in its BFI mode, has the advantage of retaining a lot more brightness. So if I had the assurance that I could get a bit more brightness on the QN900B, I would go with that for sure. The higher end QN95D, as well as the newer 8K QN900C and QN900D only strobe at 60hz so that's a pass for me. Their 60hz BFI mode is very dim anyway.

The first step works OK but the second step pressing 1 2 3 4 does not do anything on our early 2024 model S90C. Is it different for this model?

@@ezwidor I can get into advanced but WBmovie, picture2d and EPA do not show up on my newer samsung,,, they do show up on my older samsung, hoping someone finds a way to get into EPA
Go to svc. Then other settings. Then cal data. It will say usb not conscted . Press ok. Go back . Higlight adanced and hold volume up 5 sec. Then press 0098

1234 is not working for me it wont take me to option menu
Does not work for us either on our S90C. First step works, but oressing 1234 does not do anything at all.
TY it works guys my s90c 77 inch went from 1250 to 2120 nits in window hdr calibration but i did more than increasing anapeak to 1023 i turned off screen saver in control and in WDmovie increased the value of W Peak and the other 3 settings under it check this guys settings i did the same and got the 2120nits th-cam.com/video/HcxVCGkSQnw/w-d-xo.html

Does anyone know how to turn OFF “Bluetooth” from the service menu? I’ve done it before on my TU7000 but I can’t find the BT setting on my. TU7000 (2023) thanks
I would ask the same thing. Newer model 2023 and I want to turn off that Bluetooth. It works on the older model, but now it's gone???

@@wanha.renttu yea BT was literally right next to WiFi for any models before. Now there’s no option at all for BT. Did you also know our TV’s are in sleep mode when we shut them off?? Yea like a PC. It doesn’t completely shutdown. So everything month I unplug it to reset cache and all that crap. Every month I also go into device care and run device care. If your tv feels slow or anything it’s because of the smart features they take allll the available GB from TVs storage. Only leaves roughly like 15-20% depending on what apps you have downloaded. I don’t use any smart features, or stream from tv at all. I use another device. TV lasts longer, atleast from my experience with Samsung since like 2013
@@wanha.renttu no option to find it. Tried and looked everywhere even asked a Samsung care tech I know and she said it’s not even available at all. Unless Samsung uses a software update and decides to include the option for BT
For those of you who “HOLD down the volume UP” button when “option” is highlighted but doesn’t work, scroll down and highlight “Advanced” then hold down “Volume Up”. Then allllll the options should pop up!!!! (This particular works for the CU7000) Also does anyone know how to TURN OFF Bluetooth through the service menu? I’ve done it on a 2020 Samsung TU7000 and I was able to find BT and turn it off but I’m having a hard time trying to find it on my 2023 Samsung CU7000

Ok I just bought an 77 inch S89C which has the Gen 2 panel, I’ve been trying to do the S95C mod on it but I’m not sure if I have done it properly, should I just do what your doing here instead? Does that S95C mode give you anything else other than brightness?
Only change panel type to A4OUSOC and don't modify anything else.

0098 does not work on traditional remote. It appears that a service menu remote is required.
This is disabled in newest firmware for me

i just got the s90d and when i use the win11 hdr calibration app it maxes out at 900 nits. All pc games that are hdr10+ compatible have a preset recommended value of 800 nits. the 1234 trick doesnt work with this tv. i have ordered a service menu remote from ebay for 12 bucks. im hoping your tutorial will still be relevant

hmmm… pressing volume up didn’t work with firmware 1410. The other menus work. But I wasn’t abale to get the more advanced menu to come up
You have to use the other remote to bring up the other menu. Scroll down to advanced and press and hold up volume on the small remote.

You missed one HUGE step. You also need to go into WB/Movie and change Peak w. to 175 HM Pat Peak w. to 185 HM Con Peak w. to 175 HM Pat Peak w. PLUS to 185 If you don't EOTF will be completely messed up in HDR.

Your assumptions of ANAPEAK does not apply to Gen 2 panels. Gen 2 has an increased peak of 2000 nits @ ANAPEAK 1023. By doing this mod you've increased 1-9% windows from 1150 cd/m² @ 588 to 2000 cd/m² @ 1023. That's an increase of ~850. Stock 588 = 1150 cd/m², not 750 cd/m² (lol). The S90C has never been nerfed.
So whats your recommendation for S90C for Anapeak 1 and 2 values to boost the brightness more safe? What if you just change the Panel Type from S90C to S95C? Still have to change all those settings manually?

There's not safe mode, if you modify you assume your risk, the panel easily can work with 1023 mod, since I already have it for 5 months, the luminance increase is almost all for HDR in windows below 10%. If you want less luminance try 1750 nits, my mod AKA S95D Taste. Ana Peak in both 875 and correct EOTF with WBMovie values 160 180 180 160

Did you get a great discount? Planning on getting one myself now that there wasn’t a new one released on Monday…well, and realizing that even the M1 is overkill for my needs. I am expecting some good discounts on it for Black Friday, so waiting a bit while also checking out prices on second hand units.
That sounds like a plan! I actually did end up returning it and getting an M1 Mac mini because it was so much cheaper but if you want the iPad looking for a Black Friday deal Definitely sounds like a good plan.
