The princesses sapphire eyes twinkled as she gently stepped off the grand staircase of the ballroom. Her heels made a slight clicking sound as a cue before the music began to echo through the ballroom. The melody of her life seemed to be standing right in front of her as her people’s heads bowed in respect. “Welcome, to my home!” She heard her mothers voice break through the air. The princess continued to make her way into the room, smiling as she caught the eye of someone who will help her get to what she dreamed of, a glint was shared before she proceeded to meet the eyes of the crowds, all there for her. - “Would you like a glass of wine, my dear?” Her mother offered the girl a glass, filled with crimson liquid. She accepted it with a smile and held the wine near to her lips. She quickly took a smell, acting normal. the cinnamon was clear. She understood why her mother wished to poison her. The princess smirked, excusing herself, before running towards the jewel hall. “You made it.” a voice entered her ears. “I did.” she raised her glass. A clink echoed around the room, shaking the jewels with even the slight sound. Lifting it to her lips, the princess to a sip from the glass. Enjoying the pleasant taste, she downed the drink before putting her hands into her companions hand. “Let us dance into death.” They whispered into her ear, pulling her close. The songs chorus came, her smile only widening, she hummed along with the music as they stepped back and forth. The simple steps making a beautiful dance. Hand on her partners, steps in perfect sync, the final twirl and- the song ended as quickly as it started. Her melody, finishing at only 23. The two angels before each other just as they have for the thousands of years prior, before with a feeling of joy and freedom in each others presence of their parents strict rule over the afterlife, but now with a feeling of betrayal and shock. All that stood around them was a completely empty ballroom, the space they had gone to play when they were ever so young, to talk and generally have private time when they were older and now to either resolve their problems or to kill. A tug between peace or war. The older of the two had expressed opinions beyond what all of those in the afterlife had thought to be acceptable, giving others yet another chance, after prolonged protests about the unfairness had been sentenced to death by her own mother. She barely escaped and hid for hundreds of years in places more terrifying than anyone could imagine, losing almost all sense of normalcy and wanting nothing more but to go home and be back with society. The other having had experienced the loss of the one she found the most comforting, under the impression she had died, ran away to earth under the form of a human, hidden away in a forest, grieving and reminiscing on old, breaking memories, only staying concealed by a spell formed with the power of her loss. Hundreds of years passes, she created a life for herself and finally starts to recover. The spell weakens. The older sees her chance, staying in tune with news from the afterlife, knows that the younger is wanted back, maybe if she was able to sacrifice her maybe she could rediscover society and be accepted, or even take over, with the power she had collected and been storing over the years, memories so broken she barely feels any sympathy. A week of trailing after her and her human “friends” and now they’re finally together again. Confused emotions fog their minds. Light streams in through the windows, pearly and warm, illuminating the specs of dust floating down and sparkling. Oh, memories so broken.

"Your majesty are you sure about this? You become queen tomor-" "I'm **very** sure" [Present] The princess walked around until a man asked her to dance. "May I have this dance m'lady" he asked bowing with an open hand out. The princess looked at him. She knew it was him. The assassin. "Why of course." She place her hand on the mans and they started dancing. The princess looked at his suit coat. A shimmer appeared for a moment. A handle of an expensive gold dagger embedded with diamonds. "You're very charming." The princess said with a fake smile on her face. [Flashback] "Love? Love where are you?" The princess called. Her mother out of the castle and her father had died long ago. The princess didn't even know her father. But that didn't matter. What did matter was the princess got to spend the next week with her lover. Their love was forbidden as they were both females and of different classes but they didn't care; they loved each other and that's all that mattered to at least them. The princess entered the empty ballroom in search of her lover. "Love? Are you here? Please come out, you're scaring me." She made her way down the first set of the stairs and turned her head. There was her lover. With a dagger in the her shaking fist. The blading was right up against her chest. Her head turned down. Her long-ish hair obscuring her face. "Wait! NO!" The princess screamed. But she couldn't stop her. The knife pierced her heart and she fell to the hard marble floor; a blood puddle growing larger and larger. The princess didn't even run down the second set of stairs. She just jumped over the rail on the set of stairs he was on, crashing into the floor. She got up as quickly as she could and ran to her dying lover. "No don't leave me! Please!" The princess pleaded as she picked up her lover in her arms; blood getting all over her. "Dont leave me...Please.." [Present] "Why thank you." The man replied. "No, thank you." The princess spoke. The man was confused. Why'd she thank him? "What're you thanking me for? The dance?" The princess continued. "No. You'll know why soon. At the end of our dance." The man was curious but didn't further question her. After all; he'll get his answer soon enough. The music got more intense. [Flashback 2] The princess stretched. She had just woken up and heard the piano in the ballroom. She headed over still in her night gown. She knew her lover was the only one playing because they were the only ones in the castle (except for a few knights of course) The princess was sure to be quiet so she could hear her lover play, the last couple times she was noticed and her lover would stop playing for they would get embarrassed. The princess stood at the top of the stairs an listened. She had never heard something so.. so.. she didn't know the word. All she did know is it made her feel something . something emotional but not the good kind. it was.. painful. That's how the music felt. Maybe that's why her lover killed herself..because she felt only pain. [Present] As the music started to get to the more intense parts the man's ears. "This is.. interesting music." The man said half annoyed. He continued. "Did you really request this song. If so; may I ask why?" the princess looked at him and smiled and answered him the same. "You'll know why soon. At the end of our dance." The man was getting impatient and more curious on what the princess meant. But he persisted. Just a few more minutes until it was time. They continued to dance and the music was nearing the end. "May I escort you outside?" The man asked. "Oh. Of course." The man knew it was close to time.. and so did the princess. They sat down at the fountain. The man grabbed her hand and kissed it. "Like I said. Very charming." The man looked at her and smiled. "Want to know something?" The princess looked at him. "Why of course. I'd love to know more about you." The man lied. The princess look away from him and down at the ground. "I had a lover before this." The man's eyes widened. "Really? Who was he?" The princess looked at him and smiled softly. "That's the thing; it wasnt a "he"" The man was even more shocked. "I- wow. Who was she then?" The princess looked at him. Shocked he wasnt disgusted. "You aren't disgusted?" The man looked at the ground. "No I had a friend. She liked women too. She killed herself." The princess looked at him. Her eyes widened. Could it be...? She must check. "What was her name?" "Ophelia" The princess started crying. She smiled. "Well I guess I dont need to explain who she was then." The princess's placed her head on the man's shoulder. It was time. The man felt horrible for doing this. "Please just kill me already. I know that's why you came. Please let me be with her again." One shock after the other. The man was speechless. The man grabbed the knife and the princess fell to the floor and a puddle of red formed. Just like Ophelia. "Aspen. That's my name. It was lovely to dance with you... Axel." The princess took her last breathe and it went black.
