      @plumburgency7131 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thegribblereport8383 Depending on what "green pipe" you mentioned, you may need an adapter. Some SDR pipe (SDR 26, SDR. 30, and SDR 35) that is primarily used in sewer applications is green and has a smaller outside diameter than the typical schedule 40 DWV pipe. The smaller OD of that "green pipe" requires the use of an adapter bushing in order to be used with typical SCH 40 DWV fittings.

    One thing I have noticed is that there are fumes generated by the heat of the saw as it cuts. I assume these have to be ventilated and there’s no way they are good for someone to inhale.

    Do you have to use the mechanical fittings at the cleanout, or can you use a coupling if you're attaching to a 4" PVC line?

    • @plumburgency7131
      @plumburgency7131 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The mechanical fittings are used when installing a cleanout in an existing system where you are "pipe locked" and don't have axial movement to enable the use of regular solvent weld fittings. Please always refer to your local plumbing code when installing plumbing fittings. The plumbing code that is approved for your area will list approved joints.

    How much do you tighten the 'fernco' (sp?) rubber sleeve?

    • @plumburgency7131
      @plumburgency7131 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      According to Furnco.com the bands should be tighten to 60in lbs. I typically use a Ridgid R31410 Torque Wrench but there are "tricks of the trade" such as setting a drill chuck to slip at close to tightness with a 5/16" nut driver that can be used to greatly improve efficiency on larger jobs.

    Can you use a masonry (diamond) blade without damaging the blade?

    • @plumburgency7131
      @plumburgency7131 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've not tried it. The only hesitation I'd have is the PVC may clog the blade causing heat retention and distortion. For the cost, if it's all I had and I was in a pinch, I'd try it.

    What’s considered very deep and shallow when you were talking about the depth of a sewer cleaner being able to work efficiently

    • @plumburgency7131
      @plumburgency7131 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My experience: a drain/sewer line 3ft deep and deeper that is clogged will benefit greatly from the double wye configuration. I typically use an Electric Eel machine that runs an 1-1/4" cable; however, if I'm using the Ridgid K7500 drum machine with 3/4" cables I have greater flexibility in the cable so I didn't need the assistance of the wye as much. So, to directly answer your question, I consider any drain cleanout 5ft deep or deeper very deep for the purpose of installing a two-way cleanout tee.

    To solve the excess flexibility of the PVC cutting blade. Make 2 holes on it and sandwich the blade between 2 metal or wood strips in the whole length of the saw. This way the saw stays rigid. If not needed anymore you could simply remove the strips.

    Yup, don't use a 2 way Clean out on a pipe that is too deep. Because once that line gets clogged you can't see nothing or know what direction the cable or hose bladder is going...so it's better to use the the 2- 4 inch combo littys...
