These guys were never told this driving school probably because they never went to driving school: Hand position is VERY important on the shifter knob. For those who don't have a license yet, here's how your hand should be positioned on the shifter knob for this patern which the most common on cars nowadays: 1 3 5 2 4 6 Your palm should be placed on the right side of the shifter if you're doing these: 1 to 2; 3 to 2; 2 to 1. Your palm should be on the top of the shifter when you're doing these: 2 to 3; 3 to 4; 5 to 4; 4 to 3 Your palm should be on the left side of the shifter when you're doing these: 4 to 5; 5 to 6; 6 to 5. For reverse, it doesn't really matter since you'll be at a complete stop when the engine is idling.

1:32 the only guy that seemed to realize whats going on in this whole video Edit: if you’re on the street with an old manual, you should probably sort out your old engine mounts, because sometimes the transmission gets torqued to the side under heavy load and transmission wont line up causing you to miss
