Bill Cullen Show 2 19 53
The Bill Cullen Show was a short lived CBS daytime show that aired for 13 weeks on Thursday mornings on CBS. Joining Bill was Milton DeLugg and singer Betty Brewer. The show was sponsored by Mogen David Wine. I believe the show originated from one of the CBS studios at Liederkranz Hall in New York. For more information about the career of Bill Cullen, check out billcullen.net. There is also a biography of Bill by Adam Nedeff, published by BearManor.

Spotlight Manhattan Transfer interview 1976
Notice how Carrol got sensitive when he said he played that role very well Yep that is your typical hypocrite liberal.
My brother and sister and I loved watching Engineer Bill. We used to save our milk from dinner to play red light green light.
Odd about the lights in the background, sometimes they are off the on like @ 1:28. Bad wiring? Great Irish joke at the end.
Thanks, very interesting
Genius actor and terrific person. Whole cast worked so well together. Thank you Mr. Scully.
I finally found the reason why me at 4 years old would have changed the channel within 10 seconds - I was NOT watchable & still loved JEOPARDY with Art Fleming at the same time + What's My Line, Three on a Match & The Newlywed Game (was watch this with MON & DAD) !!
this is nice. Thank you for posting.
I used to watch this show
The show opens with a pair of Jacks
It's 2024 while writing this, and AITF is hands down my all-time favorite TV show. 50+ years later, people still watch it and love it.
I hope all the episodes of “Words and Music” (NBC from September 28, 1970-February 12, 1971) restores by the television time machine.
This is a really wonderful interview. I’m surprised no one else has left a comment. And I’m a little surprised that Benny couldn’t remember the name of the Apollo Theater in Harlem. But that’s okay. It was great hearing former band members calling in.
Dave Hull was also there in the 80’s. I was his producer.
Great show. Hayes did these retro countdown shows for years and he always presented a joyful & informative spectacle.
Do you have any Charlie O'Donnell and Bob Eubanks airchecks?
I will have to look. I have hundreds of audio tapes from Los Angeles radio stations to my own radio show.
liberals/democrats were disgusting in 1973. They are the same today in 2024.
JUST THINK - he was only 49.
Archie is so handsome.
Only Archie's class and Norman Lear could do this.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A well fitting audio capsule of one of the most influential & digable stations of all time.
I love to see Carroll O’Conner smile.
What would Sam think of today's music scene? 1978 was head and shoulders above today in terms of creativity.
Tim Hauser was a cool cat!
Jerry was a genius, my favourite score of his is 'The challenge' it is a masterclass in film scoring the odd meters and instruments always keeps you on the edge of your seat, Total recall is good and also the hijacking cue in Air Force One. I think these composers are all gone now except Bruce Broughton. Jerry had so much range as a composer , but hollywood prefer Hans Zimmer and Desplat sounds thesedays.
I enjoyed the interview. Rick sounded like he was very much at himself.❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊
I dated Gussie for about six months around 1970. What a great woman.
LOVE this interview. 12:11 I respect - and like very much - his view on being an actor. THANK YOU YOU TUBE
But the show showed us that Archie was a three dimensional person and he wasn't a bad dude. He showed incredible love for his family and eventually even Meathead.
Precious
Johnny Gilbert was the announcer.
What a charismatic man he was ❤❤❤ Looking back at this interview , it somehow seems , like he's still going strong ..... ( alive ) ***** Strange to see SMOKING on tv being allowed back then .......
he always seems like a sad soul to me.
Is it me or was Jerry giving hints of frustration in the interview or interviewer?
He is pretty abrasive, probably cost him good projects.

Vin Scully ??
Only two artists had a number one Rock & Roll album in the1950's - one is Elvis. The other? Rick Nelson. God bless Rick.
Prominent CBS announcers-Bern Bennett, Roy Rowan, Bill Gilliand, Bill Martin, Don Robertson, Jack Slattery, Harry Kramer.
And Alan Berns.
@@timglende8869 - As well, Art Hannes, Norm Stevens, Lee Jordan, Wally King, Dave Campbell, Bob Hite - and the first African-American to be hired by any major network as a staff announcer, Pat Connell (who preceded by six years NBC's hiring of Fred Facey). On 'the Coast,' I can think off the top of my head Bud Sewell (who announced for CBS Radio's 15-week 1957 "The Stan Freberg Show"). Would anyone know which shows another CBS voice, John Shafer (surname sometimes spelt 'Schaeffer'), would have handled?
On Talent Scouts, a young Richard Pryor.
Was that an attempt to revive the franchise after "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" was ended, perchance?
Too bad this show didn't last long. Vin was great doing a talk show.
TWO AMERICAN ICONS!
I really enjoyed hearing Ricky's voice speaking in his shy way. I still listen to his records. Thank you Ricky for being you.❤
Thanks for posting, I would never have had any opportunity to view this interview from 50 years ago
Sam didn't want to give Marion Keisker full credit for discovering Elvis. He was not there,he did not discover Elvis, and he did not record ELVIS first.
Goldsmith composed Oscar-worthy music for The Swarm(1978) and Inchon(1982). Movie critics hated those films.
The station carried by radio giants, such as Wolfman, Harve, Casey, Eubanks, The Emperor, Biondi, Hull, Jimmy O, Real Don, Tuna, Huggy, Art Laboe, Hayes & many others, lead by Wagner.
@@TucumcariTimmy and I was blessed to work there in the 60’s and ended up being Dave Hull’s producer and head of research. They called me Momo.
It’s wild to hear him talk without a NY accent
The interview was fresh after Elvis' death so feels more real. Narratives got a little crazy later on. Its touching how he remembers Elvis the teenager and human being. Sam was a great man.
I can't stop watching All in the family and Mary Tyler moore shows.Addicted to the marvellous scripts and talented actors!
A brilliant man! 🌟❤️
This is great!!!
