The Wheel of Samsara & The Three Poisons: A Buddhist Insight
In this video, we delve into a fundamental Buddhist teaching: the concept of the Three Poisons Ignorance, Desire, and Hatred. These three mental states are seen as the root causes of suffering in the cycle of samsara, the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
The image of the Wheel of Samsara, also known as the Wheel of Life, symbolizes this cycle. At the center of this wheel, the Three Poisons are represented by a rooster, a snake, and a pig, symbolizing craving (greed), aversion (hatred), and ignorance (delusion). For many of us it’s hard to hear this with the music playing. Please could you reload it without music? The sound quality of a video is more important than the visual. The sweet music is annoying when trying to learn! Think about it… would you ever have music playing in the temple when the master is speaking? NO!! Thank you 🙏🏻
