A bluegrass festival on top of a very windy mountain in Ehime. I don't play any bluegrass but they let me play some country songs. Hatori san from Kochi joined me for Teach Your Children which lifted it to the next level. Just before I went on I was given an extra ten minutes to fill; I thought I could sing some old favourites but nerves got the better of me and I forgot my words.

Same as last month's original composition but with a transition to E major thrown in. Inspired, subconsciously, by maestro Steve Howe's The Clap.

"Compose something using C, F and G chords or variations thereof" was this month's challenge. I used all the major chords with a run of C diminished inversions for the turn around.

One of my all time favourites but a tough one so this is take 1 slowly. The challenge is to get it up to speed, of course.

An original and simple composition on acoustic guitar. I tried to add something other than the usual cliche lines by throwing in odd chords and a section in a different tempo. They sounded odd at first but after repeated playing I got comfortable with them; perhaps that's the way to do it.

I took one of Brian Sherrill's compositions and rearranged it slightly to make it easier to play and to suit my ear. Not my usual style at all but I can't stop playing it, fortunately, as I still have several rough spots to iron out.

I love Cream but this style is new to me and it took a lot of work to get it up to this basic level. It makes me appreciate the skill of EC and all the other blues lead guitarists.
