If you think of the steel post as a paint stick. The fence bends inwards and outwards. The paint stick on edge will prevent the fence from moving inward and outward more that the same paint stick mounted as you suggest. Also, I wouldn't suggest the post daddy as compared to the Home Depot stake. Good luck with your project.

HI Ben. Try this in your search.... "WEYERHAEUSER 3/8 in. x 1-1/2 in. x 36 in. Flat Steel Stake" I don't think they are available at Amazon or Ebay. Also, I don't think they ship this item it is only available in the store. Also, be careful there is a flat steel bar with the exact dimensions without the taper and holes. Lastly, even if you cannot find it online, I'm confident in the store they probably will have them. Somewhere by the concrete area and rebar. I think most concrete people use this stake as they are quite cheap, with nail holes and various sizes. The price I found just before writing this post was just under $15.00. Finally, there is another option. "Simpson E-Z Mender 12-Gauge" $17.48 at Home Depot. They are in the "Simpson Tie" area. Simpson makes a zillion connectors for wood and concrete. I think this is perhaps a better fix than mine just a little more money. It is available at Home Depot. Also, Ebay has the best price includes shipping. Best wishes. jerry

I hope you heard the reason why I said they "deny Christ." The reality that Watchtower tells them "don't partake." To partake is to say, "Yes I believe Jesus body was broken for me. Yes I believe He shed His blood for me." To watch the emblems go by is to "deny Christ." I will not embrace HIm nor His remedy for my sins. I have no desire to be with HIm. I will follow the Watchtower rather than Christ. I pray that Christ will be worth following for you and your family.

@@jahtruthdefender Sounds like you didn't even read my reason why witnesses "deny Christ." Please look at it again and then "specifically" give me a precise reason that I am wrong. Vague comments about man made religious traditions is really a poor defense. BTW. I don't know of any true Christians that believe everyone will go to heaven. I think if you admit it you must follow JW.org regardless where truth and reason leads. You must NOT think independently from the Watchtower.

However, I will further clarify but could you elaborate on the statement “not knowing of any true Christians that believe everyone will go to heaven.” Where do true Christians believe true Christians are going if not heaven? Here’s the thing on “independent thought” which every person has, however, no bible text says we are to have independent thoughts when it comes to bible beliefs and teachings. Jerry that is what has lead to 10’s of thousands of Christ based faiths. We adhere to the bible to be in unity and one thought. That means believing the *same* teachings and beliefs(Philippians 2:2)

This requires you look at each word, the meaning, and attempt to at least understand what you are about to defend. AGAIN, No true Christian believes EVERYONE will go to heaven. This would mean that every person ever born on planet earth will go to heaven. AGAIN true Christians don't believe that. Most people will end up in hell, lost forever. Those that are saved which will be a much smaller number will all go to heaven. You will be with Jesus your savior. This is what it means to be a Christian.

Hello. I hope you are a "true Christian" today. We've been to Mormon events many times and they tell us the same thing. But for those honest JWs and Mormons, I've known many that are now true believers that today are grateful to those they once hated. I would agree with those who say they are being persecuted if their homes were being burned down, they were stoned, imprisoned and beheaded, as the early Christians and thousands of Christians around the world today are, but reasoning from the word or quoting their own books could hardly be considered persecution. Some really understand that we truly love them rather than walk by on the other side. BTW Thanks for the comment.

@@jerrybenson I'm not religious anymore, I became agnostic. "True Christian" is how each of the tens of thousands of denominations refer to themselves, to the exclusion of all the others. Every denomination tailors their doctrine according to their scriptural interpretation.

@@user-vo4wc2jz8g Tragically, the masses of JWs that leave the faith rarely become "true Christians." I can say that after 40 years of attempting to rescue those deceived by the Watchtower that their minds are so poisoned that they abandon everything when they discover the Watchtower Society is a false religion. I also am totally confident that I can't reason you into the kingdom of God. I am however privileged to explain the precious gospel as best I can and trust God to transform hearts. You desperately need a new "living" heart that is currently "dead." Until you see the seriousness of the weight of your personal sins, the gospel remedy will be foolishness. I pray that you might encounter the living Jesus who still beckons, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. @@jerrybenson when somebody calls themselves a "true Christian" it's purely conjecture. As I said before, every Christian thinks of themselves as such. As I said before, I'm agnostic. I'm equally as unlikely to observe Yom Kippur or practice Prayaschitta for my Adharma.

I do agree however the JW organisation is destructive, often dishonest and bears many of the hallmarks of a cult.

Mr 1914. In your first three sentences you have well over one hundred words and about 9 Bible references. Take a deep breath and give me your best reference that one could determine that Jesus is a created being. (p.s. I know this is off topic but was wondering why you would use the Watchtower false prophecy date of 1914 as your TH-cam identifier?.... don't worry we won't go after any rabbits just wondering???)

@@Mr.DC3.1914 Take a deep breath. Let me help you a little. So I ask again, give me a verse we can carefully examine that is clear that Jesus is a created being. Here is an example that Jesus is the CREATOR and that He is God. John 1:1 says that the Word (Jesus) was with God and that He is God. The next few verses follow that Jesus is the creator. Certainly you have a verse where we could clearly see that Jesus is a created being, Michael the Arch Angel. P.S.

Good question and I'm happy to say that there is very little difference now and when I repaired it 3 years ago. It's holding up very well and I am very happy with the results. You can't buy the stake for $7.50 any more, but the good news it's still available now for almost double the price which is still a good deal.

Hey Dennis. I assume by the word "bracket" you mean the Simpson EZ Mender. This is a great product but really doesn't need you digging out concrete. I have used them as well. My point at the time of the video is they were more than double the price. Now nearly the same as my steel stake. Simpson suggests you use 2 one front and one back. This would make a strong repair and quicker and cheaper than the digging out the concrete and mixing as you suggest. My repair wouldn't have had a patch if the rails were a different location as the Simpson brochure. My personal opinion is that 2 Simpson's would have been a better repair than mine just 3 times the cost and double the labor.

Hi Dennis. I don't know what kind of concrete you use in Florida, but the main issue is digging out the concrete. It's not unusual to dig a hole 2 1/2 feet deep and 10-12 inches in diameter. About 2 bags concrete. Not an easy dig even in Florida. Of course the post must be removed from the rails along with the vertical boards covering the post. Probably ruin a couple of verticle boards. Even Florida fencers will spend a day or more. My cost was $7.50 and a half hour of work. Today about 15 bucks. If you wanted to place the steel post on the inside you wouldn't have a patch and would lower the time to about 15 minutes. Don't think the Florida method even comes close. :>)

Hi Dennis. You do know why the repair was being made don't you? Fence post rot and break at ground level which is very common. The post is now 2 pieces. One above ground and one below. How are going to dig concrete out? Even if you could now you need a NEW post and reassemble rails and boards. The reason I put the steel post on the side is that it is much stronger since the fence tends to lean either outwards or inwards which makes the repair stronger as illustrated. However, put a video up of your repair and prove me wrong. Blessings.
