Vaquero Ontario
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 พ.ค. 2013
This channel will primarily promote good horsemanship - mostly in the Vaquero tradition - ideally to promote this particular style of Horsemanship in Ontario and elsewhere. We highly recommend the clinicians and trainers featured in the videos published on the channel.
Practicing Lead Changes
They teach themselves lead changes, horses do them all the time - we teach them to do lead changes on our cue(s).

Evening show at the Y6

Martin would either have something to do with his own horses or be helping out someone with one of theirs - the evening show consists of kicking back with a beverage and learning even more than was presented during the day's clinic.
Martin Black on desensitizing
มุมมอง 44วันที่ผ่านมา
Can you overly desensitize your horse? Yes, you can, you can make them dull - having said that - for some people they like dull horses, one that won't move without a spur or stop without a pull, they are more mechanical that way and the rider lacks the communication to ride any other way.
Fine line between asking and telling...

I’m going to this someday
I believe "The Great Basin Buckaroo Gathering" (that particular one) ended just before the lockdowns started. There is a newer "Buckaroo Traditions Gathering" in Winnemucca NV that looks good - I am considering attending. Apparently Jeff Mundell is MC'ing the event. www.btgathering.com
I really thought there was gonna be a fall 😭
Haha, sorry to disappoint, but stayed tuned - one never knows with those danged ponies.
Corral has how many "r"s .. I see TWO ! (÷
We used a corrective collar on ours. Didn’t have to use the shock part just a beep or vibration mode on the collar. It worked great.
That’s very good advice! Thank you 😊
You are very welcome, thank you for the positive feedback, always appreciated.
Beautiful horses :)
Thank you!
Nice I like the way you guide the viewer through the process of what’s happening.
Thank you for the positive feedback and encouragement Sir.
Mare is first problem,
Hahaha, I don't believe the rumours.
@@vaqueroontario believes don't Trump miles. Beta men ride mares.
So the white horse was standing quite, then flag him in the face scare him some more? Stinking flags. Want a bee back yard crap. And yes this is coming from a cowboy that has worked all over and started colts for more than one world champion. Hell even my dad eas one of the original coors cowboys. Buck and his buck a boos. When are people going to wake up.
Thank you for taking the time to view our content and comment.
I remember a clinic Ray held in Katherine Northern Territory Australia and a group of local Ringers brought in the roughest colts their Stations had to offer. Ray was having trouble with a particular colt and threw a rope over the colt and was dragged all over the round yard so the owner of the colt jumped in to help Ray. Ray abused the shit outa the owner who in turn packed up his truck and left never to look back. He wasted a shit tonne of money and got nothing from Ray Hunt . It put a stale taste in everyones mouth and was a very boring clinic after that.
Thank you for sharing your story.
Really?
Yes "really" we were trotting, and yes her shadow makes her look really fat.
Boy, I'm struggling. I'm thinking rein management can handle most if not all, lateral movement. But I get confused about these indirect rein in opposition - in front of withers: indirect rein in opposition behind the withers. Then direct rein, neck rein, lift rein, and we haven't even gotten to the outside rein. Whew... Then the locking of the croup in some positions...
You need to tighten up your back cinch or take it off ad remove the stirrups
Of course he’s not done if you continue to flick a flag in his face.
Thank you for the taking the time to watch the video, and comment. Please keep coming back to learn more great horsemanship tips.
I tried keepin the far end on the top of a barrel. Not easy i tellya.😊
Cool !!!
Nice job. Horse is learning fast that the saddle won't hurt him and nobody got hurt.
Excellent video 👍 And yes I would ride heck out of it.
I've always considered a spade bit the PhD level of training.. for both the horse and rider! I'm still in community college, but I really appreciate the training involved at this level.
It’s corral not coral
Thank you for your astute observation.
God Bless Martin Black
Well done! My dad did this with his horses and carriages many years ago…but it never loses its appeal. What a lovely turnout and patient, well behaved horses!
The saddle on the grey horse was so loose I was waiting for it to spin around.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video, I hope you stay tuned and check back from time to time, there is so much to learn about horses and horsemanship, and Martin Black's clinics are always extremely informative, even for people new to horses.
use a darn mounting block
Personally, I never used to - figured they were for old geezers, now I am an old geezer I will use one from time to time.
@@vaqueroontario Mounting blocks are easier on the horse's back, and are safer for really short people of any age. I personally don't want to have my leg stretched 2 feet or more in the air, or bounce like a kangaroo while trying to get on a horse --- it's truly not safe.
Poor horse dude. Horse abuse,
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video Cherie Luna, we hope you will continue to watch the videos on this channel so that you can learn even more about great horsemanship.
@@vaqueroontario I will not watch horse abuse.
I don't know a better way to "go with the horse first" and be in harmony before you ask the horse to go with you.
Where is this tom
This was at Deitra's and Bill's place in Hempstead, Texas M8
I never understood why people even bother with the back cinch if they aren't going to have it tight against the horse. Just a place for a stick to get hung up in or the hind foot as low as that one was.
Thank you for this. I think I understand what he is saying but I would love to hear more for context if you have it. Thanks
Get on out to a clinic to get more details, these round tables are usually pretty brief as each participant is encouraged to participate. But check back as I post more clips that may lead to similar conclusions.
How big is your round pen? Great advice by Martin.
Not my round pen, but I guessing about 40' across.
Not gonna watch stupid. I can see in the first few seconds pure DUMB Horsemanship! Go be an auto mechanic
You should have the stirrups pushed up in saddle area, so, they don't hit sides of the poor horse! You're cruel to allow stirrups to hit the poor horse! BAD socalled trainer.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video Darilyn, we hope you continue to watch and enjoy the videos posted on this channel. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for people who are unfamiliar with good horsemanship to see methods they may be unfamiliar with and to understand there are better ways to train horses without using force or other painful training techniques.
You know nothing…. John Snow…..
The stirrups help drive the horse forward which is exactly what it needs to do. When it stops bucking it will get relief from the stirrups.
I wish I could know all about a person in a minute-24. I guess that's why you make the big bucks.
@@lesliejacobs3002 You're a cruel trainer. So glad I see on TH-cam kind horse trainers.
I remember my first impression of the spade. I really thought it would be an agressive bit.after years of using them i understand how they work and their effectiveness. Maybe one way to explain part of their effectiveness would be mass or volume. They dont put al lot of pressure on any point to cause pain but when they are engaged the horse will notice and respond accordingly. I love them and so do my horses.
Well said! Thank you for your input.
Wrong Bit.
Too cute!!
He certainly has the moves going on, lol

Загон из дизайнерской доски🧐🤨какова цена бренда?

Ray was smart, he was protecting the young horses' mouths. If the humans had reins, they'd pull on them. I recall him saying something like, if you don't stop hanging onto your reins I'll cut them off. Time and time again, at every clinic I went to, he would say this to all students as a group. It was so important not to do it, that was why he took them away from humans whenever he could.
Thank you for sharing
You are very welcome sir, I hope it helps someone.
Best horseman ever!

No people "Dont get mad"...Everything with quality and kindness ❤🐎❤
Anybody who would use a spade bit or any other kind of severe bit like that on a horse, is an abuser doesn't know what they're doing, has no understanding or compassion for the animal, and has no right or having anything to do with them. Abuse is abuse
I would highly recommend you do a lot more research, then circle back to your comment.
You are remarkably ignorant.
