Sounds to me like the fairly standard White Soul/Blues stuff they were doing on the West Coast about then, just not in Hippie dress.
"WOW!!" Thanks!! <3 Never seen this!
10:50 Bernadette starts to crack up
Always loved Scott Walker's beautiful original but just discovered Richard's live version and it is a wonderful one ! He is an amazing singer and songwriter !
I love to watch rich people dance. It reminds me of the days before the pandemic when we were forced to attend company holiday parties.
Thanks,Lyndon B.Johnson.
great concert! Thanks for posting!

Ha- I was there, 19 years old. They were genius.
Another one of my favorite sketches of hers. Bernadette is brilliant! Tim's knee joke is spit take hilarious!!!
Keith Emerson absolute genius!! In the beginning of his Aquatarkus improvisation he manages to quote the Star Wars main theme in the very year of its release! Great show, amazing performances and with astounding sound quality!! Curious to hear Tarkus without Battlefield, with Aquatarkus connected directly from Mass! And Take a Pebble with bits of the Piano Concerto!! Thanks so much for posting it!!
Doug’s terrific bass playing is really up front in this version.
On June 29, 1989, I was walking down the street during my lunch break in NYC (I was a 23-year-old in an entry-level advertising job) in midtown near Sixth Ave, and saw three interestingly dressed men and a little girl walk by me in the opposite direction. After a second, I realized they were Colin and his young daughter, Dave and Andy from XTC and I turned around and followed them for a couple of blocks. When we got to a DON'T WALK sign, I said "Excuse me, are you guys XTC?" and they all turned around. I told them I was a huge fan and had all of their records. Colin thanked me and said "tune in, we'll be on David Letterman tomorrow night." I don't remember the other two guys saying anything. I was completely blown away, especially considering they had stopped touring and become a studio band and weren't exactly out in public much. I went back to the office and told two of my friends that I had just met XTC on the street downstairs and they both said, "Who's XTC?"
Cool, thanks for sharing. I saw them in August '77 in Ft Wayne Indiana. Thunderous, awesome.
".....What the hell's that?!"
LOL!
In the many years I’ve been listening to/collecting ELP boots, I’ve never encountered this show. Quality is unreal. Thanks for sharing
hi do you have elp concerts 1977 and 1978
The house where I grew up was extremely haunted, so this skit really gave me a different spin to some 'frightening' experiences. I lived at 8812 Candelaria Rd NE, ABQ NM 87112 between 1968-1974 where I attended junior/high school. My girlfriend Patricia and I saw "The Exorcist" at the theater and were deeply affected. Many people have suffered because of that movie. *For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
My God, the tempo on Copland's " Hoedown " is impossibly fast...maybe a bit too fast but, I love them just the same!
Carl Palmer es fantástico.....realmente increible
TH-cam finally decided to let me know about this! Great performance - it's not lost on my how Andy let Colin have the spotlight on this - perhaps the stage fright was calling the shots?
Colin wrote the song and the rules set by Andy was whoever wrote the song, sings it. Yes, Andy apparently didn’t want to be upfront and you can see Colin once in awhile looking back at him I suppose to see how Andy’s holding up.
got annoying
Great show! Great ELP❤ but the 8 strings bass guitar has a horrible sound! 😢
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍.
OMG!!! I there when they went to West Meck!!!
I wish someone would upload a video of West Meck.
Damn GX1... Too cheezy for me. I miss the heavily saturated C3. Still, good playing. Star Wars theme during Tarkus, funny.
And a little bit of her kneecap😂😂😂
Wrong information. The date is 11/20/1977 at Mid South Coliseum, Memphis, TN.
Soaps
What a fantastic performance and recording this is! I love hearing Tank played on the GX-1...Emerson a beast on that.
Sorpréndete y fascinante
50 years later and I'm still amazed
Keith Remains The Master
I saw them at Madison Square Garden the week later, with an orchestra
That may be the most amazing version of aquatarkus I've ever heard
Yes, fantastic! But how about this other one here? m.th-cam.com/video/q3f15JYwl3o/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUkZWxwIGxpdmUgaW4gaXRhbHkgcm9tZSAmIG1pbGFuIDE5NzMg Cheers!!
Best UK band of the 70/80s!
I love this man so much
In the end: Uninteresting Non vital Forgetful
Best Music Video ever made perhaps....in 69! Who better to film the best video than Andy Warhol and Danny Williams? So smart what they did with all the clips, all the crude "technology" they could use...interspersing lights indoors with movie camerea shots of NYC at night, black and white lights also....brilliant...Video shot from cars in teh city rolling at night....all put together at different places....just great minds.....and Lou and the Velvets.
I am surprised to see how many Carol Burnett Show skits Isabel Sanford was in.
I've heard about this show but never actually listen to it, it's really well recorded and brings back some great memories. Thanks for posting.
dogranch, do you know which lineup this was? Was John Cale on this recording or had he already been replaced by Doug Yule? Cheers
I hear Doug’s voice.
really great version💥
Apologies- I am getting some reports that the audio is not working on some devices. Will try to work out the problem soon.
