Thank you for this video. My husband and I are booked on the second-to-last cruise of 2025 on the Bliss. Unfortunately we will miss the midnight sun, but the kids will be back in school, and I hear that stores mark down their prices before the end of the season. I have my eyes on that hot tub. 😊

the Bliss is a horrible way to see Alaska. The food was not good, and the staff was definitely reduced. You only get a few hours in port, and the ship is parked far away from town. One port was next to an abandoned water treatment plant! 😢

Thank you for posting clear images of the menus, it lets me have a look at what options will be available for me (I'm Coeliac so can't eat gluten). It unfortunately doesn't look like there is a lot gluten free on the Royal Court menus you posted for breakfast and lunch, I appreciate you may not know if you didn't have a Coeliac member of your party to check for, but are you aware of any other gluten free options in the various restaurants etc you visited while on board?

honestly i am dissapointed when i went, not cause of the exhibtion but i bought the vip ticket, and i am still waiting on my pin, they told us to fill a form in and they would send it to us, month went past nothing so i contacted them and they said they are on the way to the exhibition and would send it to us, 2 weeks go by nothing, contacted again, said they would show us a pic if we were happy with the pin, still not had a pic, ive contacted them 10 times since then and no response adn that was mid august so i have 0 clue what to do

What an amazing large suite and great perks too. Food in the Coastal kitchen looked delicious and all the friendly staff too. You got a great deal getting free kids places, every time we look it’s either under 12’s free or no discount. Great video explaining all you get with this grade suite. 👏

We also live in Victoria, albeit on the West Shore. We have been here for more than 40 years. It's quite likely I saw your ship arrive as I was walking our dog at one of the many beaches. In response to your surprise that few shops were open on your arrival, the answer lies partially in the unwillingness of store owners to expose their employees to the risks arising from escalating drug, crime and homelessness issues in Victoria's downtown area. Superficially or from a visitor's perspective, Victoria has lots of appeal. On short-stay visits, one can certainly enjoy the traditional tourist attractions like Butchart Gardens and other venues without having to experience the sketchier sides of the city. However, locals and visitors whose travel schedules allow will agree that Victoria's real beauty lies as much in the natural attractions within easy reach of the city, the beaches, trails, forests, trailways all give our home a magnificence that is unequaled elsewhere.

When we were in Lisbon, we hired a tuk-tuk driver for a half day and it was pretty reasonable 175 euro or so.

It is NOT the Parliament buildings. It is the Legislature buildings. Wikipedia is wrong. I should know this because I grew up in Victoria, BC.

What a beautiful city! I hope you made up for the loss of body weight in that heat when you got back to your ship. That called for some sort of special food intake! What a shame the tour wasn’t great, Lisbon looks amazing but a big place to see on a hot day. We’ve done a lot of Hop On bus tours and it’s a mixed bag. We tend to find the best way is to stay on the bus for the whole circuit to see the most but on a hot day and in traffic it’s not always great. You do miss out on spending time at the places of interest, so it’s a trade off. We once did an entire loop of Malta frazzling on the top deck without any drinks and we’ve sat in a massive traffic jam in Helsinki and saw nothing only to find we could have walked it all in less time 😂 Barcelona is probably the best one we have done.

I will be in Lisbon on a cruise stop in November, and had decided with so much near the port, I will just book a walking tour of that area (and start planning my next trip when I can stay longer)! I hope your ice cream revived you both!

Went to Lisbon last yr summe half term. I wonder if you caught the loop that went the other way so went back on yourself?? We did the green line up to Belem and that wasnt great experience coz of traffic and heat! Other than that, absolutely loved lisbon apart from the hills!

Never cruised before and I booked this on a whim to do the helicopter tour and to my surprise….. no can do . They don’t offer it :( and I’m sure for good reason. Anyways gonna make the best of it :)

Great video. We just did an Alaskan cruise in July on Quantum. We did 3 days in seattle in Seattle and loved it. Should've bought the City Pass, would've saved you a few bucks on the big name attractions.

I live in Victoria, exactly one mile from Butchart Gardens. It really annoys me how nearly all the cruise ships stop here for a few hours. They have to stop due to the US 'JONES ACT', whereby foreign flagged ships, which all the cruise ships are, are NOT allowed to sail between two US cities, like Seattle and Juneau. They have to stop at a 'foreign port' between the two US ones. Hence the stop in Victoria. That's how it was for Years, the cruise ships were here for quite a few hours. Then something happened. The rumour is that the cruise ships had bought up nearly all the tourist attractions in Alaska, the gift shops , tours etc, and decided that they did not want their passengers spending their money else where! Hence the short stays. One of the exceptions is the Queen Elizabeth ! Good for us! Rule Britannia! (I am British!) She is coming in at 1pm this Sunday! Glad you like it here!

Travelling With Teens: What a beautiful place to visit. That lunch looked amazing as did the dinner aboard the ship. 😊👍👍 My parents aren't into cruising per se but they took a transatlantic cruise aboard a MSC cargo ship that provides accommodations to a small number of paying passengers. They said the dishes the ship's chef prepared were positively out of this world! Thank you. Safe & happy travels!💓🛳💓

Wow 8 times for specialty dinning, this has regularly been a problem with MSC sad to see its spread to Royal. Did you consider two cabins rather than a suite? (We coming towards that time) teens going free is amazing though
