Just do it, slowly and politely! You'll have plenty of time to watch out for cops, and if one does happen to see you, they're more than likely to let it slide as long as you're going real slow. If anyone confronts you, just say you're trying to keep safe and not risk being sandwiched/rear ended. Best of luck!
