Update October 24-25: There was a time when 4868 from Ulmer Park was loaned to East New York, but now it is back. Grand Avenue got XE40 4979, Kingsbridge got 4996, and Quill got 5002. It appears that for once, New Flyer may be slower in deliveries than Nova Bus! JFK/Far Rockaway got four more Novas (9107, 9113, 9153 & 9154). That makes 150 out of 179. On the 25th, 9122 got delivered and 2010 Orion 4635 got retired. LaGuardia just retired two Orions: 4176, 4386 As part of the Queens Village/Yukon swap for the S79 SBS, QV got 8722 and Yukon got 8759 & 8849. For some reason, Charleston has given some of its 2022 Prevosts to Yukon. Perhaps Yukon express commuters were asking for USB charging. This leaves Castleton as the only Staten Island depot without USB on express routes.

October 22 2024 update: Castleton swapped two more Novas with Jamaica as part of the 2019 mileage issue. Now there’s just one 2019 LFS left. Better catch it busfanners! Unfortunately, Charleston’s bid ended up being short-lived. They lost their two XE40s to Michael J. Quill. Kingsbridge still has their one XE40. Will East New York still get any? JFK/Far Rockaway got three more Novas delivered. They now just need 33 more to complete the order. Queens Village swapped another Nova with Yukon as part of the S79 SBS upgrade to use Coneheads. Queens Village is still expected to keep some of them.

It looks like “Fare Required” can only be done in a loop with the destination on Luminator signage, while for Hanover you have to keep pressing the fare button, I think.

I thought all XD40s are 2024 models, they were just built in 2023. I don’t want to believe other busfanners just because CPTDB is treated like Wikipedia and TTMG is gone. But is there a way to figure out the year from the actual bus or manufacturer?

Oh you should see the blatant fare evasion in the S40/S90 buses! That's where the main action is! The Amazon folks getting off the ferry and bum rushing it like the Hunger Games and stuffing it full like canned sardines! Got sick and tired of it, I bought an electric scooter and take NJ Transit train to Elizabeth from Manhattan to travel to Staten Island's west shore instead! Much faster route too!

Very soon, you will come across another Nova LFS at MTA Bus Company. Contrary to popular belief, not all models are 2023! 8964-8973 are 2022 models 9181-9271 are 2024 models. And I didn’t make this up. I found it as it is on CPTDB.
