Arturo Márquez For Concert Band, Symphonic Band Arranger: Oliver Nickel
I've sat in the band hall and had a mental breakdown because I wasn't ready to rehearse this song. I've gone home and cried about it. I've hyperventilated in a practice room just thinking about practicing Sleigh Ride. I've dreamed about playing it beautifully and I've dreamed about totally screwing it up during the concert, then dying. I've woken up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, my first coherent thought being "SLEIGH RIDE." It played in my head for months on end and I couldn't go more than 5 minutes without thinking about it. This song made me consider seeing a therapist. My heart rate still gets faster due to an anxiety if I so much as listen to Sleigh Ride. If it comes on the radio while I'm in the car, I will jump out. Leroy Anderson's ghost haunts me life; I see him everywhere, no matter the time of year. I hear Sleigh Ride playing in the background constantly, even when it isn't there. This song had caused me heart issues, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. Send help, please... (I played 1st Cornet part in Sleigh Ride with my trumpet my freshman year of high school and I have never been the same.)
im playing temple blocks on this song im so excited to destroy my hands with those triplets. my wrists already hurt mimicking them
Good luck brother, how’s your whip crack?
cool
I’m traumatized by trying to learn this in less than a week from performance day.
As a Euphonium player i cry when i see the octave G CLARINETISTS DO NOT SPEAK TO ME I KNOW
En vivo desde el paseo Colón en la edición número 27 del festval de la Luz este próximo sábado 14 de diciembre
If your band director gives this to your group, that means they think highly of your flutes and clarinets ❤
I LOVE THIS.
Marvelous.
Where’s the piano score?
cool
i remember this from 8 grade band omg
Love it, we had a really good bell player when we played it. I wanna hear more of it here!
I died mid concert trying to play this in first part
cool
Pfft the saxophones should have the same melody as the trumpets
THANK YOU, They have so much wasted potential in this song 😭
@@SoulKingYOHOHOHOHO which is why my band director gave me the melody and I played the trumpet part on tenor saxophone

Audience: this sounds nice Band: this sounds nice Flute: mY lUnGs
Have fun with all those high notes💀 -first chair flute (I’m the only one)💀💀
ive only played this song once 💔 my band director did NOT like this piece
The energy felt in the trombone section is indescribable in words. Especially at 1:50.
I love this massive community of band kids in the comments totally unified by sleigh ride 😅
Recorded in mono sound in 1952 at Decca Records Studios.
I actually played this song with my high school band for our Winter Concert this year. This version of Sleigh Ride sounds very fit for a movie.
im learning the horse perc. part and whip crack just with drum sticks and a drum pad but im a flute-
The sax part at 1:57 always gets me pumped, my fav part
Those trills scared me
bells carry ngl
First year playing Sleigh Ride this coming Tuesday, im excited!
It's obvious the whip crack came from a very angry parent
Whip crack and TB, the most iconic duo ever
100% my favorite christmas song ever (specifically band version)
I feel you french horns
who complains about the horn part has never played any portuguese march. (per example: Presidente João Costa, Vinho do Porto)
I played this a few times when I was in college band. This was such a fun piece to play to get you in the holiday spirit
practicing 1st clarinet, lets see how it goes!!
Este sábado en vivo desde el paseo Colón el festval de la Luz en teletica
Yall, im learning alto sax 1, i have to learn it in 3 hours 🫡

I don't care how overplayed this is, I absolutely adore this arrangement, and isn't Christmas until I hear it!
I played sleigh bells my sophomore year and I messed up so bad on it because I suck at keep up with tempo but it’s one of my favorite pieces

Playing clarinet part 1who? Not me😭
My band has been playing this song for our marching band holiday concert for 25 years in a row know and I’m getting tired of it I’m a sophomore this year so this will be my second time playing it
I haven't played this song in band yet, but I played the Euphonium and a few tries was all it took for me to play this correctly. Any fellow Euphonium players here?
Slapstick people! 👇
