Be Her Track
Not sure what you meant?
Where you're using pads and other rising sounds, do you tend to use them on the tonic of the scale you're in? Or do you find that using other notes (e.g. 4th) is better for creating tension?
I use mostly long notes in the key of the track. Sometimes I use single notes, rarely chords.
@Psiger that's what I tend to do but I was curious to get your input. I thought that maybe some notes having a "greater desire to resolve" might be better for building tension, but I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to music theory so I really wasn't sure.
I don’t have rule for that I usually just try and feel what fits the bets
How to make sweeping ambient soundscape/harmony/chords
I'm not sure if I got this 100% do you have an example track of what you meant?
cool and good
Thank you
Pretty Nice Approach. Keep continue
Thanks a lot :)
Im loving the idea of a video series Andi. Thank you.
Actually I plan to more series videos but tbh hasn't been one of those. But the intro tutorial and a few others which haven't aired yet
@@Psiger I think Im thinking of your motivational series... I joined that one
Ah nice :) yeah psychology is the most important. Most people always only care about the technical side. So I thought this is missing.
fire intro 😲
Thank you <3
Nice, could you explain that nasty fm lead?
Ok nice I make a video on that lead
@@Psiger 🙏🙏
@@Psiger it's a dope AF sounding lead. I can envision myself using something very similar to that for a really techy drop in an uplifting trance tune. Very cool sound 👌

Great video, thanks... ;)
Glad it helped you!

Where is midi lag???
Some people call this midi-lag it your keyboard reacts slow. The video is not about hardware latency it you have been looking for that. The main point is that it's not the buffer size and those things that actually make your DAW lag it’s usually plugins and especially linear phase / mastering plugins etc.
@ ok. I have a launchpad pro x. Sometimes can’t finger drumming in high speeds because there is some lag in midi input from my fingers to the controller. Do you know why?
@@AthanEvans not really. But one tip I have, is to export the whole project you have as an audio file and make a break out session. Just open up a new Ableton liver set within the project. Then load that audio file in, and use this project to record stuff. That way you basically remove all VSTs besides the one you are using. Maybe that helps.
Very well made! Good job man! Really unique stule
Thank you ✌️✨
Killer sht sounds dope thx for sharing :)
Welcome brother ;)

Thank you 💙
Great track! But too late to a be a Christmas gift 😉. I have a question: Are you mastering your tracks by yourself? Quality is really top notch and the consistency is impressive. It is absolutely professional. Why do I suck in mastering in my home studio? What do I need to become a pro like you?
I see mastering only as the final polishing step, a good master requires a good mix, and a good mix starts in building the track e.g. the element selection, the placement of those elements. The more I advanced in my production the less I do process elements, EQ them and use compressors etc. as many elements just naturally sit well in the mix by just leveling them right and putting the for that situation suited reverb/ delays on top of them. If you really want to reach top-notch quality we have a course with weekly video feedback from Morsei one of the best producers out there and much more. But the mastering credits for this particular track go to Mickey Noise. But if you plan to submit to a label they usually take care of this.
Thank you for the response and the tipps! Very much appreciated.
Nice track! Try LANDR instead :)
Thanks :) why LANDR?
@@Psiger I ended up with them after quite extensive search on reviews of distibutors. For example, Top Music Attorney-channel has some nice walkthrough of different distributors. I guess none of them are perfect, but LANDR looked much better than Distrokid. :)
🎉
✨
I recently started releasing my music independently with Distrokid. Unfortunately they screwed up my latest release and it got taken down for some reason 😈 (one day before the release). Their support is sub-par robot messages 😡! If you want to get this release I give it away for FREE until it appears again in Beatport. Maybe in a week, maybe in a day. Grab your copy: www.psytrance-blueprint.com/sacred-pulse-free-dl
Don't support Distrokid dude, they're awful and are predatory
@@DaddaPsy What are you recommending? I heard CD Baby shouldn't be too bad. Some said tunecore or ditto, but in the end I'm not sure if they are not all equal.
ohh nice!
Thank you <3
Hey Psiger. This has nothing to do with the subject of your video. But how did you do that @ 2:37 with the automation line? :D
If you check my shorts I think I made a tutorial how to do this. I think it is alt or Ctrl (don't remember right now as it became automatic to do that). Try holding one of those!
👏🏻 Really some cool sound design!
Thank you :) 😄 it’s always tough to make these things on the fly while explaining
Great video, thanks!
Hey Alex, hope 🙏 you are doing well thank you
Thank you! really good and well presented basics!!!!
Welcome <3
Just signed up for to course. Excited to start it.
You should get either six videos or one very long an hour long one on the following page (depends which version of the page it lead you to)? It’s about mindset the psychology behind not about production techniques as some people confused that.
Thanks, man
Welcome bro :)
Thanks for your videos, btw your cpu is crying hahahahha
Its the mix of Ableton and recording the screencast 😅 I want to invest next year into a more powerful computer, but at the moment quite on a budget
Locrian natural 2nd is another great option for psytrance scales.
Thank you I'll check that out :)
LMFAO
😅
5:40 I'm pretty sure you would need to subtract the negative 200. -5440 - (-200) = -5440 + 200 = -5240
No actually not as the Megascope is before the track delay. If we add a track delay after it, and we want the hack the display showing it - as it didn't run through it - we would fake it by adding the -200 to it as well. If reconstruct correctly why I did that.
Just wanna make tracks good enough to hear a local crew drop at an event ❤️
Nice, try to help your local parties e.g with small things at the venue, then you can get to know them better. A lot of small parties offer the first slot to newcomers, locals and people who are helping them ;)
awesome explanation thank you
Thank you 🙏✨

u fukkkknnngg Saved my Dayyyyy!!!!!!!!! I didnt saw anywhere the option of deactivate the plugins before .. I Put my crash files after and it worked!!
Do you have or can you make a video on synthesizing a bassline sound with Ableton's Operator VST? PS thanks for everything! =D <3
Recorded brother, just needs to get cut ;)
Thanks for the reality check.
Welcome 😅✌️
I find this so frustratin, it makes me want to quit making music all together. When I need 10.000 steps just to make a simple bass note it kind of kills the fun altogether for me. Great Video, don't get me wrong. I just don't see myself ever finish even one track if setting up one bass note takes forever. And then you do the Mixing and Mastering, compression, EQ, and the whole phase alignment is messed up anyway. There must be a simpler and more efficient way.
There are a handful of packs that contain bass samples. You are a bit less flexible but you can definitely get good results with those. E.g Kämpfer has Psytrance bass notes and if Im not wrong there are some in the Spirit Architect and Outsiders pack.
But its worthwhile to explore the wavetable function of serum, say if you dont want the standard psy bass sound - you can craft the waveform you want, with serum or with wavetable generators. Psytrance is a very formularic genere nowadays, i would suggest to look more into sub generes like forrest to be a little more flexible with the sound selection. I wasnt aware that single cycles could be imported this way, so a good tutorial - its also possible to morph between different waveforms with the editor, so you can use this technique to morph bass sounds between the flavours you like best. So its not about that single note - its about learning details of your favourite soft synth. I use serum now for over 5 years, and while i used the wt generator quiete a bit, i didnt knew the single cycle function. Always something new to learn, thats the fun about it - never gets boring.
Is MIDI Bridge a program? Or is it a website?
Technically it is a website but it runs locally so practically you could consider it an app on your computer.
doesn't work if you have standard edition
Oh sorry to hear that which plugins are missing there?
@@Psiger I don't know maybe it's because I'm on Live 12
Banger
Thank you :)
Any advice on making happy bouncy beautiful proggy would be awesome! I can't seem to get away from making more dark and trippy mushroomy shit, but I wanna do morning proggy type, something beautiful and it just won't happen ;'P
I think it‘s mostly the scale and the sound selection. Try the major scale and look what sounds e.g your favourite artist use and search similar presets.
@@Psiger I try to synthesize all my own sounds, so presets are like a cheat code for me, but I'll try some shortcuts in the spirit of learning more than just synthesis ;) Thanks!
Bro almost all pros use presets and samples. Besides you plan to do Forrest or something where sound design is 90% of the music, no need to do all sound design by yourself. You can be a great chef cook without needing a farmer ;) and if you don't find what you need you can still home-grow it.
Thank you for your very good videos friend =D <3 I started when I was late teen, just the random stuff with noobware. Then at like 20 I figured out what Cubase and ableton were and just went for an adventure with only youtube to help. Was great! Made a few interesting things. The track pinned to my page (I think...) is my first one (Preparation for Death), dedicated to my dear friend, Jonas. RIP brother <3 That was a pretty good start.. Went back to school though and had like a 10 year break from it, now I'm back and rusty but really keen to get back and make even better music with my new future self =P So yeah, cheers for the help, Psiger! <3
Nice that you already have experience that will make it easy to kickstart it :) just keep going consistently and you will have soon leveled up ✨✌️🙌
Many Thanks! Didn't know about "Cmd-Shift-D" !

You’re giving people wrong information
Aha where and what?
Wrong. That is not a natural c minor.
Not sure where you are referring to but 4:47 is A natural minor: www.musictheory.net/lessons/22#:~:text=A%20Natural%20Minor%20is%3A%20A,starting%20note%20will%20be%20G%23. or m.basicmusictheory.com/a-minor-scale The other one I show is C-major not minor.
lame question but what do you mean by "grid section" here? Just a section of the track that plays the MIDI grid of these otherworldly sounds?
I mean those parts where you create a groove between more FX type of sounds. A section in which you don't have a melody or a riff in focus but more a conversation of multiple repeating elements.
