My Favorite Prompts for Playful Photos
I love documenting families in a playful way. By coming prepared with a handful of playful prompts it allows my families to relax and have a great time together without the pressure of performing in front of the camera. In today's video I'm outlining some of my go-to prompts for playful sessions.

Hi, i learned a lot! Thank you very much!
Beautiful..what lens do you use for this session?
Love the info! Very helpful
Thank you - so many helpful tips!
thanks for sharing and demonstrating.
The tension in my body when you handed that camera to the kids 😮😅
Happy to have you back Bailey! Great video ❤
Amazing! Such a special little girl. Thank you for sharing☺️
I really enjoyed this, these are great tips and ideas!
This is so so helpful! I saw one of the photos said ISO 3200. How do you avoid noise?
Do you have any links for Etsy?
This lady was extremely rough with this baby. How dare people in the comments say amazing job! That poor baby didn’t look comfortable at all. Sickening.
Amazing work! Looking to down my own child when they arrive. Would love to know your in-camera settings and your views on off camera flash if not much natural light. Thanks in advance for your help. :)
So when you go to post a blog your design it in Canva first? How does that transfer over? Rereferring to thigs you were showing around 13:00....
This was so sweet! What was your shutter speed on?
How are you managing back light ? Du you use a reflector ? Flash ?
Great video!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃
“The Lord goes before you” 😭😭 thank you for the reminder.
Can you share your settings
Such great tips 👏🏻
Appreciate this so much and in awe of your patience! My boys would 100% be like this ♥️🤣
Amazing!
Absolutely love the rawness of this video! & Parker was perfect!
Love your TH-cam .!
Like the video very helpful. 😊
Can you share with me what focal length you are shooting with? I love your style
hey i noticed you have 2 beanbags in amazon which one do you prefer to use?
hey! which did she have linked?
I love your channel so much! And you are so clear in your message. Thanks for your great content.
What harness do you use?
Great video! Family shoots stress me out but I do enjoy them. You definitely showed me that it doesn’t have to be that way and it can be fun and playful!
😂😂 I take my hat off to you😂😂😂😂 them kids would have drove me crazy the patients you have is remarkable good job
This was such an insightful video! How do you create the templates for the google review? And do you Emil them a direct link for it? You’re information is so very helpful. Thank you!
My apologies for bringing up a video that's a year old. I found it really helpful, but the end kind of leaves me hanging. I don't know a lot of about Instagram, I was always a Twitter person. I understand what "Stories" are on Insta and I love your ideas for them in this video. But, what you didn't do, was go through exporting process. How do you get the story you created from Canva to Instagram? I've used Canva a little, and I know I need to be more familiar with it, does Canva export straight to Insta now? Or do we need to export as a video, then upload to the Insta? Anyway, other than, this was such a helpful video and it really inspired to get my stuff together and get back to promoting, my business. Thank you. :)
Find an answer to this?
Hi Bailey! I suppose you're aware of it but your Amazon links section is not working (unless it's just me trying to access from Spain). Really liked your vids, they are exactly what they should be. Ps. think about selling some of your presets. I think it'd be interesting :)
Very Helpful, thank you!
love your video so much!
You’re so good with these kiddos
This was helpful..thank you
Thank you so much I appreciate
Family photographer here. Absolutely beautiful space! Thank you so much for showing us the tour! Love your photos so much and larger wall photos, would you mind suggesting any printers? I wish I lived closer to GA, I'd be signing up for your workshop.
Hello! If I’m starting my client closet with these type of dresses, what size do you recommend I start with?
I had a shoot today with a 1 year old and a 5 year old that was a bit difficult. We ended up just walking and getting what photos we could. Baby sister was not having it with her brother and she cried half the session. I felt bad, but did what I could. I could tell mom probably walked holding her most of the day and she was very clingy to her mom, but mom didn't want to be in the photos and didn't dress appropriately which made it even more difficult.
Wich camera and lens do you use?
What are you using as your light to record this video looks amazing. I just found you. thank you for sharing your knowledge.
This was so helpful. Thank you 😃
Do you ever use any blanket warmers?
This was so helpful!! I never seem to wrap babies tight enough and got some tips to take into my next newborn session!!
Thank you for these videos! I just came across your channel, and it's so helpful! I'm curious, I tend to be an overshooter sometimes before moving onto the next pose just to unsure that I got some good ones. But I notice you move so quickly from one pose/prompt to another and you're shooting in live mode. It's impressive! What camera are you shooting on? Is the focus just super sharp on it even as you move at a faster pass? Thank you!!
Hey Erika! Thanks for watching! Great question! I feel like over the last few years I’ve gotten a better handle on my session flow and moving smoothly/quickly through prompts. I also switched to mirrorless (Canon r6) back in 2022 and it is a GAME CHANGER. I was never a screen shooter before but I absolutely love the way it is with this camera. The precision has been incredible and it nails focus so well in my opinion.
@@HelloJudePhotography thank you so much!! That's so helpful. I am going to look into this option.
@@HelloJudePhotography I just purchased my first camera and bought a refurbished canon r6 and absolutely love it. I liked seeing you use it as a screen shooter because I tend to lean into that as well. A few questions on how you customized your focus settings since you are so quick with taking pictures of the little ones. Are you using back button focus at all or mainly half shutter? Are you in servo or single shot? Are you in AF face/eye recognition or single point AF? Basically - can you elaborate what settings you have your AF on? Thank you!! :)
Thank you so much for this content! Super helpful!! What lens do you usually use for your newborn sessions and what settings were most of these taken on (as far as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed)?
Hey McKenzie! I shoot with my 50mm 1.2 most of the time. In general my settings are at around 2.5 aperture, no less than 250 shutter speed and then ISO will vary the most depending on available lighy
Your videos are super helpful! I’d love to know your aperture for the group shots and typically what sort of shutter speed you use for these photos? Thank you!
Hey Jodi! In studio I typically stick around 2.5 for my aperture and my shutter speed is a minimum of 250 at all times.
